Well my hack has been in the works on and off for the past year and a half, and I'm still getting used to Lunar Magic (I still don't know much about the overworld or graphics). I know some of the people that told me to join Acmlm's board have played the older version of my hack I've released (heard some good things and some bad), and I've now added a bunch of stuff and have changed around a few things. Here is some info: Mini-Quest: Find Kolorado Koopa's Lost Treasure! (Will you decode the clues and find it?) Lots of Pop Culture and other Video Game references! Secrets, secrets, SECRETS! Screenshots (Please be gentle!): Spooky Woods: Ghost Ship - The Past: Red Switch Palace: My very own Super Mario Land level, with some twists: For the Atari 2600 fans: One more thing: I recently saw the post about the "5 levels" block. If I wanted to change it into a "96 levels" block, how could I do that? Could I change the "05" in the hex editor to "96" to make it work? I hope I'm making sense, as I've had a very rough week of work, and making my own SMW hack helps me relax. |

Here's some comments: It looks alright (See comment for the SML screenshot.) I like how the red background matches the floor. It's pretty obvious to tell that it's the Red Switch Palace. This looks nice. I like how is everything except for Mario is gray. I'm not really much of Atari fan so this screenshot is the only one I don't like |

The colours are kinda drab, especially the SML one. Try to make it closer to the Game Boy's colours (or make an 'enhanced' version ). | |||

I would say the first screen is the best one. I like also the idea to make a level b/w, but the pallette here is badly changed. I'm not so sure about the Atari-thing. Maybe it would be a nice idea for some kind of bonus level, but I never played Atari. so I can't really say something about that. But it would be cool to make the sprites in that area that simple, too. (edited by FPI Productions on 10-02-05 07:11 PM) |

Might as well throw in my input. 1. It looks nice - but I don't like the colour on the eerie. 2. Looks pretty good - is it underwater? 3. This is one of your best shots - my favourite colour happens to be red, so I love this one. You might wanna try getting corner and edge tiles instead of cement blocks though. 4. WOOT SML OMG OMG. I like it 5. ....no. Just . . . no. How the hell are you supposed to navigate through a level with like 2 colours? Your screenshots look great - I just really, and truly don't like the atari one. Sorry. |

1. Good. 2. I always like grayscale levels for some reason... 3. Dang, that looks EXACTLY like my red switch palace >_> 4. I think he's trying to make it look like you're playing on a Game Boy here. If you were really playing on a GB though, it would have a very distinct green tint. 5. No comment Overall, I like very much. Got any more for us to look at? : |

Thanks for the comments thus far. Actually, the Atari 2600 Adventure screen is just one little area (one screen wide), no one will probably ever find it anyways, so don't worry too much about it I'll try some new colors with the B/W levels. I'd post more screenshots, but imageshack is loading really slow right now. |

Aren't you the dude (I guess dudette from the name color...) I recommended post here on GameFAQs? If so, welcome. I'll just throw out an all encompassing ditto on all previous remarks, even ones that contradict others. I like your work so far, the only criticism really is the Atari level. If it's a secret that's very hard to find, all well and good, cuz I've been meaning to do something similar (though maybe not so... archaic) for a secret level as an homage to an old game I loved to death. But if it's necessary to travel through it to proceed in normal gameplay, it could get very annoying to say the least. |

I guess I'm the first 2600 fan to actually see this, and I'll say you can make a level with an Atari 2600 background, but please pick a more advanced game. Maybe Solaris, Moon Patrol, California Games...anything where you can actually tell what the background objects are despite their deficiency in number of colors. |
