OOC: Okay everyone, stay back-- Direct challenge to Zerodius! Normal SB rules apply, but I would appreciate it if you used a fairly stronger character than usual, because the foe you end up fighting is a tough match, moreso even than Schwa. (She doesn't have a Profile of her own, but she IS mentioned in Schwa's.) Be creative too, of course. And have fun.

"Okay, Zraku, spill it."
"...Come on, Psi Warrior. Read me like you do with everyone."

Schwa doesn't like being challenged. He decides not to play Zraku's little game.

"Zraku, you're my Guardian. You must do everything I tell you to."
"Oops! Ahm, no, and you're a moron, and go away."
"Zraku, chill! I'm going to Crystal Psipalace. Go back to the Etheral Dimmension and rest up."
"No, Schwa. Not this time. I'm DONE."
"Zraku!!"
"And don't call me Zraku anymore. It's Emily now. Just like it was 1000 years ago."

The Zraku 'Emily' opens a portal behind her, walks into it, and disappears.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Hmhmhm... I haven't been here in a LONG time. Poor Schwa..."

Emily looks around and finds herself in the Neo Universe. The surroundings are kind of eerie, strange, and tense, at the same time. Thick red sand coats the ground, like a wasted desert, and a thin red mist coats the sand, making the place look ghostly. The sky is dark reddish-purple close to the horizon, fading indigo with altitude until it's black if you look straight up. Also straight up, a huge white sphere, which could be considered either the sun or the moon (probably the sun, as it seems to emit heat and light) is visible, standing out in the black sky. There is sand in every diection as far as the eye can see, plus an orange stripe running across the sand (probably the road) and occasionally a rock or some amazing gizmo scattered in a random place.

Emily's appearance is just like any other Zraku out there; she is shaped like a sleek fox made of blue fire, with silver glowing eyes usually filled with kindness... her eyes this time, however, are bitter.

"This is interesting. Now that I don't need to help Schwa any longer, I can go wherever the hell I want. Starting with this place... Poor Schwa will NEVER get to fight Evil here, for this is a spirit dimmension, just like the Etheral Dimmension!

"Aah, I remember when I was on Phase 2 of my eternal life... after my human form died and I became a FreeSoul... I never dreamed I would still be fighting Evil then! I always thought that a FreeSoul's job was similar to mine... but nooooooo! Turns out I get to fight off Evil in the most demonic places of existance-- the Spirit Dimmensions. And now I'm back to Neo Universe, the first place I visited on my first FreeSoul mission... God, this place brings back memories..."

Odd. Though Emily has voluntarily gone to one of the most sinister places, she finds herself crying etheral tears in joy and nostalgia. Sometimes, such as times like these, she wishes she were still alive, or even a FreeSoul... And sometimes she wishes she could tell Schwa about what being a FreeSoul is like, or even a Zraku like her... but it's not right to do that. So she plays second fiddle, "helping out" Schwa... but Schwa has pushed it too far this time. After this argument, she's NEVER going back. EVER.

She lays down in the sand, emotionally tired... and just thinks to herself. She doesn't suspect anyone to come, at least not soon, but she's in a sinister Spirit Dimmension and it could happen at any time... She's not worried, though. Emily contains power even Schwa could never muster, and should any Evil creature come looking for her, they won't stand a chance.

OOC: I chose the scenery with your tastes in mind. And as a reminder, the foe doesn't HAVE to be "evil", but it's your call.

OFF: You asked for a strong foe? You're getting a strong foe! The foe you'll face is a bit weird in many ways... but I'll let you find out for yourself!

Also... the foe is not really evil in the way that he's/she's not hurting people intentionnally... but well, I'll let you make conclusions about the challenger yourself.

____________________________________________________________________

???: "HELP!!! HELP PLEASE!!!"

A soul was flying toward Emily... and it was obvious that something was wrong. This soul... parts of it were missing. It was as if something had taken out bites of it as if it was cottoncandy or something... and only a REALLY powerful being can do this...

???: "It... It... It got... all of my family... please... help me..."

SLAAAASH!

