OOC: Okay guys, here ya go! An open battle! The first one to respond gets to go at it with Yiusi! Normal Sim-Battle rules apply, but be as detailed and creative as possible. I like it that way. And of course, no killing! (Well, no killing MY character and vice versea, but the NPCs... that's another story.  ) And lastly: Have fun! Don't forget to have fun, that's what creative writing is all about!And with that said, good luck, worthy foe, whoever you are.  "Who's next!?" A girl steps forward. "I am." "What? You? Yer not dressed to ride Stardust Speedway!" "....Oh! Really??" In all her travels, Yiusi has NEVER been told that she's been dressed wrong for riding a simple highway such as this one. Stardust Speedway: a shimmering highway of gold, stretching from the ground to a mile in the air, an easy way to get from Civitas Alpha to any other city in the whole country. You ride a special platform attached to your legs so you don't fall off, and the platform streaks a good 210 MPH across the gold pipes, switching tracks when you lean during an intersection. It has been Civitas Alpha's prime sight to see for decades. Yiusi is a cute, peppy, 18-year-old looking girl wearing a gold skirt with a magenta stripe down either side. She has blue eyes and long, gold hair that flows in even small winds, making her look like a creature of sheer beauty, especially in the sunset. And she should look beatiful for a good reason-- though she looks human, she isn't... she's pure Oracle. Yiusi, though, isn't like any Oracle... She is mortal. Oracles are usually immortal... well, not Yiusi. As a sentence for defying her given destiny, Kyr'Shei, the Oracle Lord, sentenced her to 1 lifetime among mortals. And here she is now, with a dillema that plenty of mortals who pass by here face... It's only fair! "But-- this is my only outfit style!" "Too bad, girly. Next!" Yiusi NEEDS to get to a faraway city, and now. And the only way to do that is through the Stardust Speedway. What is she to do? While the guy isn't looking, she positions herself on the next platfrom and ties herself in, then hits the starting button. And she's off! BUT... she didn't tie herself in CORRECTLY. So what happens? Immediately the straps holding her legs in place come off, and she falls off the platform but manages to grab on for dear life. Usually Stardust Speedway, especially at nighttime like it is now, is the most beautiful thing in the world to experience. Night stars, a silver moon, and the endless sea of city lights below make an unforgettable scene... but not when you're about to plummet to your doom. And, since Yiusi can't hold on to a platform moving that fast forever, that's exactly what happens. Yiusi falls, almost in slow motion, to the city below... approaching the ground, closer and closer, with no way to protect herself from the ground... "Guardian Spirit! This is the end!" But as she gets about 300 feet from the ground, someone decides to save her. OOC: Yes, I'm forcing you to be creative. You're the "someone", if you haven't guessed. | The skies are bright with starlight, and the silver moon rises in the sky, as a familiar (at least, to all of you guys) blue light flashes in the sky and across Yiusi's body. The woman finds herself in the arms of a young man, who keeps himself aloft in the sky through sheer force of will... And a large duffelbag that he rides like a familiar crystal disc. Janus: "You ok there, ma'am? I figured I owed Schwa a favor or two about now..." He sets her down upon a nearby building, and grins as he observes her. Yep, she was as cute as Schwa had described. Nothing compared to that girl Grey was always chasing around, but we won't get into that right now. As it was, the favor was repaid. One of them, anyway. He folded his arms. Janus had changed, as usual. Gone was the suit, gone was the armor, gone was the red hat, even his hair wasn't white anymore. Instead, he wore a brown scarf and simple street clothing. Weight lifting gloves, shirt and overshirt. Even his pants were common, right down to the hems, which touched simple street shoes. Aside from becoming a notorious drunkard in recent years, Janus was completely human in appearance. No more heroism, no more psychotic adventures. Instead, he was living the quiet life. At least, until the Grey Dawn came. There wasn't much more to do than that. Janus: "Darn, you really are as cute as he said... I'd ask you out, but chances are the span of your life is pretty much a blink in mine's eye... Especially if you're human. Oh, and another thing..." He reached into his bag, and pulled out a small ball... A Royal Ball, actually. Odd, that he would have it, but it did make sense. Schwa gave it to him a while ago. A little bit of time travel, and he knew he'd be able to give it to someone who could use it a little better than he could. "This yours?" |

