Alright, this is a pretty open sort of thing, could be fun.

The basic idea is of about a half dozen demi-gods playing an elaborate board game, each picking an ordinary human in the modern world, and messing with their fate, and by association, the fate of the world.

Thus we need both Gods and Mortals to play.

----

There are two kinds of beings in the universe. There are mortals and there are Gods. The former live short, brutal, pointless lives, the vast majority of them linger in drudgery and misery, the rest either die young or are mostly insane. The latter, through aeons of ennui, through sadism, through misguided idealistic meddling, but mostly because they can, spend most of their time causing the former's lives to be short, brutal and pointless.

To them, the fate of mortals is a plaything.

Literally.

The room was impossibly bright and impossibly white. It seems to be constructed at odd angles... the eye cannot find a right-angle anywhere. The strangest thing, though, is that there are no shadows.

In the middle of the room sits a round table, surrounded by couches. Ineffable couches of mindshattering splendour, naturally.

On the table sat a board game, some dice, some cards. Everything was set. Acan waited. He always did like a game of chance... and the stakes, oh my, the stakes would be high. It was going to be a delightful evening... or aeon. Much the same thing, really.

Suddenly there is a door in the room. It opens.

----

OOC: Enter and introduce yourself!

Zerodius, the ruling deity of another Possibility, arrived in the room, wearing his characteristic black high-tech armor... normal since, as a full-blooded deity, he is of pure spiritual energy and needs that armor to interact.

While Zerodius seen mortals as equals... he still knew that experiments were needed for all creatures to evolve... and what better way to experiment than to go in a Possibility where he would be unnaffected by the rules of ethics?

Indeed, in this Possibility, there are no such things as responsabilities. He does not have to care about the Laws of Physics nuking his body should he abuse his power. He does not have to care about angry mobs of mortals kicking him out of his spaceship and HQ. He does not have to satisfy the demands of the ruling council of his homeworld. He does not have to keep his fellow deities happy and safe. He does not have to fight non-stop to keep at bay the hordes of various villains all bent on taking his place as the ruler of all things.

There were no limits... exept his imagination... and maybe the other deities that would soon enter this room.

Zerodius created a chair out of thin air and sat in front of Acan.

Zerodius: "Hi. I guess an introduction would be most polite. My name is Zerodius and I'm the leader of an organisation of deities know as the "Hunters". You probably never heard of us and it isn't relevant to this game anyway."

Zerodius looked around...

Zerodius: "It looks like I'm the first to arrive. Well, I don't want to be a jerk but... I think that the light-filled room is an awful cliche. I mean... that room is awfully bland and boring!... but well, I guess it will allow us to concentrate better on the game."

Zerodius paused.

Zerodius: "Anyway... Firux should arrive very soon. I will warn you now however; Firux was a bit traumatised when her soul arrived in the body of female mortal teenager who was in love at the time she was possessed... and she never quite recovered. In fact, I could even say that Firux turned nymphomaniac from this experience. As such, don't mind her if she keeps bugging about... "stuff"..."

Zerodius paused again and then, he sighed.

Zerodius: "Sorry about rambling on so much. Anyway... I bet there are interesting informations about you, Acan, besides the fact that you're named Acan and that you made a bland, boring room for us to play a board game that, hopefully, will be the opposite of what this room is."

Acan: "Hey, do I march into your house and start criticising the decor? I *like* the simple yet Escheresque look!"

Zerodius looks unimpressed.

Acan: "Gah. Very well." *mumbles*

The room shifts and transforms. Suddenly it is dark, the walls have become stone, and there are inscriptions on the walls.

Acan: "My old digs back in Chichen Itza. I never got off on the whole animal-worship thing, a jaguar's just a jaguar, but to each their own. Drink? I *am* the god of wine, after all."

A bottle of Mount Olympus Shiraz appears in Arwon's hands, and he pours two ineffable glasses. The glasses appear to be gossamer thin upon close analysis, constructed out of nothingness. But they hold wine.

Acan: "Ah, bottled right after the Titan war. A very good aeon."

In the world of the mortals.