A large, bone speak had passed right throught the soul's chest... or more exactely, what was left of it. The soul looked down to see the bone blade... and then, all light disappeared from it's eyes as it smiled. An empty look of souless serinity appeared on the soul's face... it's mind... was void.

The spear wiggled around... it was not a spear! It was a tentacle!

Seven red, ugly eyes appeared on the tentacle and it retreated back into the sand, bringing the soul down into the depths of the earth with it...

Then, the whole wasteland seemed to shake as the creature sleeping within awakened...

FWOOOOOSH!!!

???: "Mamma!"

A GIGANTIC monster had came out of the sand, crying out to Emily as if it was it's mother...

The creature was a gigantic collection of souls all fused together, forming a compact sphere. Three pairs of large angel wings were visible on the back of the sphere and many more tentacles like the one that had empaled the poor soul was visible.

Speaking of the empaled soul... it was at the end of the topmost tentacle. A strange red light was emitted from the creature and the soul screamed in pleasure as well as all the other souls masking the creature's true form.

The soul got off the tentacle and dived into the sphere, seeking to be devoured by the creature within. The sphere shrunk a bit in size as the souls were consumed... but soon enough, attracted by the red light, new free floating souls arrived and dived on the sphere, causing the soul count to remain even.

The light slowly faded... and the identity of the monster became obvious.

This was a Legion, a legendary monster that even the most powerful angels and demons feared, an abomination that plagues the spritual planes, seeking souls to devour and add to it's already huge form. No wonder the entire place was empty! That hideous abomination must have slaughtered all the beings living in the place...

Legion: "Mamma... mamma..."

The monster extended it's tentacles toward Emily...

Legion: "Become... my friend. Lonely... Become friend."

OOC: Eek, I said fairly! Ah, that's fine, I asked for it... THIS is the kind of thing I look for when I'm stressed or bored. You're awesome.

Emily's eyes widen, then narrow hostily.

"A Leigon... Hmhmhm... Schwa wouldn't stand a CHANCE against this thing, that's for sure."

Emily seems to quiver in excitement.

"Haha! Perfect timing! I needed a real fight, and now it's on! Sensae, watch over this Psi Warrior ancestor.

"Leigon, you want a friend? You got a foe! Perish!"

Emily focuses, seeming to charge up energy for a small moment, then lets it loose as a white ring flashes around Emily for a split second, and four Holy Missles fire out from the joints of her four limbs. They fly outward at a medium speed, then curve and home in on the four nearest tentacles. Should they hit, they explode into a small, blinding flash of Holy energy, but a direct hit from one of these missles should do above average damage, and a good deal of extra damage if Leigon is considered a demon, undead, or is otherwise weak to Holy.

Emily is almost positive Leigon is a demon, though.

OFF: Just a little detail...

If you have played any of the recent 2D Castlevanias and made it fairly far, then you should have an idea of what to do against this particuliar foe... else, I'll tell you this:

Legions are much, much smaller than what they may look like at first... and as long as they're protected by the coat of lost souls around them, they cannot be harmed.

Striking the coat will knock souls off it... making an opening large enough and the Legion will be vulnerable!

Also, Legions aren't demons... some are, some are not. Legions comes into three main varieties:

The Grandfallon variety (the living, non-demonic and non-angelic variety) that feeds on feelings and memories.

The Holy variety (undead... in an angelic way) that feeds on souls and spiritual energies.

Finally, there's the Unholy variety (undead... in a demonic way) that feeds on bodies and other dead stuff.

Your current foe is of the "Holy" variety.

NOTE: Legions also come into two sub-species... and the sub-specie is determined by how it was born.

The first are actual full-blooded Legions born from the union between a male Legion and a female Legion. Those Legions are the stronger kind.

The second are baby souls that were born dead and were somehow turned into Legions. Those Legions are not as strong as full-blooded Legions and cannot reproduce. Furthermore, while their "Light" affect living beings as well... they have difficulties growing new tentacles and as such may end up being unable to feed on all the souls, memories, feelings, or spiritual energy they find.

By the way, ALL Unholy Legions are of the full-blooded variety since the second variety is unable to survive merely by eating bodies.

____________________________________________________________________

Unfortunately, Emily had made a little mistake.

BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!

The four missiles struck the tentacles... but each missile made merely a little cut into a single eye of each tentacle.

It looks like this Legion is strong to holy attacks.

The Legion withdrew it's tentacles and wings and floated above the ground for a little while, as if shocked that it was attacked...

Legion: "You... have... hurt me... This hurts... WAAAAAAAH!!!"

The sounds of thousands of souls crying was heard! The cacophony was absolutely infernal!

Legion: "YOU BIG MEANIE! YOU HURT ME! BIG MEANIE! YOU NEED A SPANKING! A GOOD ONE!"

Legion took out it's tentacles again... but this time, the tentacles begun to wrap around each others until they formed a single, gigantic tentacle. Then, the tentacle took the form of a hand.

Legion: "MEAN INSECT! CRUSHY! CRUSHY!"

Legion winded up for it's attack... and if the rumors about the Legions are true, then it will slap Emily with the strenght of as many people as it eaten!... and considering it's size, it's the strenght of several thousands creatures!

As such, since Emily got the opportunity to dodge, she really should take advantage of it before being flattened by the gigantic spherical freak!

OOC: Thanks for telling me... I've never played the Castlevania games.

"Dang... Here it comes..."

Emily leaps to the right to avoid the crushing hand, landing perfectly on her feet. She seems annoyed that her Holy Missiles not even barely dented the foe.

"I've fought a Leigon before, but that time I never did any of the attacking... Gotta try everything."

Again, she focuses energy, then breathes a huge cone of white ether from her mouth to sweep over the Leigon's body. This attack does both Holy and Psychic damage, and if the Leigon is resistant to Holy then it shouldn't do as much damage as it should have. Emily hasn't figured out that it's resistant yet.

The trick is that, though the Leigon is insanely powerful, it is nothing but one big target, while Emily is small and much harder to hit but weaker.

Couldn't post for like, forever!

Anyway... I'm sorry. Shall we continue... or did you lost interest (very probable)?

NOTE: Sorry for the bump by the way...

____________________________________________________________________

The cone struck the Legion and knocked two souls off the sphere... in short, a mere dent in it's body.

Legion: "MEANIE! MEANIE!... huh?"

The Legion stopped right there, floating above the ground, fluttering it's angel wings about as it stared at the two lost souls crawling on the ground...

Then, the Legion became enraged!

Legion: "AAAAAAAARG! YOU HAVE HURT MY FRIENDS! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU! NEVER!!!"

The Legion withdrew it's tentacles and then, a gigantic cross of pure energy glowed in front of the monstruous sphere while mysterious words echoed throught the air, showing that the monster was casting a spell using the power of the Holy Light...

OOC: 'Scuse me, but I NEVER lose interest in Roleplaying. Have at it, let us!

"Your friends, or your food? C'mon, I'm at my lowest power! ...HUH?"

Emily can hardly believe what she sees next. Is this Legion a Holy creature? If so, it is Good aligned? It CAN'T be, it's a Legion, for crying out loud! So how is it bringing Holy energy to bear?

Why, of course! It must be the souls it has assimilated that give the Legion its power-- explaining the response it gave when Emily managed to knock a few loose. Suddenly, Emily has part of the plan... but the other part is thrown off. Obviously Legion here is resistant, if not immune, to Holy. That severely limits what attacks Emily can bring forth against it effectively. And she must work fast if the Legion is planning on restoring it's wound soon.

"Legion, you're confused," she states, obviously a lot calmer than most would be in her shoes. "I don't especially want to kill you, because you don't really MEAN to devour souls... but you technically count as pollution. I apologize, but you must go." Then she thinks, "I can't get through to it, anyway, Might as well stop trying. ...Or am I? Hmm..."

All Emily does this turn is activate her passive power (as it's been 3 turns): Blink. Should she be attacked relatively soon, this should severely help.

Legion suddenly became upset and halted it's attack.

Legion: "My food?!? They're my friends! We are all together, forming a single entity!"

Legion formed a large tentacle, pointing to the two lost souls who were crawling on the ground, yelping for help.

Legion: "Look! LOOK! They're scared! They're hurt! They're alone!... but not for long! I'll return them to me..."

