And besides the points that GoYo made, I made this game level select for another reason. When I make these games on their own with SMB1 GFX and they have their own full overworlds, there won't be level select, and there will be a challenge. This also includes SMB1.5.

Well I just played a few stages. Graphicly, it's awsome. I liked those SMB 3 bonus backgrounds in the caves. Me personally, and I noticed this in all your SMB 3 Mario's, I hate the way Mario rides Yoshi. It looks like he's standing up on him and I don't get that ride feel I get in SMW. I tried to change that in my Super mario sunshine hack, but it screws up his holding item look, but thats just me, and dosn't affect the game. It's still good, but I ran into small problems. If you take Yoshi to the last boss, you will fall trough the ground and lose. You could change this by ethier puting a No Yoshi block at the entrence to Bowser, or setting the main and midway point on Bowser level to "Enter from vertical pipe up" setting there. Also with the levels open like they are I didn't feel the need to exit to the wrap zones on those stages like I would in your SMB 1 hack or the original, or suffer some of those tough stages in TLL (even though it was hell of easier with Yoshi and the cape). It felt like a giant demo of every level in SMB/SMB TLL. I sure you had a good reason for this, though. Overall, its a great job and I will post more bugs if I see them.

Rating: 8.75/10

EDIT: Damn, he answerd the level select question. I need to type faster.....

I think the pallete of the the flag looks weird. You should make the grey border surrounding the star of the flag (not the tiny pole of the flag) black.

I don't think that pipe has to be longer than the one in the original. I think you should shorten it to the size of the original's.

The ground blocks under the 3 pipes look very weird. They should be like the other ground blocks nearby.

Also, I think you should make the starman power shorter. You should make it about the same length as the original. You should also change the music of the underground music to the bonus music from SMAS-SMB. It sounds weird with Hammer Bros. music. I think the scrolling should stop earlier in the cloud bonus of 2-2.

I mentioned in the README that Yoshi is glitchy, Link. And AP, obviously you didn't see my post where I said this is the final version.

No need to post any more glitches or suggestions, because i'm finished with this game now, so please, just don't post it, and don't make upgrade patches for this game either. As I said, if you're going to hack this, make your own levels.

Thank you and goodnight.

Sorry about that, peter_ac. I guess I won't post any more glitches, then.

EDIT: I did read about your post that it was the final version. I just thought that you should upgrade anyway. But like I said, I won't post any more glitches.

AP just being picky,I'm just stating whats there and what (i guess now) could have been. I did read the readme.txt. Remember when you post this:

"Please report any glitches you find. If there are too many, I will withdraw this and make v1.2 soon"

As slow as I type, I just found out you post this:

"I'm glad so many people like this! But there isn't gonna be another version. SMB2 is next!"

I also wonder why you wouldn't want anyone to edit the levels on the map so they can be "beten then move to the next level" fasion. Since you have it open, I going to change it like that just for me (and my brother since he like your SMB 1 remake) to add some fun and challenge to this great remake.

Link2004, that's perfectly okay as long as you don't release your modified version. And yeah, I guess I better fix that readme, just to let people know that I've decided that this definitely WILL be the final version.

Guys, it's Peter_ac's hack, and he can do whatever he very well damn pleases with it.

And if he asks you NOT to copy or modifiy it, then don't.

But, anyway, I've played your hack, peter_ac, and I must say I am very, very, very, very impressed with it. It sure bought back good memories of the game!

I am looking forward to your next creation!

Great! I love the bounce trick you used when you stomp an enemy! Amazing! Congratulations! I hope that now people would make new and fun hacks basing them on this one! The Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom castle is really impresive! Keep it up and I now will wait for SMB2! Thanks pete!

Hahahahahaha. This is just too funny to me. Nintendo tells us not to modify these things, or even own them, and its illegal to do so, but we do it anyway. One guy tells us not to when he has absolutley no right to the game itself, and we listen to him? Not to disrespect anyone, but the irony kills me.

Well, I just wanted to state that this is really good. I am amazed how much work you put into this.
Of course there is a possibility to make it better (e.g. putting original bowser into the game), but this would require quite a lot of asm and time, so I just thank you for what you have done and for the fun I have with this.

I like the sound of that. You probably should make four versions, one with mario, luigi, toad, and peach. Unless you can hack to the extent of chooseing a character. But I highely doubt it.

No matter what, I am sure it will come out well.

There a weird bug in 8-4 when you go to fight bowser, the entrance point is lower than normal, making you fall in the beginning of the fight, And why not use the L pad of E-world to change to luigi

Pretty good, pretty good. I like the area at the beginning, because it's just... there. People should make more areas like that. Areas that are just... there.

The levels are all pretty good, with lots of different graphics that all fit and lots and lots of levels to play on.

Really, though, "I don't want to hear about any more bugs" is a terrible attitude.

OK. Either you tried going in with yoshi, or you have a bad copy of the rom.

I want to know how you got the SMB music in this hack. I thought you can only use SMB 3 and SMW music in any SMW hack.
