| Here's the basic story: I have a friend (a girl - she'll be A) whose mother began dating my father about 7 years ago or so. They've gone together off and on since then, but havn't seen each other now for about a year. Anyway, I've been friends with this girl for quite a while now and talk on the internet all the time and on the phone every once and a while. We've gone and hung out at the nearest mall a few times as well. We're pretty good friends but neither of us want any more than that. Now that you know a little about her, I'm going to get into her friend (no pun intended)(she'll be B). She's shorter than me and is very good looking. I've talked to her for a little over a year now (mostly over the internet, a few times on the phone) and have met her a few times. I tell my other friend (the paragraph further up) that I'm beginning to like this girl but I feel she's out of my league. Nonsense, according to A. So I keep talking to B and things are going good. We're good friends. About a week or so ago, A IMs me and tells me that her and B are in a fight and pretty much hate each other now. I IM B to confirm and it's true. Me, not wanting to be the middle man, just talk to both and do my best to abstain from any arguments. During this time, I talk to A about how I like B a lot and hope that we could go to a movie some time or whatever. A responds and says she doesn't care because she doesn't like B anymore. So I talk to them both some more, and a few days later I find out they're not fighting anymore. Apparantly, A took one of B's bras and threatened to throw it out on the tennis fence during practice (B, being shorter, gave up and they settled it). So yesterday, I'm talking to A and she says there's something that she knows but B would kill her if she told me. Being the sly person I am (  ), I suggest she tells my friend and then my friend (he'll be C), and C tells me. According to A, her and B weren't fighting at all and it was all a plan to get me to reveal some things to B (she was on both of their names). I then find out that B has liked me for a while now and that she'd like to go out sometime. I have informed B that I'm not into the junior-high stuff like saying "I love you" the second we start going out. What's awesome is she feels the exact same way. I'm really excited, because we have tons of things in common. We both have an extremely sarcastic sense of humor, we both love having intelligent conversations about life, politics, etc., and we have similar tastes in music and movies. I feel I can talk to her about anything.I guess I'll sum it up and ask my question now. Basically, A has told C that B likes me, but B has no idea I know this. I don't want my friends to fight for real by telling B I know this, yet I don't really know what to do here. I want to note that I truly am attracted to this girl (both physically and emotionally) and don't want to lose that. Any suggestions? (edited by Vyper on 08-17-05 06:14 PM) |

| Tell B you like her off your own bat. Don't involve the information you have heard from A via C, just tell B you like her, that you've liked her for a while, and ask if she'd like to go see a movie. |

I have, thankfully. I also, just a few minutes ago, told her about what I heard. She confirmed it was true and wasn't angry at all. I also told her I was pretty pleased about what I heard... teehee....I'm so happy  |

| I don't understand the need for all of this excess, why didn't you just talk to the person you like in the first place? I'm sure the other people around you would have understood. |