Legion suddenly extended it's spear-like tentacles and transfixed the souls! They stopped calling for help, their eyes empty... and then, they returned to their position, filling the dent.

Legion: "See? They're no longer alone... no longer suffering..."

Legion took out four, long tentacles of bones...

Legion: "I don't want you to suffer either. Become one with me! Become a part of us!"

Legion extended it's tentacles seeking to trap Emily rather than strike her.

Legion: "This won't hurt. Just allow me to shine the Holy Light on you..."

Whenever the Legion have successfully trapped Emily or not, Legion will still proceed at making an opening in it's soul barrier as it prepares to reveal what lies under the coat of lost souls...

Interesting. So the Leigon is sentinent, is it? That's when Emily remembers something... "Oops, I was counting on being attacked. Plan B, then..."

"I hate to say it, but you don't want me. I am a Psi Warrior ancestor, incapable of being corrupted in the way your 'friends' have been... Plus, your ideals are twisted and perverted. I'm warning you, messing with me is a BAD idea."

She thinks, "It doesn't MEAN any harm, but it causes harm. What's tough is that it's not really Evil... it's not really Good, either... but it uses Holy energy... so I can't kill it. The souls it has assimilated are done-for, it looks like... No! A soul can never die, even if it's just it's conscious that is dying! Perhaps I could reduce Leigon's defenses by purifying it."

Emily notices the Legion attempting to trap her. "Need a distraction..."

She lets loose. "Millisecond Link!" (echo effects)

From Emily's body, a MASSIVELY bright light engulfs the whole area, for a few seconds. As the light shines, Emily has established a perfect mental communication with all nearby consciousnesses-- in this case, the Legion and all the souls it contains-- and screamed directly to their "minds" (the spiritual equivelent of a mind) a series of special prayers in a cryptic tounge, thousands of them in only a few seconds... These prayers are of the same sacred language one takes the Pact of Honor using-- the living mind may not be able to understand the language, but the direct spirit and soul always can, so this language ALWAYS has a powerful effect on the listener... The things Emily has said to the souls are a mixture of encourgement backed by Holy energy, and powerful commands to "Be Free". The mental link carries the prayers with such force that it may be able to free the souls from their bondage with Legion for a small while, enough time for them to break off. It's a risk, but Emily must experiment a little to find out what works against this character...

As the light clears, Emily has morphed into almost a liquid form, and flows quickly straight up through the air to evade Legion's trap, over its head and 25 feet behind Legion before melting back into a fox-form. Blink is still active. Emily holds her breath, hoping that her little technique worked in breaking Legion's defense... and she also believes if it worked, there is a possible chance Legion would forget about his recent attack and try an all-out maul, studying from how it has behaved so far.

As the prayers echo, the souls stop responding and Legion stands, paralysed... and slowly, blood ooze out of Legion's center... and a vile tentacle entirely made of slimy, blood-coated flesh comes out... it slowly opens, revealing a toothless mouth filled with filaments entirely made to suck out all toughts and feelings from souls...

The grotesque circular mass of flesh slowly pulled itself out of the sphere using it's eight tentacles... it's single, candy pink eye stared into Emily's eyes with the look of a tortured child...

Legion's true form stood in all of it's horror, blood oozing out of it's small body everywhere. The parasitic life-form was small... it was only about half Emily's size and seemed so little... so weak... but Legions were probably one of the most dangerous species ever to exist. They were considered even more dangerous than angels and demons, their power to control souls, feelings, and bodies allowing them to overpower almost anything...

Legion: "I'm... I'm so cold..."

The Legion cried, shivering...

Legion: "My... my friends... their minds are empty... they stopped responding when I heard those strange words. It was as if they tried to do something but no longer could..."

The Legion slowly floated until it was just in front of Emily...

Legion: "Their individuality is gone. They cannot think on their own. They are one... and I am one of them. We are many and yet, are one... It is how we Legions are. Why do you seek to separate me from my friends? I'm... I'm shivering in this cold, cold air without my friends... and they... they seem... so dead... I can't take this!"

The coat of lost souls begun to moan... and soon, the souls got off each others and fell on the ground, creating a large carpet of tortured people... they begun crawling away...

