Does anyone remember SMB3C for NES by X-4000 (I think it was)? well I'm trying to replicate it into Super Mario All-Stars (along with other challenge hacks), and I want to find the maker of smb3c for his constent and permission before I publicy release. He kind of got lost with cg games. Well that's pretty much all I needed from you guys, if anyone knows where he is, give me a link or an email adress.

a little on my hack

Super Mario All-Stars Challenge
Bowser and Wart are really mad at Mario and his pals, so they thought to exact ultimate revenge on them. Most levels will look familiar to the similar one and I'm totally copying smb3c, which is why I want to find the maker, and maybe smbc2.

WORK
No editor exists for this game (except for smb3 with m3I but I can't use it) so I'm a hex man. I've been thinking about adding a Lakitu that throws Hammer Bros. and Fire Spitting Hammer Bros. for smb3 (I'll mention the offsets later) but I'm not sure. I'll probably release an individual hack of this. Maybe a bit of graphic hacking and a little more ASM but that's it.

PROGRESS
Super Mario Bros.
up to W4-4 are done in smb and levels totally orignal.
Made Pirhana Plants in W1-1

Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels
Haven't started, still looking for offsets (someone want to help me)
Trying to cahnge some pirhana plant, hammer bros. stuff, and all those other cool things with smbll.

Super Mario Bros. 2
Haven't started.

Super Mario Bros. 3
Up to W2-2 and bonus leves done.
All overworlds finished.

That's all for now. I will NOT release a demo. Mainly because my site is down. If I ever get it back up, I'm still not sure.

OFFSETS
8E5E-84-Determines which sprite Lakitu throws. (Red Spiny Egg)
8E67-85-Determines the other sprite Lakitu throws. (Green Spiny Egg)
113F99-84-Same but for SMAS. (Red Spiny Egg)
113FA2-85-Same but for SMAS. (Green Spiny Egg)

So... anyone think this is some cool stuff. I'm doing this to encourage a SMAS editor. So SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

I guess I might work on SMB2 on SMAS as well. I see that no one made SMB3 for SMAS but I do.

The person you are looking for is now known as X-4000. I think he's pretty much dead to the world, I stay very active on the challenge games boards and I haven't seen him in over a year when I started finishing his zelda 2 hack.

Spel werdz rite I could help you on SMB3 on SMAS.

You need backups of SMB3 for NES
Lincolnsoft's m3i or Hukka's M3i (Linclonsoft's M3i screws up my levels in Freeform mode.)
Hex editor for windows (Like Transhexlation, I use that to Compromise NES with SNES.)
SMAS of course. (Make backups before editing)

Load SMB3 for NES into your Mario 3 level editor and Go to Save level in the M3i and Save the level as extension .m3l and load the level in m3l. First delete the current objects that don't exist on SMAS like Background clouds in the 1st backup in the NES Rom and save into your SMB3 NES ROM.
Then make your NES level in Freeform mode and save it on the 2nd backup.

Use any windows HEX Editor and compromise the 2 backups. Then open up the SMAS Rom with the HEX Edtior.

Copy offsets from the 1st backup and paste the offset in the search engine in the HEX edtior. you should be finding the object set or Enemy set here.

5XXXX Enemies
1XXXXX Objects (I think)

Copy the whole set counting the number of size enemy or object bytes and paste it on the current set onthe 2nd backup and save. Must be the seperate offset to paste.

Check the level to see what you have in SMAS.

I probabaly forgot how to do it but I haven't work on it for a long time since my brother works on Lunar Magic and haven't got a chance to Edit levels that much.

OK.
Good luck

Yeah, That's pretty much what I've been doing.
But it still isn't easy. I have been having troubles with smb3 because of a few graphics problems. But I think I will just forget about it and go ahead.

If someone can help me with one more thing... I CANNOT FIND THE LOST LEVELS OFFSETS!! All I found was level order and pointers.
example:I can make WD-4 into W1-1.
Anyways, someone want to share the fun of finding offsets?
I'm looking for level and enemy offsets, I want to change when the hammer bros. walk (in smb too), and I want to determine when Pirhana Plants turn red.

Insect, if you want to make smb2, I'd like your help.

One more thing, If I change the sprite lakitu throws, what would you like it to be?
(dont say warkitu)

I could help you on SMB2 but I never used the SMB2 discombobulator yet. But I will still try to compare the NES and SNES whenever I feel like it.

I think the offsets in SMB2 for NES and SNES is pretty much the same but I will start searching for the HEX backgrounds for SMB2.

I do not know about SMB1 yet much either but I do have the Hammer Bros. Walk on World 1 in the NES version.

It's kinda hard to find the Lost level pointers of SMB3. No level points to the lost levels. But there are the enemy and object offsets of it.

Insect, what I ment to say on finding the lost levels was finding the level offsets for smb2j... sorry. But any help with what you found could come in handy.

SMb2j huh, well I think It's completely different than the FDS version if i'm not mistaken and so is SMB1 for the SNES version.

I might think about working on SMAS for SNES hack again whenever i'm done with the NES version of Worlds A-D.

I Should start searching for the objects in SMB2j that don't exist in SMB1 by using the hex editor and write down the following objects as possible. And yes I will use the FDS to help me out. So I could or might be able to create an upside-down pipe if i know how to. I'm not the greatest ASM hacker like FuSoYa or AP.

I am NOTHING compared to FuSoYa. The ASM hacks in my hacks are not by me, you can see which ASM hacks were really done by who.

As for Lakitu, maybe he can throw Koopa shells and/or Buster Beetles.

The object values in smb2j are different than those in smb1, to let you know. I tried searching for hex and offset values with no luck, so I wouldn't base to strongly on smb1.

I kept notes on the SMB2j block values:
(Changes only):
01-Poison mush
02-? Block Coin
03-Hidden Coin
04-Hidden 1up
05-Hidden Poison
06-Hidden Mushroom
07-Brick Mushroom
08-Brick Poison
09 to 0e- Same as 05 to 0a in SMB
0f-jump stand

The values will be different if they are page flagged, though. For page flagged values, add 80.

I just analyzed that last saturday for the FDS. But it will take a lot of skill to do Smb2j out of SMAS or the FDS version. And you forgot to tell Spel werdz rite that they were in the Y Positon 0-B for these items.

Example: Binary 02 0f or 02 8f if the page is flagged.
0Y 0f is the Y positon.

Graphics problems with the Buster Beetles. But I think I can do Buzzy Beetles.
The other flaw is palette problems. I'm trying to find where the palettes are loaded.
Example: I made fire-spitting hammer bros. and they come out green.
