Do you guys know about the 256 world glitch for SMB? It only works with the first Generation japanese NESs, though. It can also cause your NES to break as you have to hit it to get the glitch working. And that´s only the first step. I´m too lazy to convert the whole text into english. |

I'm certainly interested to hear about it, but I don't think it counts as a glitch. Just like removing the cartridge in OoT.

I remember another world glitch in SMB(NES)... where you had to swap the cart and soft reset. This sometimes takes you to a normal world, though.

Originally posted by HyperHacker Okay, here goes. Hit Super Mario Bros, then pull out the cartridge without turning the power off. Then put Tennis in there and push the reset button. Push start and play Tennis for a short while. Then pull Tennis out without turning the game off and put in Super Mario Bros again. Push the reset button and when the game starts, push the A button at the same time you push start. Depending on how much you moved in Tennis, you´ll get to one of the 256 worlds. Phew. |

Hm... Sounds like SMB is just depending on memory being set a certain way when it starts up, instead of clearing the memory it's going to use beforehand, and Tennis uses the same piece of memory for something else. I can't see why hitting the game would be necessary at all.

Actually, I don't think hitting the game would make this glitch work. O.o And it doesn't necessarily only use Tennis, IIRC. |

I know there's a bug with spinnig blocks in SMW. In the special stages (some star road stage) where you have to go down by breaking the blocks, if you move always to the right you eventually get smahed to the right wall. That could be because there cannot be more than 4 blocks spinning

Yeah, something weird happens that sends Mario shooting off in whatever direction, often into the wall. It's fun!

The stairs in SM64? I think you gotta have enough stars to get past it. :p Never found any other glitches. X_X

Originally posted by Bloodstar IIRC if you can get to the star that warps you to the Special world, before it actually appears, it'll lead to the test level. There's also a few level points on the miniature version of world on on the overworld that lead there. Dunno how you'd get there without cheats though. |
