After hearing the words of my mother after being told that my friend, on Xeogaming, Katana and I have talked on the internet, I declare humanity to be an utter fKitten Yiffer of a species. Since Katana is an "unknown person" on the internet, and we exchanged phone numbers, she, as well as all the people on every message board, is an "internet predator". This also goes for all the people on my Buddy List that I don't personally know. Henceforth, she wants me to uninstall AIM, and cease all internet communications. Of course, this will not come to pass, mainly because she is a paranoid, over-cautious woman, who believes that every person on the internet is a 54 year old derelect living in the Bronx (all of whom are only interested in attacking me). This, coupled with a news report I saw on countering violent video games with Christian games (where you convert Romans into Christians with a Holy sword), has led me to believe that humans are disgraceful. They are over protective, paranoid, weakling creatures, who are timid and easily frightened with threats of Mad Cow Disease, violent youths due to video games and "internet predators". Many of them turn to the God(s) of which whichever religion they worship. I'm not going into religion bashing here. I'm just saying that most of these easily frigtened insecure Americans are Christians. These people do not take risks. They do not live life for enjoyment, they live life for longevity. Pointless, really. I heard George Carlin about a year ago, and I have to agree with him, that most Americans are easily frightened, scared people. "What are you going to do? Play with your prick for the next thirty years and read Parade Magazine and eat at Wendy's til the end of time? Take a fucking chance, you pussies!" I wish I could take a chance, just once in my life. I want to live life the way I want to live it; not being hidden under the shroud of scaredness and pussification. I told katana that I'd call her, and now, I'm afraid to, because I'll have my cell phone taken away. What the fuck is wrong with Americans these days? I'm ashamed to be human.

I couldn't agree with you more. I feel the exact same way. Sadly, because they're your parents, you'll have to wait till you're moved out. Then, stay away from your mother as much as possible

I am often changing my view of human nature every day. I can get angered by what I experience and witness, and I am not quick to forgive. The bad lingers in my mind much longer than the good. Often, I will make comments about how I hate mankind, or how I want to live my life shut off from the rest of the world, or something like that. It conflicts in my mind. It's frustrating.
However..
She tells you to quit chatting online, so you attack human nature and Americans. Right. This rant is the product of your pouting, isn't it? Think about what the situation is here.
You're giving your phone number out over the internet to people you don't know. It doesn't matter how much you trust Katana, it's normal for her to get angry or paranoid over it. That doesn't mean you need to start hating everyone while making up a bunch of things about human nature. It also doesn't mean you should try to get away from your mother as soon as possible, as Vyper so carelessly suggested.

Wanting you to cease all internet communication does sound extreme, I admit, but you already said that won't happen. You're probably still angry over the phone thing. Just relax.

I said "it won't happen" because I won't let it happen. And I'm bot blaming Americans for not letting me see my Internet friends; I'm merely saying that, as I have seen the actions of this, and many other things, Humans are, indeed, easily frighted people. Which is why I wrote this. I don't blame her for being cautios either, but she's being extreme, here. Also, her picture is on the Photo Album. Just because I've never seen her before is no reason to threaten to "throw the whole damn thing [internet] out!"

Dude, your calling the entire human race disgraceful because your mom wont let you call a girl?
Okay, I know parents can be unrealistic sometimes but seriously man. Find a way to do it, its not impossible.

Now you might want to call human nature screwed up when your girlfriend's best friend asks you for sex. Better yet, how about one of your friends trying to have sex with your girlfriend. Oh happend to me.

My last girlfriend cheated on me with a guy who sat next to me in Algebra II. Awesome huh? She was drunk by the way.

Or my first girlfriend taking heroin infront of me.

How about my cousin who supposedly loved her friend, but when she died in the car accident she didnt even go to the funeral? The 20 year old drivign the group was drunk.

Please, taking too many chances are the things that get people killed. That destorys lives, ive seen it first hand. Risk's wont be oh so appealing when your at the brunt end.

Don't call us scared, call us experienced.

"This, coupled with a news report I saw on countering violent video games with Christian games (where you convert Romans into Christians with a Holy sword), has led me to believe that humans are disgraceful."

I actually saw this piece on CNN today at work and could not stop laughing at the gameplay footage.

Anyway, humankind is indeed disgraceful, disgusting, cowardly, vile, and full of hate. But on the other hand, they're also polar opposites of those. There's a lot of beauty to be seen in both life and people, unfortunantly the bad has a tendancy to overshadow and block that from view most of the time.

I've always been a firm believer that evil is a necessity in this world. You can't have the good without the bad, otherwise there would be no good. Just normal.

