Yeah, it's on land and moving quickly across Florida before it enters the Atlantic and probably becomes a tropical storm fairly quickly.

If Roker fell on his ass, I'll probably see it tonight/tomorrow on the Daily Show. XD

I woke up curled up in a ball. If anyone told me I was gonna be feeling this cold at this time, in this house, I thought they would've been insane.

I live in central Florida, so obviously I didn't have to go through anything. *shrugs*

I know some havoc was caused down south, but I hope that atleast the amount of folks and their pets that were hurt is very very low.

I'm guessing that Anya's OK.

I do, however, think she's gonna have to suffer.

Utility officials said Wednesday that all of Broward and much of Miami-Dade may need to wait for up to four weeks to have power restored to all homes.

Anya = Broward County. And based on what I'm reading, they got the full brunt of Wilma...

Yeah, I've been worrying about Anya. I live far enough north that Wilma just gave us some rain, and that's about it.

Hmm, you live in Pensacola, by any chance?

My big brother were there when Wilma hit Florida.

Anya again.

Yo. And yes, I left my cats at home and they're okay. I've been going to my apartment everyday to check up on them.

Fucking lucky, is all I have to say. I have things written out from the hurricane and I'll post it on my journal once I can. All my info is at home, which still has no power.

We got power at Chris' parents at 2:25am this morning.

Just a few key highlights:

1. My store was looted during the eye of the storm.
2. HUGE trees inches from my computer window at my apartment.
3. Area that we stayed in got the worse of the storm.
3. But the news just loves to talk about MIA and Dade County.
4. Its a four way stop you SOBs!
5. Cell phones are on the frtiz in some area.

So yea. Oh and Leg, if Fla goes to Cuba, I'm moving to another country.

We're hearing by Nov. 22nd, all of Broward County should have power. Fun. I might be staying here for a while. Its a nice change to live in a house for a bit, but I still miss my little apartment.

So... is the store open or are you getting paid while they clean it up/restock/etc?

Frigging people who want video games over food. I could rationalize breaking into a supermarket over GameStop.

Good to hear that you're OK... from what I read, Broward County got CREAMED and it seems like you're confirming that. Oy... "dirty side" of the hurricane indeed.

Almost a month for power to return? Wow.. that's a bummer.
Glad your cats are okay, and nothing of yours was too badly damaged.

I hope she´s getting paid but I wouldn´t be surprised if they didn´t do it.

And people are desperate for videogames these days.

Or it's a family of smart people. 2 go to the grocery store, 2 go to the videogame store, and then they meet up full of goods for everyone.

..Not that it's right.

You would think we would do a store-wide inventory before opening, right? HAHAHHAHA! I was by there today and we had power, so we're going to be open tomorrow. Plus the curfew is a bit later now (11pm until 6am) so we'll be open for regular hours. The store is still a mess, and until its clean, I won't open. Screw opening at the normal time. They should be lucky that I'm heading their so early.

I was suppose to be off on Mon. and Tues., so I didn't get paid for those two days, but I did get paid for Wed. and today.

"FPL is aware of the widespread power outages in your area and we are working to quickly restore your service.

Due to Hurricane Wilma, power restoration may take longer than usual.

This is Thursday's update as for South Florida.
A restoration date for your county is available, so you can plan.
Restoration in Broward County will be complete by November 22
Many people will have power restored before these dates.
As we learn more we will keep you informed through local media and FPL.com.

We know being without electricity can be an inconvenience. We are working hard to restore your power as quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience."

Fun. Just like how much fun it was to stand in line for 5 1/2 hours for propane. Oy.....

Yes, although in a place like Florida you'd just be hot and sticky and what have you.

At least it's not in Quebec in the winter where the cold will kick your ass if you didn't have power for a few days.

Trust me, Colleen, it's not as nice as you might think here in Florida when you have no power. I lost power last year due to Francis, and it sucked major ass.

One of the things nobody seems to think about is the food. We ended up losing like, $300 or $400 in food, because there was no way we could eat it before it went bad.

It doesn't matter where you live: When you lose power, it's a pain in the ass, and it sucks. Hard.

And I didn't know Anya worked at GameStop... Hmm... Deals, deals, deals...

Thankfully, we didn't go food shopping before the storm. We didn't have a thing in the fridge to lose anyway, save for mustard and items like that. Oh, and some eggos.

Got the power back at my apartment on Friday morning, but the cable and net are out. Something about a main line being damaged. Might take up to a week to fix.
