This was released two days ago in America, and Wal Mart (two days after) still did not have it. It was found at Best Buy. Until two weeks ago, I had never heard of it. A friend of mine had been telling me that's a new game that Tri Ace had been developing. Considering I hadn't been keeping up on new games, it wasn't surprising I hadn't heard of this. But then I bring up the game in IRC, and nobody's heard of it. After spending the obligitory $50 on it, I finally got a chance to try it out. It uses a more advanced and slightly tweaked Star Ocean 3 battle system. The graphic style is a lot like Suikoden III or Tales of Symphonia. So far I'm quite satisfied with the game, and I'm only about 10 minutes into it. Thoughts? |

I HEARD of it via GI but I wasn't obliged to toss yet another 50 dollars towards the game when I barely have had time to attack Makai Kingdom as it is. It looked okay. It didn't seem to be an RPG that stood out other than the fact that it was published by Square-Enix and that was about it. Taking a look at some of the reviews makes me think it's about the same too aside from noting that the humor is there that most RPGs lack, especially some of the lines I've seen from the screenshots, which makes me wonder if it's another Disgaea in that resolve. Looks like it's actively talked about, which I guess I should've expected, but not as much so from a non-seriesed RPG. I might see what I can do about it later on but...50 bucks and another RPG after Makai...I dunno... |

It looked "alright", but after randomely spending $50 on say, Growlancer awhile back, I don't think I'll be going out again and purchasing an RPG I know hardly anything about ... Really though, it didn't look all that bad. The battle system is what really got my attention. |

The game has been quite fun so far. I kinda like the "kick some random people to get into fights" element, means I have to be careful who and what I kick. The only thing that annoys me so far is the controls. Circle to talk, X to kick and explore, and not customizable. X is accept in menu's, circle cancels. =\ |

It's neat, but I'd rather play Makai Kingdom. And I thought Growlanser kicked ass. |
