Well, somehow I heard about this from AoS:
Spoiler:
Sora IS Dracula.

Is that the plot twist? Or is that even true?
(again, I've just heard that).

Spoiler:
Something like that. Sora more or less was the one that was meant to inherit Dracula's powers. The premise of Dawn of Sorrow is that an organization that had a good deity was pissed that Sora did not use Dracula's powers like prophesized (to keep the balance of good and evil), so they're setting out to kill him. Before they know it, though, Sora gets into their compund to try and surprise them before they get him.

It's very interesting, and is a plot you can get into. And yes, Julius mode was fucking awesome. Beating Death was a thrill with him.

Edited to fix spoiler.

Edit 2: Nope, that didn't work.

I'm actually not a big fan of the "replay the game with set characters" trend that Konami got themselves into with a lot of the Castlevania adventure games; aside from Circle of the Moon's replay modes, which are great and add some actual challenge to the gameplay without tinkering with the actual mechanics.

Me thinks either something's wrong with Cymoro's layout or someone screwed around with CSS.

My guess is the latter. newreply.php shows the spoiler they way it should be - concealed.

The truth about Soma (Lament of Innocence and Aria of Sorrow spoilers!):

Spoiler:
Soma is basically the reincarnation of Dracula. He possesses Dracula's soul too, so he has the ability to absorb souls. The reason why is because when Dracula was still a human, he found the Crimson Stone which he fused to his soul and used it to steal the soul of the vampire lord Walter Bernhard, which turned him into a powerful vampire. Soma has that power too, but he isn't neccessarily evil, since Dracula isn't really an evil person, he just weilds evil powers.

I'll need to pick this game up sometime in the next few months. Although I don't have a DS...and I really don't plan on buying one any time soon. I'm hoping there'll be a device to play all of Nintendo's handheld games on the Revolution... Wishful thinking.

But like, I'm sort of a Castlevania collector...to some extent...and I know I'll be kicking myself if I don't get this, 'cos a while down the road and I'll only be able to get it used, and possibly in bad condition (with a crappy box, maybe no manual, etc.).

I'll wait to get it... Till I have the money. I've got other things I'd rather buy right now. And I gotta preorder Castlevania: Curse of Darkness to get the sampler soundtrack.

Well, it's only coming out here this month so you shouldn't have to worry about finding one before the year's out I think.

Handheld games on the Rev... not likely I'd suspect. They went out of their way to say the download system was only for console games, not portables. :\

US/Canadian release is today... too bad I can't play much of it until tomorrow.

Time to waste 20+ hours of my life getting every soul to maximum level.

Apparently wont be here until tomorrow. Might just check on Friday.
This game is getting amazing reviews everywhere. It seems to rival SotN in a lot of ways.

I think it was just shipped today, but I know most stores will have it in for sale tommorow.

So, as of tommorow, DoS will find it's rightful place, carassed inside my DS.

I can't wait. This game was one of the major reasons why I bought a DS in the first place.

Either this game is hella short... or I'm a grand daddy master at these games because I have 50% game completion so far and I only have two hours and twenty minutes clocked in...

Anyway... this game friggin' rules!

Meh, I only have 20% completed so far but I'm busy leveling up Soma up so I can beat a certain boss but I better start moving on. I've only got to play the game for a hour today.

I'm at about 15% myself.

So far, this game freaking rocks. The quality is like, completely on par with SoTN, maybe even better (framerate, and everything).

The music is also great.

I like how you use the top screen.

But yeah, so far, I'm loving this game!
Just hope it's long, I DID hear the castle is supposedly larger than SoTN's, guess we'll all find out.

The game is very short, but the castle seems pretty big... but there is almost no exploration involved... but hey, it's a short but sweet game. DON'T FORGET though, there's the ever-so-badass Julius mode. :3

It's also super fun to just collect souls and play around with them.

So what exactly is Julius Mode?
I take it, you replay the game as him?
(my guess from reading the other posts)

Note: I think I'm going to pick up Circle of the Moon soon. I see it a lot, but ... just to be safe, I just kind of want to get it. It's been ages since I've seen a copy of AoS, so I just want to be safe and make sure I get a copy.

I haven't gotten to into HoD yet, but from what I've played so far it also seems great.

This game's really short!?
I've reserved a copy which should be in store on Monday. The game came out yesterday, but this store is hella-slow.

I've heard that there were a few extra characters you can play through with after you beat the game. That'll certainly give it some more playing time.

I'll let you guys know what I think of it in a couple of days.

I have eight hours clocked onto my Soma game so far... so basically it's the same length as Aria of Sorrow...

Also, Julius Mode is...

Spoiler:
Dracula awakens inside Soma's body and takes over him and ressurects all the bosses and starts total takeover and Julius, Yoko, and Alucard must join up and stop him. Yes, and there's leveling up too. This mode is REALLY fun to play if you like old-school Castlevania... it's so much better than the other bonuses in the past Castlevania games!

Depends on how fast you rush through it. Im a little over 5 hours in, with 22% completion. Just in Soma's game. So I can probably get a good 50 hours out of this game total. Not half of what put into Advance Wars, but still pretty damn good.
