(ooc: Alright, then. Just be more careful when stating the size of your projectiles, k? 'Small' doesn't tell me much. Oh, and also tell me how many- 'multiple' is also too broad. In fact, instead of writing another description only to have you catch me on the number as well, I'll wait to reply until you tell me exactly how many I'll have to break.)

ooc: Actually, you could have taken advantage of the number, and weakened my attack, as I did not described anything except above three, but if you wish to give me the chance...

There are six small balls. You can take advantage of any of my other descriptions that are lacking.

(ooc: Actually, you weakened your own attack. Read the description I gave before: I assumed there were eight. Also, the wound from a basketball-sized rock is much worse than I would incur from your entire 6-small attack. But that's not my point. I wouldn't want to take advantage of a lack of description, and I tend to assume the attack is worse than my opponent says anyway. I think you should take more time to describe your attacks, so that I don't have such opportunities even if I wanted to take them. Regarding Ashra's reaction to the attack, think about how much space eight basketballs take up. Taking large amounts of soil out of the ground in a forest is bound to expose roots, kill grasses, etc. You never mentioned whether or not you left holes in the ground from the summoning, so I assumed via common sense that there would be. In addition, I mentioned the 'sacred earth' in one of my posts, so why wouldn't THAT upset Ashra? Another thing, did you actually think that the cloak ravens were a normal flock of birds that your rocks could avoid even after they exhibited the ability to disintegrate basketball-sized spheres of matter? As I'm rather annoyed that you find the number an unimportant detail that I can interpret, yet dismiss my long, descriptive post with saying that I had the size wrong, I'm going to copy-paste a large amount of my previous post. I'm done ranting now.)

I do not doubt your abilties, nor my own-

Ashra's reply is cut short by a pressing need to do something about the rapidly incoming spheres of earth. Holding his sword horizontally at his eye level, he rushes the first sphere, one about the size of a marble, thrusting high and hard. He impales it through the center, and its color fades into a deep purple before exploding in a shower of violet light in front of Ashra. He quickly turns, and cleaves through another orb on a collision course with his spine, slicing it into neat halves before it also dematerializes. With a slight flourish, Ashra brings his blade up and into the path of two more rocks, which this time are destroyed by rays of creamy white light from the active runes before they can come in contact with the edge of the blade. With each bubble popped, the white sparks along the length of Ashra's sword are growing stronger and more numerous, and some of the runes are beginning to highlight themselves... This seems to surprise Ashra, and for just an instant he halts his swordfighting display long enough to be hit in the stomach by a jagged rock. It bounces off of his leather armor, being not nearly strong enough to break through, before Ashra regains concentration and smashes it to pieces with the pommel of his weapon. He turns to face the last rock, lowering his blade, then traces a sigil in the air with his bandaged left hand. Indigo light flows off of the symbol as it soars towards the incoming stone, wrapping around it, then shrinking into nothingness along with its target. Ashra turns back to face Jaques, raising his sword to point at him...

And to think, all of this in less than five seconds...

I'd ask you to please refrain from using the ground here as a weapon. It, as much as the air and the trees, is part of the forest. You did very little damage to it and to me, but I warn you not to do it again.

With this, Ashra runs at his opponent, sword ready, and thrusts at the gap in Jaques's armor between the breastplate and the pauldron on his right shoulder. The blade seems to get thinner as he approaches, until it is just the right size to fit. A strong hit here could disable Jaques's other arm, and make fighting with that nasty sword impossible...

(ooc: Consider that the first lack of description I'm taking advantage of, because you asked me so nicely.)

ooc: Good job, luckily you can't cut through adamantium.

ic: Jaques quickly brought his broken arm up, and batted away the sword, before it could cause any damage.

"That hurt."

Jaques suddenly seemed to start changing, his voice was different, and so was his stance.

"My mind... losing control to the inner dragon... keep me away..." Dragon wings suddenly popped out of his back, and now his voice sounded stronger, and more angry. He then made what could be considered an insane move:

Jaques jumped up into the air, and soard up, to way above the forest. According to Ashra, he could not survive outside of the forest. So, were the forest destroyed, Ashra would die. This was no longer a Jaques, this was a monster... Jaques blew a huge blast of fire, one which would cover all the forest in flame, reaching 1000 degrees or more.

