I should be at school right now. Its 10:38 central, second hour has been going for about 50 minutes, and I'm not there. If you can't guessed what happened, my cousin didn't pick me up this morning even though he goes to the same school, no call about him not being able to or anything.

Thats only the start though. I mainly keep to myself on a lot of things, usually in my room out of everyones way because they're all super defensive and if I say anything past "Hey." they'll take insult or something. So, now that I actually go out more (I'm 15, can't drive, and they've been complaining about me being in all the time) they'll never give me a ride or bitch about it the entire time.

So, yeah, although I know people complain about how childhood was the best thing ever, I don't think you remember what its like. Depending on people sucks, I'd gladly sacrifice the "bliss" of not having responsibility to be able to completely take care of myself and not have to really depend on anyone.

Does your cousin usually pick you up, then I assume? Do you know if your cousin could have been in some kind of accident or did he just not pick you up?

So why didn't you just walk to school?

Keeping to yourself is bad. Get over it.

Childhood/adolescence is the worst time in one's life, because it is where one decides to live up to other's expectations rather than their own. We then assume fake roles, we lie and don't even notice it and we keep secrets(Like when someone asks "How are you?", and we involuntary reply "I'm fine, how about yourself?" - Many times, I have found that I felt like shit, and could give half a fuck how this dumbass feels today yet I've still ended up replying with "I'm fine, how about you?" ). If you have a problem with trusting other, stop doing it, simple as that.

I live in a town, we have no mass transit system, my leg has been messed up for the last few days, its a 2 mile walk to my school.

Can you see why I decided not to walk?

Yeah, he usually picks me up, at least he's been lately. He has a cell phone, his brother who also goes to the same school has a cell phone, so if he couldn't come he should've called, no one called. It doesn't matter though, its not like missing a day will hurt in the long run. Go go B days where I only have 3 classes.

I'm not the type of person to be fake, or go on others standards. When they impose standards I will likely just ask them to fuck off. Thats why I don't speak very often with my family.

I need to stop keeping things to myself too. I do that a lot and it would be better to tell people how you're really feeling. It is best not to completely rely on someone. You should have had a backup plan in case something like this occured. I was thinking the same thing..that maybe he had an accident or got sick or something. Childhood is a good thing..just when it's mixed in with more responsibilities is where it gets blah. I could barely go anywhere as well due to my parents having to take care of my grandma so someone had to be at home at all times. My mom took a night job so couldn't go anywhere Friday nights. They were strict..couldn't go a whole lot of places but just enjoy things the best you can.

To me, the ability to rely on oneself utterly and completely is the pinnacle of freedom. My advice, Dracoon, would be for you to get a part-time job as soon as you can; try to get something close so you can bike or walk your way there. The idea here is to not spend a single cent of the money you make. See, the genius is, you have someone who pays for your lodging, food, clothing and transportation; you can keep all the money you make. If you're only fifteen, collecting your funds for several years will get you off to a terrific start once you do get out on your own.

For now, find something you love to do - a hobby, a talent, a sport - and do it as often as possible, to keep your mind off your unreliable relatives. That's my advice.

Slay: Thats actually some really good advice. I live about 2 blocks from main street (why is the school on the other side of town?) and could easily not have to spend any money on gas or anything else.

Crim~: Its not that my leg isn't feeling well, its that I have weight lifting and over exerted it the muscle.

Bella: Keeping certain things to yourself isn't bad, its when you'd rather isolate yourself from people in general when it becomes a problem.

ah, i'm 15 years old too. i sadly found out that relying on other people doesn't work either... i discovered this during my freshman year when i never got a reliable ride. my brother was a senior. he was also the special teams MVP of the football team. his first class was with the special teams coach. he never had to be on time.
but i did. my first class was with a business teacher. that wasn't pretty. i had 12 tardees all throughout the school year. my brother had 0. for me it is actually GOOD considering every time i made it in i had at least 30 seconds to get to class... and he parks way away from the school. he'd even tell me how long i had to get to class.
i wasn't pleased, and my parents did nothing.
and slay, i wish i could do that(the job thing.). problem is i live hella far away from the nearest town(around 15 miles), which would destroy my free time... which is why i don't want a job until i've got a reliable ride... i wish i still lived in wisconsin sometimes. i'd be much better off.
stupid kentucky. HAVE PLACES.
though.. i do live near farms.. maybe i could get jobs working there, though i'm not much into agriculture.

I had this problem last year, too. My brother had to drive me, because lowerclassmen aren't allowed to drive to school. But he plays baseball, and thus had to stay after school almost daily.. making me have to either walk home the few miles, or wait for him to finish baseball.
I would ask friends for a ride, but it's always inconvenient when the parents are the ones that have to drive.

My advice would be.. a bike? If not, try to find someone who can drive you without ditching last minute. And as soon as possible, get a job so you can eventually drive yourself. That's always better.

Do you want me to fix the title?

I know this overall feeling, when I was in high school, the only way to get to my job was to walk, which was kind of miserable, hehe. Now I'm older, and I still feel like I'm relying on family too much, but I'm hopefully moving out a little soon so that might end.

Danielle: Sure, spelling isn't my strong point, its either a combination of not caring, or just random typos here and there that make it so horrible.

Yeah, I guess being 15 is just that age when it has the biggest effect on you becase people start blamming you for things that are beyond your control!

No, actually it wasn't that bad, I hurt my knee since I was braced with it, but its not limiting.
