| I had this friend of mine who registered at my website. He was always nice, but he's started to go bad. It started a week ago, where he threated to tell my parents that I have pr0n on my computer (which I don't, in fact) and that my ROM collection was illegal. He said he wouldn't if I made him an Admin on my forum. So I did for my own good. He went around and began editing peoples posts and accounts and set his post count to almost 1000. The other Admins and Mods decided we should rebel against him. So we set up a fake Admin group and blocked his access. Now, he says that if I don't re-admin him, he will call my parents and spill the "beans" (which are mostly fake) He also wants 20 dollars... or else. What do I do? My existance is at stake! |

| He's not really your friend, he's an idiot. I'd call his bluff, tell him to go ahead and call your parents. Or tell your parents that he is blackmailing you over something that doesn't even exist. How did he get your parents' phone number in the first place?  Well, it all depends... who do you think your parents will trust more, you, or your friend? Delete the ROMs or put them in a hidden folder, unless your parents know how to use the computer... my parents happen to be really upfront with me, and I dunno how yours are, but I don't see why they'd trust some kid over you.  I may very well be lucky, but my parents don't even care that I have ROMs on my computer. In fact, it was my Dad who introduced me to them  He's really immature if he's deciding to do something so silly over an INTERNET forum. why does it matter what your friend does? It's not like they'll believe him. What kind of friend would that be anyway? Do you know this friend in real life? Have they met this friend? Just tell your parents the truth. Tell them the ROMS are umm...that they're free. It's not like they'd know anyway  . |

Just explain that he's balckmailing and messing up your board, and you're tired of it. If they don't know about the site.. maybe you should tell them? Your "friend" is being a jackass. | My mom knows ROMs are illegal. She cares less. So does my brother and actually, my whole family.... About the porn thing....... Delete him from your email. Quick. He might be up to something like signing you up for crap. No friend does a friend that way. I have a friend, sure I (nowadays jokingly) ask for ops and he won't do it. He's still one of my good friends. If you have one of those cell phones or call listing type thingys sometimes you can actually BLOCK calls. So, actually, he has no grounds. He'll sound like a sniveling tattle-tale to them. Don't worry about him, and ban him! |

| I guess my parents HAVE seen me use the ROMs for the last 7 years or so. They never saw trouble with emulators. Also, I never said he was a friend, I said "friend" or so-called friend. Just clearing stuff up. He got on YIM and apologized, but I am unsure I wanna believe him. He simply SAID it, and that isn't enough evidence to me. Of course, it could just be he wants out now, since I was talking to another friend (a REAL friend) about it and he said later that he went and beat the idiot up. He's agreed to not blackmail me as long as I don't mention my website to him again. His new excuse for wanting Admin position was so he could be on equal terms with the second Admin, whom he hates immensely. He had planned to IP ban that Admin because of his burning hate of him. The real Admin went ahead and IP banned him, since he wants nothing to do with my site any more. Now the trouble is that I can't get him to go away; he's trying to act as if it never happened. But this guy's always been trouble making, and I've really seen now that he's from the wrong crowd. I want him out of my life, but he keeps following me. I've been warily checking my email and I haven't seen any newsletters appearing in my Inbox or Spam. So I think he meant it. Either way, I'm going to be keeping a close lookout. | Talk to your parents before you un-Admin him. If you show them how you don't have porn and that your ROM collection isn't really a bad thing, then they'll know when your 'friend' tells them about it. Plus, who are they gonna trust? Their child or their child's friend? |

| I had a friend like that. He had been my friend for 11 years but he be became an asshole. He was stealing things from me but one day he stole me a mp3 player and my lvl 73 account from a game named Runescape the same day. So the next time he came to my house I yelled at him, then broke his nose on my front door and I never saw him again. But I don't recommand you break your friend's nose...When he wants to see you just always tell him "I can't" or make dumb excuses. After a while he's going to understand that you don't wantto see him. |