The possibilities of the tree surving here, seemed impossible. Ashra would have to stop the flame from reaching the tree, or, in theory, all was lost.

(ooc: Wow. Doomed I am not. You just did something that you will sorely regret... But besides that, WHAT hurt? You batted away the sword, and that was my only attack that turn... I find the transformation slightly out of place, but I'll deal with it.)

Ashra stares in disbelief as the flame approaches. He had defeated an army of wizards, a garrison of armed soldiers, and three flocks of wyverns in defense of his homeland, but only once had he fought and defeated a dragon, long ago, when his body and soul were complete... The encounter had left him in his current, weakened, dependant state, his soul having fused with that of the forest... There is no way he could win against a fully-grown flamedrake in this broken condition. As he stares at his forest, now beginning to burn, he can feel his soul slipping away. The voidflare inside him is fighting the power of his mind to hold it back, and Ashra's curse is winning. He begins to hover slowly into the air, his face, and indeed his entire body, contort with pain as his bandages burst off of his hands. His skin is swirling with black energies as he struggles against himself, trying to hold his mind together...

When finally, he snaps. The explosion can be seen and heard for miles around as Ashra's body destroys itself, a human-shaped cloud of voidflare in its place. He floats towards his sister's tree, now blackened and licked by flames, and passes through the bark and into the tree inside. His mind is gone. The tree crumbles around him, and what remains of his soul lets out a terrifying scream for what it has lost.

But then, the tree seems to be growing again. A white, translucent, incorporeal tree expands from the now-exposed gravestone of Ashra'a sister. The spirit of the tree still survives, though Ashra would never have known it. His voidflare slowly diminishes in size, being overtaken by the holy force coming from the afterlife, then completely disappears, as the tree crystallizes, now nearly opaque. From within the tree comes a figure, human-sized, stepping out of the tree. It is Ashra, but he looks far different. He wears grey robes with no special designs, but the ravens off from the horizon come soaring in, now forming a mosaic of grey and black birds on his cloak. Moving aside the outermost cloak on his left side, he reveals a sword, which he draws. It's a normal longsword, with none of the inscriptions from his previous weapon, which is now nowhere to be seen. His new blade glows white and green with the magic of the forest, and as he draws it, the burnt trees slowly begin to regenerate themselves, and the fires are drowned out in the new growth. He looks towards the sky and his opponent, and it can now be seen that his eyes are a hard silver. Tensing for a moment, he brings himself down to a full crouch before jumping high into the air, carried aloft by his regained nature magic. He turns to face the dragon, holding his sword ready to attack at his foe's slightest movement. As he does so, a line of blue appears off the edge of his sword, and it takes on the appearance of unnatural sharpness.

(ooc: Well, turns out you can't kill the forest without killing Ashra, and you can't kill Ashra without killing the forest. Old Ashra's sword really is impossibly sharp, and it can cut through anything, say, Adamantium, like butter. Good Luck.)

ooc: Jaques' arm was broken, the sudden movement wouldn't feel that good. Also, if it is something that can cut through adamantium, then I simply won't engage in melee combat.

Also, how did the tree itsself survive? The temperature should have killed you both.

ic: Jaques slowly sheathed his sword. There would be no need for it now. Jaques then flew up twently miles, hoping Ahra would follow him. If he did, Jaques would begin charging the full death spell.

(ooc: The tree was indeed burned to death, but it was no ordinary tree. The spirit of Ashra's sister lives on, and holds the forest intact. The tree has been replaced by the crystalline ghost of a tree. Ashra didn't die because he was cursed to the point where he was made of voidflare, and you can't destroy voidflare with ordinary heat. When the ghost of the tree rose up around him, it removed his curse, but his soul had already been hurt badly. It was restored along with his body from his sister's memory, building him into not what he was but what his sister perceived as Ashra. Make more sense now?)

