Yesterday I purchased:

- Secret of Mana (SNES)
- Star Ocean II (PSX)
- Metal Gear Solid (PSX, I sold my copy years ago, just wanted it again)
- Kinteca (PS2, I randomly bought this game. I played it when it came out a few years ago and loved it, saw it, and picked it up).

All for $88.xx dollars.

Yeah, I really took advantage of Vintage Stock's 25% off videogames sale this weekend.

Quite the deal I'd say.

And there's used pawn shops here that still try to charge you $20 for a NES game. And I've seen some pretty stiff SNES prices too. (Which is why I don't really collect...)

Oh.. cheap, I have a Gameshop wich tries to sell various NES-Games at CHF 20-60 (divide trough 1.5 to get USD). And all just carts. no packages or manuals.

There used to be shops like Gamestop and more that sold used and traded-in SNES games for dirt cheap, I've always been hoping to score a copy of SMRPG at one of these. But guess what? Now suddenly every one of these stores that I've been into no longer is selling used and traded-in SNES games at all.

Well why wouldn't they? The games are so rare these days, and are just getting even more rare by the moment.

Gamestop's around my area stopped selling anything beyond N64 and PSX games a few years back, and sense then I've had to rely on Pawn Shops and local stores to find old games.

Yeah, I've easily dished out huge amounts of money ($40 for Megaman X2, $30 for Final Fantasy III, $25 for Super Mario RPG, $40 for Secret of Mana, and so on), but if you look around online, it's not like your'e going to find these games any cheaper).

Maybe it's just me. I see a lot of value in older games, and don't mind handing over a lot of money for that: 1) I just love SNES and old school games. 2) I look at them with a lot of value and as collectors items. 3) It's such a better experience than emulating games on the PC, in my opinion.

I finally finished putting all my games into the list at IGN, so now you can find a complete list here. Now, there's something you should be aware of while looking at that list.

With the exception of Gamecube, DS, and PC, a good portion of the games don't actually belong to me only. I don't remember who owns what now, so the way we look at them is that we all own them, since we all play them. When it comes to N64 though, I listed only the games that I own either partially or completley. Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong 64 were given to me and my brother as Christmas presents, since we both wanted those games, so you could say we both own them. My brother bought some N64 games himself, including Majora's Mask and Super Smash Bros., and I can't exactly put them on my list, since I don't own them

That should be pretty much complete though. The only group that seems to be missing a few games is the PC category, as I simply listed the games that were in the computer cabinet, and the ones I could remember that I couldn't find. The only PC game that I know we own that I couldn't find in IGN's list is Mario Teaches typing.

For now though, that list is pretty much complete

Adventure Island 3 - NES

I take it the Super Adventure Island games didn't follow the previous ones? (in order)

I just thought there were two of those games, one for the NES, and SNES. Guess I'll have to check them out.

I myself own a copy of Adventure Island 2 for NES, so it could be more like ports or something of Adventure Island.

I´ve played Adventure Island with one of my childhood friends a very long time ago.

It wasn´t a NES we played it on.

I'm not actually sure what order those games came out in, if you're referring to Adventure Island 3 in my collection. It's actually the only Adventure Island game we own, which doesn't help The only thing I do know about it is that we consider the sound that plays once to beat the first boss to be cursed It plays a small bit of music, then plays one solid note until the screen fades out, but the game is quite likely to freeze at that point, so the sound continues playing until you reset the game. That's on the actual NES though. I assume there wouldn't be problems playing it in an emulator.

Now, I forgot to add one game to my list, so it's there now (it should be easy enough to find) and I also hope to buy Oracle of Ages and Pac 'n Roll at EB Games tonight. The former is rather old, and I don't know how to get through the Goron Mountain area (even after playing through the game nearly 10 times on my computer) but I still want it As for Pac 'n Roll, the only thing I've seen of it so far was a movie that came in a bonus DVD in Nintendo Power, and although I'm not really a fan of Pac-Man, it looks quite fun Pretty much the same thing happened with Pac-Pix. I liked what I saw in the movie, and the idea behind the game seemed interesting as well, so I bought it.

As things stand now, the list isn't complete, as there are still games I want, but it's pretty close to it

If you can build a tower, about 1 meter tall, out of GBA Cartridges, does that mean I have too much sparetime and too much GBA games?

Off the top of my head...

Adventure Island (NES) (Otherwise known as Wonder Boy. )
Adventure Island 2 (NES) = Adventure Island (GB)
Adventure Island 3 (NES) = Adventure Island 2 (GB)
Adventure Island 4 (Famicom, English translation patch available)

Super Adventure Island 1 + 2 were both different games; 1 was more the classic gameplay style, 2 was an action/adventure mix that wasn't half bad. Kinda like AI4.

I've just added two more games to my list. They should be easy enough to find For convenience, here's a link to my collection page. The only thing I have to say about both games is that I find the voices in Pac 'n Roll to be absolutely awful Especially how they're so repetitive in the dialog I do like the rest of the game though, and as for Oracle of Ages, provided I can make it through the Rolling Ridge area (I never have before, even when using an emulator), then I can safely say I'm quite happy that I bought it as well

Looking at the GameFAQs pages for the games I want to get, I see a few of them are supposed to be released soon, so chances are that list will get updated yet again before too long. For now though, that's it, as usual.

Edit: It's "collection". Not "collegtoin"

GameFAQ's is a good source. I usually refer to it for reviews on games.

I just recently bought another handful of games: Sonic Adventure (DC), Fear Effect, Parasite Eve, and Resident Evil 2.

I'm probably done buying games for awhile now, since I need to save up for the Xbox 360.

Eh... I guess GameFAQs can be good for reviews as long as you have a good mix of them from smart/stupid people.

GameRankings is great for just getting a general feel of what the press things, though.
