I have noticed people with special fonts, and I want the same. How can I do this?

Go to Edit Layout. In the header, place <font face=FONT>
In the signature, place </font>

Make FONT whatever font you like. For example, if I want Chicago.. Then here we go.

Keep in mind that if you specify some odd font you downloaded, it's likely that no one else has it and will not be able to see it. It's not necessarily a bad thing, like if you only care about what you see. It's your call.

We can still see the post if we don't have whatever font, the browser will just choose another one. Not a huge problem.

When I had my old Baldur's Gate layout, I used a font called Samurai. Since I was sure most people didn't have it, I offered it as a download at the bottom of my sig. Then, anyone who wanted it, could just download and install it.

Isn't there a way to put font in a layout to the end that you don't necessarily have to have the font on your computer, it can just be on some serve and 'called' up when needed?

I hope not - just think someone puts malware into his/her layout, like bypassing the "download font" dialog wirth IE somehow (and downloading/running something else then without the user's permission). I think the download-thingy-link is just enough:

Who wants to view it with the normal font, can download and install it, who not - can read the text anyway.

What I might recommend is a small thumbnail in the signature which is something like a preview of the font - so you know if the font will be worth downloading for your personal taste, or if someone is not interested it.
Better even might be a that clickable thumbnail pointing to the preview and/or to the font itself.

Only way that'd be possible would be by using GD with TrueType (or something along these lines). And then the posts could only be images.

I think it is actually possible. You convert the font to some special file type, and link to it somehow.

This has peaked my interest about color.
How do you mess with your font color?

Get fonts here.
With font color, you replace "face" with "color" and add a color. Basic things like blue, green, red, etc work fine, or use the Color Chart up above.
More font fun.

Or even better! You can use <font face=whatever font name color=#hex color code>! Killer Combo!

And don't even think about making your own font. They only programs that do it cost outrageous amounts of money (WTH makes these people think their programs are worth hundereds of dollars?), and don't have shareware versions. There have been plenty of times I've wanted to make my own font...

Making a font is also a lot harder than you'd think.

Also your attributes should be in quotes. It's required if they contain spaces. Like <font face="some cool font">. Otherwise it will think 'cool' and 'font' are more attributes.

There is one I used once. It had TrueType and Bitmap support, had a bitmap import button to trace TrueTypes from and best of all...

...it was free.

I'll link you through when I find it, but agree with Hype's "hard to do" statement. Most of my creations were bitmap fonts

Edit: That was easy to find!
