The "late"est cd from rapper Kanye West, and I must say that I'm impressed
There are many standout tracks, those are the facts
Gold Digger is plain catchy, and Diamonds From the Sierra Leone pushes a serious point
Overall, this effort by Kanye doesn't disappoint

All rhyming aside, I wasn't sure what to expect, considering Kanye is smack dab in the middle of mainstream rap, something I'm wary of (see Cent, 50 and whatever else is "crunk" at the moment).

There are one or two tracks which I didn't catch the name of first time around I listened to that were kinda iffy, but overall I enjoyed this cd.

8.5/10

Haha, you late buyer!! Nah, I bought this CD the day it came out. I'm not sure which I like most, College Dropout or this CD. I think he has a powerful voice. Even though he is mainstream I think that he does a good job at getting points across..even though I don't really like his attitude sometimes ..one of the local radio stations were here and interviewing him and asked him if he really meant certain quotes and why he'd charge a church for him to sing Jesus Walks for some fundraising I think..but then he basically said that why can't I charge as much other people have. Anyways, that's an off thing but I loves his music. I haven't heard the CD since last week so but I did like it! I need to hear it more closely. When I do listen to it I dont get to hear it all the way through so I need to do that. I'd give it 4 mics..or an 8/10

I was going to get it, but I was too busy looking for the limited edition one (which isn't worth it) to get it while it was on sale. So I ripped my girlfriend's copy. Me likeeeee.

It should be noted that the original version of "Diamonds (From Sierra Leone)" doesn't have the knowledge-dropping. Just the remix with Jay-Z.

Oh, and the skits don't suck, by the way. "This brother has been eating EVERY. DAY. Can you believe that?"

Wake up Mista West!
mista west.
mista west

Hahah I love that lead in to Hear 'Em Say, with Adam Levine. Usually I don't like it when an artist has a lot of guests on their cd (see Dre, Dr.) but West does it good.

Kanye West.. all I think about when I hear that name is his breakout on national television about Hurricane Katrina and how Bush is racist.

I've heard of this CD, but I have not listened myself. Rap isn't really my thing unless it's Toxic making the rhymes. ^___^

Hah! I might bring back MCJ just for kicks. Although I'd come up with a better rap name this time around.

Yeah, Kanye's saying all types of..off the wall things .

Dr Dre is cool .

Kanye does a great job on the beats as always too. It's a must hear. Is it at #1? I haven't checked..shame on me. I usually follow the charts..

I like Dre, it's just that he has too many people in on his records.

I should actually get one of his records . All I've heard from him is either from my cousins..just random songs but not CD's. I need to check up on those many guest spots. I think I do remember lots of artists..
