It is way different than the Yugioh we Americans are used to. In this series Yami Yugi is one evil son of a bitch. Its really scary the way he acts. Very Chucky like "Wanna play a game" Than he tricks you and tells you that you are playing a shadow game and in some way you end up dying or going crazy cause you cheated or he won. Its just freaking insane. Also duel monsters is barely in the series. Anyway anyone else know more about the series? Maybe a place I can get all the episodes? It hasn't been made here in america(too violent) so its not illegal. Anyone else want to add anything I'm missing?

Did I mention Yami yugi is crazy(like kill you in a moments notice crazy)

Yeah there is, my sister downloaded one of the episodes, I'll ask her where see got it.

She isn't here right now, but I'll edit this post later.

Edit:

Hey!
I'm Asj. Glad some kids are interested in Yu-Gi-Oh! on here.

Well... First Kazuki Takahashi made the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. It didn't really have to do with Duel Monsters at all at first. But after mentioning the game, everyone liked it and he made the rest of the manga all about it.
The first manga has some stuff with Kaiba and Mokuba, and some other stuff, a lot to do with Yugi and Yami... Yami and Kaiba duel two times at the beginning of the manga. Kaiba loses both times. The first loss is why he made the Death Themepark, but he ended up losing there as well and that's when Yami "Heart Breaks" him. Kaiba then goes into a coma to rebuild his heart. Then there's Bakura's game where the characters are actually playing their selves. After that, Duelist Kingdom starts and then it's called Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelist.

Then a company wanted to make a show off of Takahashi's comic. This is the first series of Yu-Gi-Oh!. It didn't even get to Duelist Kingdom, though.
The anime had a lot more to do with Kaiba then the manga - making up some game bosses or something. When Yami and Kaiba duel the first time, it's changed to a tie. And the characters' hair colors were changed. It ended... around Bakura's game, I think.

A different company decided to try a series after the other one didn't work. Only this one started where the other left off. It's completely about Duel Monsters and most of the characters have their original hair colors and things.
Only in this series, they had to fix a few things... See, they combined the first of Yu-Gi-Oh! with Duelist Kingdom. Bakura's duel with Yami in the woods was actually the RPG in the first series (and manga as well, I believe). And Kaiba's first duel with Yugi was a combination of their two duels in the manga.
This series was very popular and lasted throughout the rest of the manga. Even making it over to the US. It's very simular to the manga, but a few things have been changed. They've left out some stuff in the series. Like in the Aftermath episode, the manga shows Seto guiding Kaiba out of Pegasus' castle and shows how Mai gets off of the island. It also shows Pegasus after Bakura's extraction... And shows Bakura actually licking blood off of the Millennium Eye. (I think it doesn't show blood in the anime. And it doesn't even show the scene in the dubbed version.)

Hmm... About downloading episodes... I know there was a site somewhere, but I don't remember where. But janime.info has a lot of information about the first series, the manga, and at least some about the Duel Monster's series. So you can go there to learn more.
Cody's site is really nice. Cody has episode summaries that compare and contrast the Japanese and dubbed versions of the anime. His site is yu-jyo.net
(hee, hee... I wanted to make my table perfect. Now why in the world are my links pink?! That's just weird.)

There have been three different fansubs on this series, but none of them are completed. One group has only subbed a single episode, another 6, and the last one 10 or so (the group with 6 subbed episodes have the highest quality subs, though).

It's an entartaining little show, but it doesn't follow the manga as much as most manga-based animes. A lot of material is skipped, a chunk of new material is added, and a lot of stuff is changed for no appearant reason (including a number of the games). Miho, who made a single appearance in the manga, has recieved a personality makeover, and is now a main character.

But, we don't ask for fansubs here, so you'll have to find it yourself.

Oh, and as explained in the quote, it's not the first season of the Yu-Gi-Oh! airing in the US, but a different series made by a different company, with different animators and voice actors.

Wow, that'd be creepy to watch . It'd be way better than the Yugioh here in America for sure. I tried watching a little of that one when there was a lack of satelite and it was boring..all they did was have a duel and what not. I'd like to see this .

actually the reason we can't bring that series here, its not made by the people who did duel monsters. We butcher everything in america I hate american television, we can show 2 people doing it (even though its still fake but anime isn't "real" either) but we can't show any fully unedited anime on TV...

Companies tend to do two things with imports: Translation and localization. Translation is helpful to understand what is being said. Localization is the dangerous part. It can either be to make odd things (from our perspective) more understandable (For instance, the Japanese way of referring to their elders as "Grandfather" or whatever), but also tends to be to force it into a certain age group. Odds are that the Toei series (Season #0, as in the topic title) will never come here. If nothing else, licensing issues exist.

I remember that D&D-style part in the manga. Holy shit, that was awesome. I remember that Hiroto had this TOTALLY SWEET gun that shot giant lightning energy beam things. Looked like a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun with a pistol grip. Total awesome.