Legion: "MY FRIENDS!!!"

Legion dived toward the carpet... but all the souls had already passed throught the ground, seeking to escape the light of the vile monster... and succeeding.

Tears flowed out of the Legion's eye... and then, it turned back toward Emily.

Legion: "You... YOU STUPID ANGELS AND DEMONS! Why can't you understand?!? We're not like you two! We do not control souls... we do not harm them! We merely are friends, living in a state of harmony and coexistance... but you individual minds cannot grasp such a principle! You're so convainced of the superiority of your individuality!"

Suddenly, the tears turned crimson as the Legion's sadness turned to hatred.

Legion: "I hate you! I hate all those who are like you! I hate those who do not want to understand us! I will not be your friend! I will destroy your body and DESTROY your soul! I will not kill you... I WILL COMPLETELY ERASE YOU FROM EXISTANCE!!!"

The Legion roared in fury and lashed foward, it's eight tentacles opening and revealing the soul-sucking filaments within, like little teeth. The Legion's eye glowed with intense hatred... and it was obvious that if Emily would be struck, the Legion would suck out her soul and promptly erase all conscious and individuality within it before consuming the soul energy whole, erasing her from existance.

"You're mine now," Emily calmly states. She knows that, if struck by Legion's attack, both of them will probably die. But she doesn't care... She has already decided that she would no longer be helping Schwa. Schwa wouldn't miss her.

She stands, her body flaring brilliantly with rainbow ether, as she plans to take Legion out with her in a simple matter of overloading his own soul with hers. She is of Psi Warrior blood, after all, and Psi Warrior souls are stronger than all Holy Gods combined, though limited by a physical body to less than 1%...

That's when:

"Emily, you incompetent half-wit! What are you doing!!?"

Time seems to stop in this instant as Emily and Sensae have a powerful telepathic conversation. "Hm! Sensae, I did indeed forget you were watching this. Uh... I suppose you have better plans for me than a suicide mission against a Legion, right?"

"Yes, you are observant enough... So for God's sake, DODGE this attack, or Schwa will never forgive you, nor will I!"

"With what, may I ask?"

"Think, dammit!"

Time speeds back up again... and Emily uses her answer: her activated passive ability, Blink.

As Legion's tentacle-teeth strike, Emily blinks out of existance. She didn't teleport; instead, the Blink ability released a reflexive cushion of warped energy around her, shielding her and softening the foe's charge, as her body automatically jumped backwards several feet, in the form of 4 Zrakus.

Yes, Blink's power also works in a way similar to an illusionist spell. Three Emilys are fakes, and will die in one hit. One Emily is real, and if she is hit, the fakes all die. Catch: Though the fakes can't attack regularly, the real Emily can channel energy through them and launch working techs through them, all at once even, allowing her to pull out a mighty 4 techs per turn! The only drawback is that the fakes cannot charge up for a higher-level tech; only the real one, and that would give her away. Also, the fakes can't use techs until Emily's next turn, having just been created.

"So, if they were your friends, Legion, how come they ran away from you when they could? Is one of us missing something?" Emily's voice comes from SOMEwhere, but it's pretty much impossible to tell which Emily is speaking, as it is telepathic.

OFF: Well... here are the bad news ; like Ex Lightheart, Legions are BLIND actually and only see soul energy... at the exeption of the Unholy Legions, who can actually see.

This means that illusions are completely, totally unneffective at fooling Legions... and thus that your foe KNOWS where the real Emily is...

... on another hand, this can be used to your advantage since Legion won't see the fakes at all and will, as such, never see any of their attacks coming.

____________________________________________________________________

Legion stared at the real Emily, seemingly not even seeing the illusions.

Legion: "Huh?... how strange... For a second, I tought you had done some kind of counter... but you merely dodged my attack!"

Legion stood there...

Legion: "You confuse me with your speeches... you imply that my friends hated me? I would have know it since they toughts were my own and my own toughts, theirs."

Legion extended all of it's tentacles and pointed them at Emily...

Legion: "Now... I'll disassemble your body!"

