I want the picture to look like this:

I want the image split up like that, but not have it look split. The small middle part is what I want to STRETCH for long posts. I want a div (?) box in between the palm trees, but below my name. Make since? I can do quote color and all that stuff. A solid text box kinda like this layout would be nice.

If anyone can help me out with the HTML that would be SO great!!

I think I will keep this layout and not change if I can get it to work.

HTML-wise, you'll need 4 pictures, with my design put them in a table as follows:

< table >< tr height="(topimageheight)" >< td >< img src="topimage.xxx" >
< tr >< td >
< table >< tr height="*" >< td width = "(Leftstrechyimagewidth)" >< img="Leftstrechyimage.xxx" width=100% >
< td bgcolor="Sandcolor" >(text)
< td width = "Rightstrechyimagewidth" >< img src="Rightstrechyimage" width=100% >< /table >
< tr height="Bottomimageheight" >< td>
< img src="bottomimage" >< /table >

That code should work well, but you may need to tweak it a bit.

EDIT: fixed a mistake I made

I don't want it to have a horizontal stretch at all. It would make the background (waves and beach) look like crap. I only want a vertical stretch.

I tried out your code anyway, and it made the layout go all funky. I want an overlying text box (like my current layout) between the palm trees, and below my name at the top. Your code made my images, but the text was over on the side in a green box () not on the images at all.

So in other words, that code didn't work like I would like it to.

I might not be explaining it correctly tho, so lets see:

Top image is just there. I would like the text box to go from side to side not ontop of the palm trees at all. And have the top of the text box start at the top of the waves.

The middle image is the ONLY image in the layout that will be stretched. It will only stretch vertical, no horizontal stretch at all. It will only stretch for long posts.

The bottom image is also just there. The text box will not be on this bottom image. The text box ends at the end of the middle image.

The problem I seem to be having is the <div> tags. I can't get my text to hover over top of the images. No matter what I try the text goes on the left off of the images.

It's hard to explain exactly what I need it to do, so hopefully someone understands me.

Thanks for trying Darkflight.

Can you give me the URL's for the images? I could try as well, I'm feeling lucky.

Yep of corse:

The Top Image

The Middle Image

The Bottom Image

I hope you can do something. And thank you.

~EDIT~

I got alot of it figured out the way I would like it!

Here is the text file "What's Wrong". I don't under stand why the bottom and middle stretch things don't work.

That text file contains the code I am using. Most will be changed when I (or someone) figures it out.

Thank you soooooo much once again Boom.dk!! I am still making a few minor tweaks like color and links and style and all that fun stuff.

I need to make the background of the text box just a bit darker also, so it's easier to read!

And change the text color in my siggy so it's not that blue color.

Thanks again!

~EDIT~

NOTE: I AM DISABLING MY LAYOUT...SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG WITH IT.

In the preview mode, the text stretch looks fine, but in the actual posts, it goes off screen to the right. Do you know what happened? The only thing I had changed from your original code was colors.

Yeah.. all the blank space on the right doesn't really look good. :\ Do you plan on leaving it like that?

If I knew what you were talking about I would fix it. I am running IE at 800x600. It should be set to stretch the entire layout. I have no clue how it looks on a screen bigger than 800x600.

I will ask boom.dk later and see if he knows anything about it.

I don't see any empty space on the right, so for now it is going to have to stay how it is. Sorry. I will try to fix it tomorrow.

It doesn't stretch in 1024x768. The picture isn't wide enough, whatever size you made it to begin with leaves about 2 inches to the right.. just empty space. Some others have layouts like that, but it looks pretty tacky. See if you can fix it.. but how would it stretch?

Aside from the lack of stretching, it's pretty good. The text is a little hard to read, though...

Ya it is. I will make the BG image darker. Still transparent, but darker. I could always add black boxes onto the sides with small palm trees in them. I will see what I can do to make it better.

Thanks for your comments.
