Well, I installed Media Center Edition 2005 yesterday and got lots of problems but most of them are fixed already except this, some services won't start after I restart my computer. I.e. the theme service doesn't start, the Network Connection doesn't start, the DNS Host doesn't start and some other ones. I have to start them each to Windows starts, but it annoys me as hell. Does someone know how to auto start those services without going into the Control Panel - > Administrative Tools -> Services and start them manually? Thanks in advance.

try this, go Start -> run -> Services.msc then all the services that you usually have to start manually, make sure under startup type, its at automatic, not manual, this should make them start automatically. to change it, just double click on it, and set the startup type to automatic...if they are on automatic and wont start up, im not really sure what the problem is then... |

I'm not sure but cam Service Pack 2 cause that problem? Because when I installed Media Center 2005, it asked me for the SP2 but I didn't have. The odd thing is, that Windows says it's installed. I really need help and would the SP3 fix the problem?

actually, there is a SP3 Preview...it has many fixes...im not 100% sure if its official or not, but ive seen it on a website....ill see if I can find the link. edit:here is where its from http://www.thehotfix.net/sp3.html so its not official, but the hotfix count it up in the 200's.