Legion opened the mouth of one of it's tentacles and the filaments inside begun to gather energy as it prepared to fire the famous Legion attack, the Mind Breaker Bolt...

OOC: This post may seem odd, but remember that I'm not intentionally trying to control other people's characters with this one.

As Legion prepares to strike, four voices of Emily can be heard at once: "Playback Onyx!" (echo effects)

At once, four small spheres of pure black energy appear in front of each Emily, seeming to be sucking some kind of black energy from Legion (which only appears after it has left Legion)...

In truth, the black energy is the actual energy-based form of Anger, which (last post) has overtaken Legion when Emily disrupted his defenses. An endless amount can be pulled out, but it will never run empty, as it is with all emotions in nearly any creature. This does not affect Legion in any way, however, but it is noted that the Anger energy is rapidly increasing the size of the four darkness-based projectiles. Emily plans to strike Legion with his own emotions for damage!

"A single soul came to me before you did. It was TERRIFIED of you. And I tell the truth, too. It is your unwaverable nature to corrupt the minds of those you absorb, Legion! Realize that!" She fuels the fire.

OFF: Legion does not attack in this post... but a little bit of his past could be revealed soon depending on how Emily will anwser his questions...

Also, while Legion does not attack, Emily may find out that becease of his past, Legion's Anger tends not to remain under it's pure, negative form... in fact, it tends to be refined quite quickly into pure Evil energy... or more exactely, into Hatred.

____________________________________________________________________

Legion's Anger is soon enough perverted and soon enough, the black energy turns to a black ooze with red energy pulsating inside as the simply negative Anger turns into purely evil Hatred.

Legion did not anwsered... he just stood there... but suddenly, the black ooze begun to turn back into Anger... and then, the Anger stopped flowing... Legion stood there... calming down...

He floated in front of Emily, as if surprised...

Legion: "Huh? So... weird... I feel... as if you had control over Hatred... but it is impossible! I tought that only those who formed one with Hatred could control it... that it was perverting and destroying all the others who attempted to control it..."

Legion was probably right... for unless Emily let go of the black spheres soon... the Hatred gathered inside them will spread and turn all of the Anger into pure Hatred, the all-consuming emotion!

"Fire!!"

All 4 Emilys focus, and the mutating black spheres are fired at Legion all at once. Each hit would do above-average damage (it would've been more if Emily had the full time to charge them) per hit, and if all 4 hit, the damage would be very high. Also, this counts as Darkness-type damage.

After the spheres have either hit or missed the mark, Emily speaks.

"To be honest, I didn't expect that side-effect to happen to my projectiles, so I had to get rid of them before they became dangerous for me to wield. However, it would've taken a great deal of that demonic force to affect me... I am a Psi Warrior Ancestor, and the souls of Psi Warriors themselves have the power of all Holy Gods in existance combined... so an Ancestor should probably have mastered just about any spiritual task by now, else we'd call that pathetic."

OFF: Indirect attack from Legion as he attempts to force Emily to touch him.

A remainder...

Legion's tentacles are very, VERY dangerous. Normally, getting hit by the tentacles causes Legion to suck the victim's soul and feeds on it... in short, instant-death.

For cheapness purposes, Legion will simply inflict damage if Emily touches his tentacles... but needless to say, the amount of damage inflicted will be MASSIVE so you'd better keep your character away from him!

____________________________________________________________________

Each of the four spheres strikes Legion...

An inhuman scream is heard as he recoils from the intense pain. Looks like Legion truly is angelic... despite his soul being nothing like what an angel's soul should be.

The anger and hatred flowed throught his veins and then, Legion recoiled backward, as if shocked... and tears flowed down from his single eye...

Legion: "This... this power... the Hatred..."

Legion stopped crying...

Legion: "Whoever control the souls... control all. Whoever controls the emotions... controls half of all souls. You are inferior..."

Legion spreaded it's tentacles and begun to glow in a red aura...

Legion: "My friends... MY FRIENDS! I have no friends!... for they are not my friends! They are me and I am them! One becomes all! All becomes one!"

Whispers begun to be heard... the whispers of the lost souls! They were gathering as Legion flooded the entire area with his Red Light, a light that imitated the Holy Light, drawing all souls to Legion... including Emily.

