Afternoon all, I have just completed World 2 on my hack, and I'd just like to post some more screenies, and give thanks to a bunch of people who helped me through my troubles. Soo...First I'd like to give a special thanks to smwedit and Ice Man, who are awesome rippers, and made great BGs, and FGs. Secondly, a very special thanks to Smallhacker, who would always answer my questions, and make sure I knew what I was doing . And finally, thanks to everyone else at Acmlm's, who are all very smart people, and produced very great hacks, and helped me with all my problems.

So once again, thanks guys, and if I missed anyone, PM me, and I'll put you in my credits.

But am I finished? Of course not? I still have 6 and a half worlds to go

Anyway, before I post to screenies, I have a question. Would anyone be willing to test this as soon as I release a demo? I test each level about 20 times, but I want to see if anyone else has pro eyes. So please, when you reply to screenies, could you post an answer. Thank you.

And . . . finally *looks at empty chairs and tumbleweed* err, SCREENIES!! *crowd rushes back in*

2-4: Death Glade
Screen 1 - Lots of vines in this SMB2-esque level
Screen 2 - Can you get to the block door with the P-switch?

2-5: GHOST HOUSE: Final Resting Place
Screen 1 - Bullet Bills, Boos - and layer 2 scrolling!
Screen 2 - Elevators and bullet bills make this a tough climb. Plus, the layer two Yoshi coin
Screen 3 - Everything you see layer two scrolls - well, most of it anyway.

2-6: Indigo Cave
Screen 1 - Spring to the top and cross the lava - but it's not as easy as you think.
Screen 2 - There's the key - where's the keyhole?
Screen 3 - More creative ways to hit blocks - but how do you get out?

2-7: Magnus Von Grapple's Castle (THE best of my levels, THE cream on the cake)
Screen 1 - Welcome to the castle courtyard - Magnus has set up lots of traps to welcome you.
Screen 2 - The inside, complete with Yoshi's Island blocks. The Thwomps will try to crush you everywhere, so use that to your advantage. *OMG LOL UBER HINTXORZ*
Screen 3 - A confused plumber needs your help. No invisible note blocks anymore, they are, like, SO world 1.
Screen 4 - La la la, keep on going - note the long path under Mario . . .
Screen 5 - the final climb, and M.V.G's tightest security - turrets, bony beetles, dry bones, and high ledges. Can you make it through the final depths of this level?

2-8: Boggly Palace - WHAT??

Sorry. You're not allowed to see these pictures - you have to get here yourself.

I hope you guys like them. I know they are not perfect, but I'm sure the castle is *grin*

Thanks again guys

*note: I am very bad at making speeches. So don't laugh*

EDIT: Ok, I switched hosts, at freewebs now, but was in a rush, so didn't feel like sorting them all out. You can view each one individually, that way they aren't all crammed togther. I was kind of in a rush too, so I didn't add comments explaining each one. But they are there - they are visable

Not bad... I would suggest a little more exgfx and some pallete changing. Everything else looks great!

Thank you, I appreciate it I didn't want to use too much ExGFX, but since it's been going well, I might just do that.

Overall the screens look quite good. Here are my comments...

1. I'd recommend changing the colors on the columns in screens 4 and 5, the orange and gray clash too much.
2. In screens 6 and 8, the lava looks pretty bad, blue with an orange top is really funky. I'd recommend one continuous color with gradual nuances.
3. Cool YI stone castle rip in Screen 9 and 13.
4. The FG and BG here looks cool, but the FG palettes are really clashing: pink, gray, green and black are way too wacky.
5. In screen 11, is the ? part of the level? It looks really bad and sloppy. Also, a lot of bricks here are missing the second halves, they don't look too good without them.
5. In screen 12, you use the black pirhana plants as the edges to the lava. It's usually better to use solid, square/rectangualr tiles as lava ends, that way it doesn't look like part of the lava is hanging out.

This is looking good so far, there are just a few things that need to be worked out here and there, that can be taken care of easily. Nice job.

1. Fixed

2. Palette changed

3. Thank you - but that was smwedit's work. That was before I learnt how to rip

4. I never really understood how to only copy part of the palette - the blocks I need. If I knew how to only copy the FG of the palette, I could fix it.

5. I just drew the red ? on as a little joke, in MSPaint, as in Mario being confused. It's not in the actual hack, don't worry

6. Fixed.

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you liked them.

EDIT: Woah, funky BG - I like it, I like it alot

The first screen... no. Just, no. Its a horrible idea, which is overused and.. overall annoying..

The screens however overall look good.. However, the castle pallete looks a bit fux'd...

But yeh, this looks like an intresting hack. I'll definitely download it.

You talking about the ghost house screen? That's only one little part - don't worry - actually, it's basically just those 3 platforms, the rest is different.

Thanks for the comments, the demo will be releases, I'd say - next week maybe?

And in case none of you noticed, it's called The Thousand-Year Pipe. You can tell by the names I used (Boggly Woods, Magnus Von Grapple)

Neat, no?

Oh . . that one . .

Yes, I have a custom OW - every overworld is custom - but I've only done the submaps right now, not the main OW . . why, did you want me to post them?

Nice screenshots, by the way I still haven't got a chance on testing the hack yet, I had a very long day with school and I'm tired but I might play it today. Back on topic, my favorite screenshots are the Magnus von Grapple level, the GFX are awesome.

Haha fabio, that's mine too, I put about 7 hours into that level - that is after creating one version and having to delete it - I'm glad you like them - and don't worry about it, if schools in the way *it's a bummer* then it comes first.

But if you get to it today, that would be great. I just finished Rainbow Road and now I'm working on . . . well, you'll find out soon enough.

EDIT: Getting the overworlds now rain man, be right with you

Ok here they are - they kinda suck, but I haven't gotten to the main overworld yet, which will be better.

I shouldn't have shown all the events - it kinda wrecks my story line - especially one thing on the map which I haven't mentioned for any of my posts *coughswitchpalacecough*

Wow . . you actually LIKE the OW? Thank you!!! I'm surprised, honestly, I feel that they are kind of plain. But if you think they're good, and others have though my first OW was good, then I feel encouraged.

For now though, I have some levels to work on

Thanks legoman

In my last post for screenies, I showed you guys Rainbow Road. Well, I shortly afterward discovered that what I made what actually a big, shiny hunk of garbage. So I remade it. Here are some screenies for you all.

2-9: Rainbow Road.

Screen 1 - The Rainbow Road was taken over and destroyed by Rexes and Koopas, so you need to use timed lifts to cross, and Banzai Bills to help you.
Screen 2 - Dodge the upside-down plants while jumping from Banzai Bills to lifts and grey platforms.
Screen 3 - 3 of my screens are ducking, since that's a lot of what you're doing.
Screen 4 - Be careful here. You don't want to fall when you're this close to the end.

Any comments on them?

I love this hack so far. Please excuse the nitpicking for a moment...

In your second ow screen, there's a broken half of a tree below the level in the center. See what I mean? Just the lower-right tree tile right of a hill and below a level. Nitpicking indeed, but tiny problems make my world go round.

I am really looking forward to playing this. Please don't let it die.