Ashra watches calmly as his opponent soars high into the air. He remains where he is, standing on a now-visible green disk, and makes grand, sweeping movements with his sword around the air above him. Each slice (twenty in all) causes a shockwave to form in the air, turquoise energy flowing outwards and upwards in ever-widening arcs of light. They travel quickly, and cover the twenty miles between the fighters in a space of seconds. Each one is capable of doing damage characteristic of a lightning strike, though not electrical in nature. Should they miss, they will continue traveling upwards until they bounce off of the ozone layer at 30 miles and travel downwards again. Those that remain intact until they touch the ground eight seconds after the attack is launched will dissipate, as they do no damage after traveling more than fifty miles.

(ooc: Just a side note, but the shockwaves travel at 7.5 miles per second. Whee.)

ooc: So in all realism, I killed the real koneko and I am now fighting another one? I'll allow this for the moment, but not a second time.

ic: At this distance, Jaques had about two and a half seconds to avoid this attack. This should be plenty of time.

He immediatly swerved out of the way for each of the blows, and then finished with charging the death spell. Rather than release it at Koneko, then he chose to charge it more, makeing it so that two could be fired, one at koneko, and one at his sister's spirit. A duel destruction of the soul would get rid of his sister before she could protect him, and get rid of Koneko himself.

(ooc: Dammit, stop saying you're attacking Koneko! At least use my character's actual name! And you almost killed Ashra, but he was brought back from the brink of death. Since the attack was superpowerful in the first place, and your reaction clearly stated that it was going to be a one-shot kill, I saw no wrongdoing in massive amounts of healing. Somehow I don't think one turn of charging should be enough to instant-kill anyone, so your death spell WILL fail, unless it has more time on its hands. You stated in your post just now that you were casting a spell, that after ONE turn of charging, would completely destroy the soul of both Ashra and the tree. No. Actually, that last post was extremely vague, and since I'm not sure if you're attacking this turn or the next, I'll wait until you clarify before replying. I demand that you better describe your actions and stop breaking the fourth wall to attack ME personally.)

(ooc: Clearly, eh? Ok, fine.)

Not surprised at all at the dragon's dodging skill, Ashra concentrates for a moment, and many tiny green specks become visible in a wide radius around him. As he stares resolutely at his target, high in the sky, the particles scatter into a circular area covering miles from side to side, parallel to the ground. He murmurs something indecipherable, and each particle swells into an iridescent turquoise orb the size of a basketball. With a dramatic sword gesture, Ashra points at Jaques, and the swarm shoot off into the sky, following the dragon's every movement, ready to crash into him with the concentrated energy of the wrath of the forest. Each individual sphere is very low in strength, compared to the arcs Ashra launched the previous turn, but they move much faster, at about 100 m/s. Ashra watches with the same infuriating calmness as thousands of globes threaten to knock Jaques out of the sky...

These orbs wouldn't be able to have much effect on Jaques. While he would not be able to dodge it, or even have time to block it, he did have adamantium armour.

The orbs simply bounced off, and Jaques finished charging his spell. However, in order to make them faster, he choose to charge them two more turns, so that they would also lock on to the target.

Ashra sighs in exasperation. He had forgotton to command the orbs to shift through the armor. Concentrating once again, he commands the spheres, still in the same general airspace as Jaques, to charge once again, this time seeming mostly translucent. They will now pass through any solid object in their way, though this causes them to be slightly weaker upon impact.

Having given this thought, he then points his finger at his target. Green specks of energy fly out of the trees beneath him, and coalesce into a very dense green ball around the tip of his finger. He holds his hand in front of him, the stream of energy continuing to pour into it.

Now that the armour would have no effect, Jaques would have to rely on his dragon skin, which while not much stronger than mail made from steel, was still strong. So, as all ten came, one at the time, they bounced off, all causing slight bruises, but nothing Jaques would feel until after the battle.

Only one more post, and then Jaques could release his spell in all its strength.

Ashra continues to draw energy into the orb that he holds on his fingertip. Instead of increasing in size, it seems to just become more and more dense. He gives a psychic command, and his orbs fly back towards him and are, in turn, absorbed into his marble-sized yellow-green globe. He holds it in front of him, and it floats up into the air until it is level with his eyes. Ashra breathes slowly, before discharging a large amount of energy from his sword into the condensed essence. As the turquoise beam strikes it, it crystallizes, projecting jagged edges from its previously smooth surface.