An exterior force was channelling all of Emily's desires into the Red Light... trying to force her into desiring to touch Legion more than anything else in the world...

OOC: I kinda figured that. Emily is actually nothing but a soul, but a soul stronger than all Holy Gods combined (due to the Living Assets in her) and 1000 years old at that. She would most definitely have some pretty strong resistance to Legion's absorbsion attacks, but at the same time, not having a physical body would re-lower her defense against it.

"Whooa--hooolieee!"

It hits Emily like a ton of bricks. She's had this happen to her before, and her form is actually trained to resist and combat it... that doesn't mean she's immune to it, though, and the force of Red Light nearly paralyzes her. At the same time, rainbow ether surges up all around her, which is her Living Assets' automatic reaction to defending against such a powerful luring.

"I call upon thee, Sensae!"
"What is that, Emily? You know I cannot-- or WILL not-- directly intervene with Psi Warrior combat. What do you seek?"
"Just... your guidance."
"...That is what I wanted to hear. Believe, Emily!"

Hope, the one easily scarce essence in such a situation as this, floods into her. It has been there all along... but Sensae has invoked it in Emily for calling on him in a time of peril. She holds strong against the mental pull of Legion's dark and tricky power.

"Return to Hell, spawn of darkness!"

Emily counters as her eyes light up brightly, sending a telepathic psychic pulse through the Red Light into Legion. The invisible, spiritually sonar-based attack travels from mind to mind across the Red Light like hard vacuum, slamming the mind directly without harming the body, and packs some heavy force; even if the damage isn't the highest, it's bound to temporarily paralyze pretty much any target it hits undefended against, unless the target has one heck of a strong mind (Dragons, for example, which have some of the strongest minds of all).

She hopes the attack will do something to stop Legion's attack, for soon it may start causing Emily pain to hold fast for so long against something so powerful.

Unfortunately, a lost soul jumped out of the ground and placed itself between Legion and Emily!

The soul screamed as it was struck and Legion stretched his tentacles and empaled the soul... the soul slowly stopped screaming...

Legion: "There... there... It is over. She won't separate us... no... she will become one of us..."

Soon enough, columns of lost souls begun to come out of the ground as the lost souls Emily had helped returned. It seems that the connection had not been broken permanently sadly... and soon, the souls begun to gather, forming a thin coat of souls around Legion... but they were not blocking the Red Light, far from it!

Unstead of forming a massive sphere around the hideous monster, the souls formed four large, oddly-shaped colums around Legion... and turned out to be mirrors!

The four mirrors concentrated the Red Light on Emily as Legion gathered his strenght to crush Emily's will while the lost souls gathered together, trying to erase Emily's hope with their quiet, mindless awe... an awe that was not truly there.

It was creepy... those were truly souls and yet... they were nothing like the souls of living things. They seemed... dead... as if they had been destroyed mentally and yet... they still exist.

Truly unfortunate souls... killed a second time, in the After-life and denied non-existance, forever condemned to being the tools, the extensions of a soul-eating monstruosity...

... and this thing was hell-bent on making Emily his next victim!

"Stupid freak coincidence..." Emily mutters as her attack is stopped.

Then Legion kicks it up a notch with his mirrors. "Ayyyye!!"

The rainbow ether practically explodes all around Emily. She is still standing strong! But the effort to do so is actually deteriorating her body. She needs a way out, fast...

The terrain! Red sand can be used to her advantage.

"Aero Psiwave!" (echo effects)

Her eyes flash again, as a powerful blast of psychic air explodes from a designated location-- underground! The blast is enough to coat a very large area in a temporary crimson duststorm for a while, kicked up from the ground by the underground explosion of air, shielding Emily from the Red Light for at least a while. In that time, Emily quickly thinks up another defense...

The Red Light is a bit hampered by the duststorm...

Legion: "How very annoying..."

Legion stops emitting the Red Light and burry his tentacles, made of lost souls, underground... and then, an earthquake begins.

The earthquake isn't harmful... but it is the signal that the tentacles are moving underground... and that an attack is probably coming straight toward Emily!