| OOC: Well, actually, the Royal Ball was only supposed to last for 15 minutes in Ragnarok. It said so quite clearly at that. But I'll give you one for style... Oh man, this is gonna be one awesome fight! Janus vs. Yiusi! A little confused, Yiusi stands upright after being rescued. She seems a bit wobbly, but only for a while... "You saved me. Wow. And I thought for sure I was meeting Kyr'Shei in a moment's time! Thank you, I suppose... but I don't really know how else to express my gratitude..." Finding her full balance once more, Yiusi stands to Janus's left side, observing him. "Wait a sec... Are you asking me out? Here, let me answer all your questions... No, I'm not human, I only appear it. I'm fully Oracle. I'm around 750 years old, and I wouldn't think my life is a blink, but you never know... and lastly, that actually looks like it belongs to Schwa. This one..." holding up her own variation of the Royal Ball, the Yiusi Ball which is a creamy yellow color rather than blue, "...is the one that belings to me. "Now I have some questions for you. Who are you, what info do you have on my friend Schwa, and do you really think I'm cute?" So far so good, Yiusi thinks. She would really like to get to know this person a little more, feeling a fairly large sense of gratitude towards him for saving her life... and the fact that he holds Schwa's Royal Ball is also very interesting to her. |

| Yiusi's puzzled. "60 years? Ahm, no. Mine's a special case. I used to be immortal, but I kinda broke the rules, and my Lord sentenced me to one life as a mortal. So when I "die", I'll just return to Oracle Haven as an immortal again. I'm looking forward to that, actually, because since I already defied my destiny once I won't get in trouble for doing it again. But I'm in no hurry to die, either! Earth is such a cool place! The places, the people... "And the whole thing started with a Buster Beetle named Yorra. You can ask Dracoon, Origin, APH Striker, Schwa or any of the 3 White Light agents and they'll tell you the same," she says with a smile. And for the record, she has no idea that this character knows anything about the White Light agents. "I sense something about this character..." Yiusi thinks. "Yes, my feelings should tell me correctly... Heeheehee, this is going to be funny!" She's got something planned. What it is, nobody will know... yet... |

He knew what had happened to them, he knew where they were... ...And he knew where they'd be. Instead, he took the conversation in a new direction. Janus: "So then, why Stardust Speedway, if you're in no hurry to die? This place is pretty crazy, you should have known that if you really are an Oracle." |

| Yiusi looks over at Janus. "I sense things. It's weird." She holds up the cream sphere of gel called the Yiusi Ball. "My Yiusi Ball and I have a spirit bond... the Ball is sentinent, and it kinda 'senses' the way to go... it's hard to explain. So when it senses which way to go, thanks to our bond, I feel it in my body and I head in that direction. Today the ball was screaming to go to a city called, er... Sandsalot, I believe it was, and so I tried the Stardust Speedway to get there fast. I was supposed to leave a long time ago, but I had stuff in this city to do first." There is silence. "What about you, though? Are you human or not? What do you know about Schwa? Where'd you come from, where are ya going? Those are a few starter questions for you..." Yiusi stares at the city as she speaks. |

| Janus closed his eyes and turned his head downward. He hated questions like this, but since she had answered his, the only honorable thing to do was answer hers, as well... Janus: "I see... I'm not human, but I am at the same time. Kind of an ex-demigod, or something. A bit like you, but the difference is that I don't die. Ever. Like, seriously. I've tried." He stands up and walks a few feet away from the ledge and onto the rooftop before answering Yiusi's second question... "As for Schwa, I already told you, a lot. Most I know is that he's some kind of prince, supposed to become the leader of his entire organization someday. He's a pretty good guy, if a bit idealistic. But that comes with the whole "Virtue, Wisdom, Honor" thing. Can't say I've ever really beaten him in a duel, the last time we fought, a good fifty some-odd years from now (don't ask), his Sensae was the one who kicked him down, not me. But that's just combat experience." "I've always seen Schwa as some kind of rival, actually. He's not competitive in any way, but it irks me to see him go on all of these ultra-important hero missions, when I just sit at home and drink with Grey. We're about the same height, weight, etc... We even look a little alike (which is why I try to change my appearance every now and then). Only difference between us is age. I've gotten what I've gotten after hundreds of thousands of years of experience. He's nearly godlike in skill and strength of character, and he's only a teenager! That's what gets me. So, you know, I try to prove that experience is always the best teacher." "But that's what also hits me, you know? Where I come from, where I'm going. He's got both of those clear. I don't even know what I am right now. I've got conflicts up the yin-yang.... They come every so often, you see. One's on its way soon, I just don't know when." He turns back to her, and looks her over. Friend of Schwa's, for sure. The inhuman beauty and blazing light energy coming from her was a little more than a tipoff. He always got the girls, too... Maybe Janus WAS getting too old. "Hm, I'm getting too old for this sort of thing. Never you mind those, we've got to figure some way to get you to that Sandsalot place..." He looked up in the skies... Stardust Speedway was no doubt going to be closed for repairs and safety checks, now that they thought someone had been killed. A few lawsuits here and there too, though Janus doubted Yiusi knew anyone who'd be willing to sue. In any case, she was stranded. You know, unless she could fly or something. |