"Honey I'm home." called James. He was your typical husband with your typical job. However his 12 year old son, Luke, was far from typical. With an IQ 150 he was always looking to create trouble, intelligent trouble. His parents always had to orry about whhat he would do next.

He walked into thhe living room to find Katrina his wife with a very stern look on her face directed at their son Luke.

"What has he done now?" James said with a worried look on his face.
"Well today he thought it would be fun to hack into his schools network and render every single computer uesless.

OOC: (PSST, Firemaker, I want the mortals to be ordinary people living in the modern world... I think there's more scope for amusement and drama that way. Care to edit your post?)

OOC: I'll be in the modern world. Yeah... I think just a character made for this story...
---------

Another typical day in the house. No new programs on television. No new food to try out. No weird things going on anywhere.

Bored out of her mind, Myana landed onto her bed and lay on her back, her blonde hair laying all over the bed. She just stared at the ceiling and watched her ceiling fan go round and round. She began trying to stay awake, but unfortunatley she could not help herself. Her eyelids fell, making her only see nothing. She fell asleep.

In a dream... she saw a board. The board had pieces on it. She saw herself staring at it, and then she blinked, revealing her as a piece of this game. She saw shadows reaching for her, smothering her.

She saw light. She gasped. Myana sat up and looked around. In the safety of her own room...

Myana: "What the? God, what a dream. Does it mean anything?"

She clicked on her TV in her room. A program on it started airing.

Announcer: "Learn how dreams can really affect you! Call me at 57-DREAM!"
Myana: "Maybe not..."

OOC: If that is kind of not what you wanted, Arwon, please PM me telling me what to change...

Zerodius stared at the wine...

Zerodius: "I'm sorry but I won't be able to taste it. See... my Avatar is that of a souless machine and as such, lack a sense of taste. While it doesn't mean I can appreciate the quality of a good dish... the problem is that I don't actually taste it or smell it."

Zerodius stared at the glass...

Zerodius: "Well... actually, the real reason is more that I vowed never to drink anything containing any drugs. As such, I will never, ever touch wine even if it's the finest wine this side of the Universe... but well, I still appreciate it."

Zerodius stared at the glass for a bit longer...

Zerodius: "Actually, the whole speech about how this body cannot taste is false. My body is made of such a fine technology that it emulates all the senses of a flesh body. However... I already explained why I will not drink of this."

Zerodius kept on staring at the glass...

Zerodius: "I must say that, since I'm pretty bored, even seeing the wine inside being affected by gravity and wobbling like that inside the glass is enough to keep me amused until the game begins..."

CLANG!!!

The door was slammed open with a lot of force, causing the whole room to shake and causing the wine glasses to tumble over and spill their content all over Acan and Zerodius!

An unnaturally beautiful green humanoid dragon had entered the room. Her sky-blue eyes, her golden hair, her perfect proportions and curves... she was unnaturally sexy as well even to human standarts.

Firux: "Did I miss anything?"

She giggled and winked at Zerodius.

Zerodius: "Actually, you just caused the first event of this evening; which is spilling a fine wine all over me and our host, probably causing him to kick you out."

Firux: "Hey! Wasn't my fault if he keeps his dirty poison at the wrong place!"

Zerodius: "He's the god of wine. Don't call his stuff poison."

Firux: "Hey! That's the truth! Wasn't it you that said that wine i..."

Zerodius interrupted Firux before she could finish her sentance!

Zerodius: "ENOUGH!!!... err... just sit down and talk about something else, OK?"

Firux: "You sure are grumpy tonight, big daddy!"

She winked.

Firux: "Needin' some relaxing? I could really... REALLY help you out, heh!"

She winked again and this time, she blushed.

Zerodius: "Just. Sit. Down."

Firux: "Aaaaw! You're no fun!"

Zerodius: "SIT! DOWN!"

Firux: "HMPH! Alright mister grumpy!"

Firux sat down next to Zerodius, upset.

Zerodius: "I will assume all responsabilities for Firux's behaviour. Please do not blame her for those unfortunate events."

OFF: Actually, I can introduce a third character (Dreickonis) if you want... or we could wait for other users to post.