If you're so ashamed of being human, then you should be such a good one that you make others feel proud of it. Set the example. Live your life the way you want to live it. By worrying this much about others, you're wasting your time.

"Please, taking too many chances are the things that get people killed."

There's a fine line between taking chances and being stupidly hazardous. Not taking enough chances leads to a failed and empty life.

Yeah I know not taking enough, we're talking about positive chances.

Say, talking that girl you like. Sending in the work application. Finishing drivers ed...

All those include things that could get you rejected but your doing it anyways. Thats a positive risk

Messing around with friends having fun doesnt have to include alcohol..all my straight-edge friends and me have alot of good times with out making dumbasses out of ourselves.

The reason I stopped drinking a few months after I turned 21 was because I hated the type of person I became after I got drunk. Not once did I ever get the violent type of drunk, it was always the stupid kind. Sure the people around me thought it was funny, but I hated it whenever I woke up the next morning. Also, I never really understood what the big fascination with it is. Being drunk feels pretty good, but it's not the end all be all of life. Being a heavy drinker is nothing to brag about either and it's always been a pet peeve of mine too.
So you can imbide a liquid. Big deal, ya know?

I have a feeling that if I continue in this discussion, things will definitely get out of hand. I'd rather not be "too unsensitive" again and get banned. Could you be any more of a hardass? It's humor. We have it for a reason. You should check it out sometime. It may do you some good

EDIT: Oh, and your pathetic attempt at sarcasm = phail. Don't you love the neighborhood asshole?

I used to drink and all, a little at least.

The only reason I stopped and everything and became straight-edge is because nearly EVERYONE close to me has been affected in some way by a substance. Wether it be drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc. Alcohol has taken people from me and it has also been the reason some messed up things have happened. Not to mention heroin..

Like you said Legion I dont see what the big deal about alcohol is. Sure you can have a good time and make people laugh, too bad thats the alcohol talking.

You know when a person says they want to stop an argument to avoid trouble, and then goes ahead and get their last word in anyway? Yeah.

The thing is, it wasn't funny. Nothing suggested that you were even trying to be funny, and I'm willing to bet that you were serious at the time you said that. Even if you weren't, it doesn't matter. That remark was out of place and stupid.
I don't even understand why you'd bring it up to say you were joking. Does that make my post any less valid? It's terrible advice, whether or meant it or not.

How was my "pathetic attempt at sarcasm" a "phail"? I'm just wondering why you'd edit a post to make that remark, with nothing to back it up. Especially since the reason why this side argument started was because your attempt at being humorous, to put it in your witty terms, "= phail".

*sigh*

If you havn't gotten it yet, I'm sarcastic. About everything. I'm hardly ever serious, and when I am, you'll see me make a point of it. Like now.

I'm betting a few people who read my first remark got a chuckle. Most people know what it's like to put up with a mother that is extremely over-protective. All I did was point it out more and try to lighten the mood. Just because you're a total hard ass with no sense of humor doesn't mean everyone else is. And besides, do I even care what you think? Seriously?

The whole point of me posting that you phailed was to make me look like a total asshat who has no idea what he's doing. That's what comedy is all about. I'm making you think "wow, can this guy be any dumber?" and give you a chuckle. And don't even TRY to respond that it didn't give you laugh inside and make you wonder how stupid people can be sometimes. Now that the obvious has been pointed out, let the others have their discussion.

Vyper, for the love of god knock it off. If you're going to be rude and sarcastic, do not come in this forum or any other serious forum. You should know damn well what I'm talking about.
Nobody laughs at your offensive remarks. Especially when you say that YD, of all people, has no sense of humor. That's the most stupid thing you've ever said.
Your posts make the thread go off topic, and only lead to arguements because everyone wants to make sure you know you're wrong. This has happened too many times. You aren't funny, just stop.

So basically what your saying is that I'm insecure and frightened. I don't think I'm insecure... "Short term memory, run's in the family... or at least I think to does." ~Dory

The problem you speak of is the Christians who a lot of people would call insecure are just ignorant. Partly due to them being stupid thinking I'm stupid and don't know how to run the sound system. but that's besides the point. Then there are the paranoid... who worry about there children, mainly parents... and, well I worry about my sisters but it doesn't drive me insane... I don't think it has.

For once I could agree with you. I believe we consist of the 10% of all humans that aren't easily blinded by religeon so much as to contradict our own set of rules. As years pass I see more bullshit on this planet than progress. It's a decline of humanity as we speak and I can definately see how you picked your point. It's good to know some people aren't as stupid as the rest.