| "Ahm..." Yiusi pauses, thoughtful, then stands up. "Sandsalot can wait. I'd like to ask you of something first, based on what you've said to me about Schwa..." She lets go of the Yiusi Ball, and it floats in front of her, giving off a mystical, cream-colored glow. "You seem like a good friend to Schwa. You value his morales and your own, and your insight amazes me. Now Schwa's taught me quite a bit himself, back when our souls were in the Etheral Dimmension together... The differences between him and you is that, one, he is definitely dead-set on his role as a Psi Warrior. That's good. You, though, don't quite have any one goal in mind... but that's also good. You've given yourself time to think more, whereas Schwa doesn't think as much; he feels whatever he's doing to the extent of almost achieving unity with his surroundings and friends, a good skill... but what happens when the battle is over? Emptiness. I bet you've never seen that as a disadvantage. "The friend of Schwa is my friend, plain and simple. Plus you saved my life, so I owe you one. My request is this: Just like you did with Schwa that one night a long time ago, do that with me. I want to battle you. We can learn more about each-other that way, and I have a feeling that you may even learn something about Schwa at the same time." "Interesting! I just challenged someone else for a change," Yiusi thinks. "I'm used to having everyone else challenge me first. This will be new." But the question... would Janus even accept? OOC: Meh... | OOC: Ok, gonna take this in a new direction here... Not sure how this'll go, but I want to give this a shot. Janus: "Man... You have no idea who you're dealing with..." A second or two passes, and suddenly the grinning Janus disappears from Yiusi's sight. He's moved behind her, so fast that she could probably only barely detect his movements. His eyes are closed, his hands placed neatly behind his back. A breeze blows across the rooftop as he raises a hand and runs it through a wind-sailed tuft of Yiusi's hair, admiring it with a smile. "Nah, I'm retired from the fighting scene, for the most part. Not much point in just wantonly challenging people anymore. I only fight in self-defense, or when I've got a damn good reason to, which thus far you've failed to provide. Reason, you see. Reason is the almighty power. It was what I held in my thoughts when I first challenged Schwa. I needed reason; reason to become who I am today, and Schwa only added to that. To be like him, if you will. To be that strong, honorable warrior. But random battles, they only hurt people. For what it's worth, I'd hate to hurt or be hurt for no reason. Set your priorities straight, you've got your whole life ahead of you to experience things." Double meanings abound in his rather cryptic message... Janus steps around Yiusi and moves his hand down her arm, finding her hand. He smiles and entwines it with his, giving it a quick squeeze that somehow turns from a gesture of affection into a polite handshake. He sets Satchel in the air, steps aboard, and prepares to fly off. If Yiusi wants to know more, she really should act now, especially considering what Janus is about to say. "Heh, to think you're eternal, as well... Why fight me? We could do so much more..." He (almost intentionally, actually) slowly rises into the air... "....together." |

Being the docile type, she doesn't really mind if she's ever putting herself in danger, as she can always defend herself... She doesn'r eally consuder Janus "dangerous", but it's always been a bother to not know what's going on... Nevertheless, she trusts her descision. Besides, she DOES owe him one... | OOC: I dunno, what do you think I'm thinking? Janus: "Oh, no. It's not that easy. You've got to give me a reason to travel with you for a while. I like strong people, show me your strength. Though, I warn you. I must say my interest in your abilities and that ball is more or less dwarfed by some more important questions that I wouldn't mind having answers for..." He disappears again, and moves fast enough that Yiusi can probably only just barely track his movements. He stops right behind her, and chuckles a bit as he whispers in her ear and grins. "For example, what's your favorite color?" He follows this up with a light swing of his hammer, just a love tap... If Yiusi isn't even good enough to see it coming, then she's got bigger problems than that hammer at this point. |