Ashra waits in anticipation for his opponent's action.

ooc: I hate to say it, but you just wasted a post. What I use is not even like a projectile, at least not now that I charged it so much.

ic: Jaques then released both spells. It is not like a projectile, but instead comes out of the spirit of the victim itself. Any soul that Jaques targeted would be completely destroyed. The way this is done is by releasing evil. Not neccesarily darkness, or even something like or related to normal evil. It is made so that no soul, except for the most horrible, could survive. All that would remain is a lifeless body.

So, Jaques aimed this spell at the only two spirits here that were not him. This spell would locate a spirit, and then mentally Jaques would select one of the spirits, and the spell would attempt to crush that one. The effect should be instantaneous, and it cannot be absorbed, or blocked, as it was strong enough to fight through spiritual barriers.

(ooc: What do you mean, I wasted a post? Were you assuming I would move the crystal, still marble-sized, to block an incoming strike? No, no, no. And what do you mean, only other spirits? Forests are full of animal life, and they have souls, too!)

Ashra watches calmly as he senses Jaques reaching out for his spirit. He notices with satisfaction that his sister's soul is gone from the area; He'd known she would be able to escape. As he notices that the spell has nearly grasped him, he performs several prepared actions, all instintaneously.

He begins by reaching out with his mind for the space of the crystal he has formed. It is a soul gem, crafted from pure energy, that Ashra had hand-forged many years before. The entire process of gathering energy was in fact just a summon spell to retrieve it from its storage dimension. Ashra leaps into his soul gem, and he can feel his body as though it were far away.

He then proceeds to forcefully reverse the transformation of his body that had locked away his voidflare. It emerges, flaring up around his body as it reverts back to the Ashra that greeted Jaques so recently, and accepted this duel.

Commanding his body from inside the sealed gem, Ashra draws a single symbol with his left hand. It rushes forward upon completion, enveloping the crystal, and shifts it back to the pocket dimension, passenger included.

So the spell looks, and it cannot find Ashra's soul (unless of course it can cross planar boundaries, in which case he's kind of screwed), nor that of his sister (unless of course it can cross temporal boundaries, in which case she's kind of screwed). Ashra waits in his private demiplane for the spell to fizzle out with no targets, as long as it takes is a short enough time for him in his timeless world.

(ooc: Nira, Ashra's sister, got pulled out of this thread by Alex, controlled by Rya. Read that thread, I had no control over the time-travel stuff that led to this.)

ooc: I must admit, that is the most creative way people have avoided this spell.

ic: It the absense of a target, which was required for the spell to be launched, Jaques was forced to keep this spell, and wait for Ashra to come out. However, the spell could be altered. If there was no soul, then Jaques could release the spell at the body, and it would not be capable of hosting a soul. And with his sister having gone, there would be no one to recreate the body.

So, Jaques launched a small portion of the spell(not all of it, only about a quarter), toward Ashra's body, and another quarter at his sister's tree, which would prevent her from coming back to the tree.

He still had half of it left to fire at whoever he choose, or to charge some more, if he wished.

And as Jaques decides to attack Ashra's body, at that very moment, something very strange happens. The skin becomes translucent, and the voidflare is clearly visible, consisting of the entire inside of the soulless shell. As it becomes the target of the spell, it explodes. Not a destructive explosion, but Ashra's body is scattered into many infinitesimal pieces, the voidflare now occupying a cloud of vapor more than three miles across. Instead of there being no target, there are billions, each one capable of mantaining Ashra's soul.

As for the tree, it is merely a projection of Nira's energies. It no longer holds her bound, as the tree itself was burned to death, freeing her. The crystalline tree represents more a gauge of her current power than anything really targetable. If it is attacked, nothing can possibly affect it, as it does not exist while Nira is out of the time stream.

ooc: Just so you know, as you can't possibly attack while in this situation, it may be best for your character to resign. Jaques would go back to himself, and you can survive.

ic: Jaques choose to charge his attack one more time, so that this time it would go out in a shockwave, leaving death wherever it goes.