OOC: ....Nothing. Don't worry about it.  "Oh, you DO want to tango. Oh..." Yiusi closes her eyes for a moment, sensing Janus's presence jet behind her... and at the last second, crouches, as the hovering Yiusi Ball automatically slams into the hammer's path, stopping the attack and releasing a weak shockwave of Oracle Energy into Janus. The energy blast shouldn't do very much damage, but if it hits... some of Janus's life data will be read by the ball... Yiusi now turns around. "Les'see... My favorite color would be golden-yellow, same color as my Guardian." The ball flies and returns to her hand. "Sorry, Janus! I couldn't tell if you were serious about battling or not. I have a difficult time controlling the force of my attacks." Yisui makes a mental note to try and control it better if necessary, for that would be a vital skill no matter what kind of fighter you are... |

| Janus winced slightly as the shockwave rushed through him. Interesting approach, he thought... Janus: "Cool, that's cool." He stepped back a few feet, and bowed his head. He opened Satchel and reached into it. "You mean like..." He drew out a bouquet of tulips, beautifully perfect in their arrangement and growth. He always knew Harvest Moon would come in handy someday... ".... This color?" |

| Yiusi walks over. "Yeah... That color. Though I'm not a big fan of tulips, for some reason..." Yiusi thinks. Can this Janus guy give her anything she wants from that satchel? It's clear that Janus likes her, but he hopes he won't abuse the Satchel by "fulfilling her desires" or any of that... But even Janus should already be wise in that aspect. "Now let me ask you a question," Yiusi says energetically. "Do you know the speed of an electron orbiting an atom? Just curious..." |

| Janus: "It's variable. There's no set velocity in any electron's orbit, that's mainly why quantum physics is so hard to understand. Now if you don't like the flowers, then let's kick things up a notch, shall we?" He threw the bouquet into the air and the flowers scattered into the night sky. Janus spun into a whirlwind and caught the flowers in his tornado. His hammer scattered the tulips to pieces, and the petals on each flower turned a deep pink color as they flowed dreamily through the winds. The end result? To a gamer it looked like Plant Man's shield, but to a certain cute 18 year old girl, it'd probably look more like a beautiful display of... "Cherry Blossoms!!!" The petals spread outward at breakneck speed from Janus' body. Magically enhanced by his whirlwind, they cut the air as a wave of them sailed toward Yiusi, threatening to cut her just as easily. When it was all over, Janus was standing beside Yiusi again, and produced a host of golden daffodils. "These work?" |

| Yiusi holds her right hand in the air, and the Yiusi Ball begins orbiting around her as Janus pepares his attack... faster and faster, until it's just a cream-colored blur... soon it's so fast, a solid barrier is visible all around Yiusi! The petals all glance off the barrier, and after they're gone the shield fades and the Yiusi Ball comes to a slow stop back in Yiusi's right hand. She looks over at the flowers... "Those? Well..." While observing the flowers, Yiusi secretly points the Ball toward Janus (held low), and the Ball rockets out of her hand to try and slam Janus in the gut, hard. Once again, this shouldn't do a whole lotta damage if it hits, but this attack in particular is enough to knock the wind out of a guy. The ball, hit or miss, then returns to Yiusi's hand. "Now, aren't those weeds? And about the electron thing, I always believed that my shield worked like an electron orbiting an atom... It was fast, no? Maybe you should call it quits..." Yiusi holds the ball up, and it seems to be glowing a little brighter. "I've gotta try out this new trick, but I need a consecutive attack to do it," she thinks. |

| Janus is slammed in the gut and instantly collapses to the ground wheezing. He coughs a few times and gasps for breath desperately. He drops his FLOWERS (not weeds) to the ground and clutches his stomach in pain as his hammer clatters to the ground beside him. Sweat beads down his forehead as he tries to bear with the incredible, psychotic amount of pain that's churns his nerves and ravages his central nervous system. He is sent to a near stun-like state and stars dance before his eyes as he tries with all of his might and will to regain a semblance of conscious, rational thought in the face of the sheer shock of being dealt such a blow. Clearly, it's been a while. Janus: "You... ow... shit... I just saved your goddamn life... What the fuck was that..." He gets to his hands and knees and picks up his hammer, clearly mad. This wasn't gonna be a conventional date, that was for sure. He squints and his eyes glow ever so slightly blue as he grips his hammer in his hands. He rose to his feet with a hint of a scowl on his face, and stepped back, raising his hammer in an overhead position. He closed his eyes, achieving an almost meditative state... "Hoo... Alright.
