Is it just me, or does this game kick ass? I started out playing it, and I was like, okay, there's a lot less text, so that's cool, but these chozo things make it just as linear as Fusion. So I kept trying to do the opposite of what they told me but I didn't get anywhere. Then my second time through the game (on Hard mode) I accidentally discovered how to get to Ridley the first time through Norfair. I was like, holy shit. Then I went and read about all the other "sequence breaking" shit. Now I always get the Varia suit immediately after getting the bombs, and I have the screw attack before I fight any bosses. Anyway, this game is massively cool to fuck around with and has a massive replay value. I only have two more endings to get, but it's fun just running around, getting everything possible without fighting bosses, and so on. Then there's minimum-percent completion. Holy shit. I mean, 15% is one thing. But 9%? No energy tanks, one missile tank, NO FUCKING LONG BEAM, etc.. Great challenge. |

I've completed it, it's a great remake from the NES version.

It's one hell of a game. My only gripe is that some of the bosses don't last very long if you just pump them with Missiles and Super Missiles. The final battle wasn't very difficult... Rather like the Omega Metroid in Fusion. Harder, but it had a similar feel... Then again, Mother Brain on Super Metroid was never that difficult either. It's still one hell of a remake. The graphics are spendid, as is the sound (I adore the Brinstar Depths theme...). It's such a different game it should never count as a remake. So good. ^-^ Oh, my only other gripe is that it's too short. Well, it's longer than the original Metroid, but I was hoping for a little more in the second section of the game. How about a trip to Maridia or something? That woulda been fun. Despite that, it's still a wonderful, wonderful game. And yes, you can skip stuff. Huzzah!! Turbo Bombing is back in business. ^-^ |

Yes this game is great. As for going against the order that's given to you, that's always been the fun part of all the metroid games. Doing that on the original metroid was near imposible, cause the abilities just weren't there, but on Zero mission it's all up in the air where to go. THe only problem i had was i didn't get powerbombs and I can think of a good five areas i couldn't get to because of that. I need to go through it again and find those bad boys.

Yeah, how DO you get to the powerbomb in Brinstar? I saw it being blocked by Speed blocks, byt couldn't get the speed Very great. Who else thought they could kill the Space Pirates with the Stun Gun? I did. |

Well I thought you could kill them with it at first, but then I realized that the space pirates were actually killing each other with their beams.

Beat it but haven't gone back to get 100% yet. Decent challenge given its length though... at least they didn't toss a ton of easy bosses *cough*Mother Brain in SM*cough* at you. Wonder if Nintendo meant to make the game pretty open-ended after your first game through. I'd guess yes. |

Originally posted by ColleenDefinitely. You can tell they designed it with sequence breaking in mind. For example, there's a secret way to reach the screw attack that ONLY comes in handy if you want to get it before fighting Ridley, or if you don't get the speed booster. Anyway... yeah. If you're curious, these are all the items you NEED to beat the game: Spoiler:
That's it. No super missiles, long beam, high jump, energy tanks, etc.. Actually, in Hard Mode, since you get fewer missiles per tank, you actually need one more item... this can either be another missile tank, a super missile tank, or the screw attack. This is to get through one part of Chozodia, where you have to either take out at least three missile blocks, or screw attack through some other blocks. Of course, 9% or 15% doesn't make a difference to the game, but 15% is MUCH MUCH easier, since you can grab the long beam and a few energy tanks, or whatever. |

I never played metroid Zero Mission. You see I have only seen it being advertise in a magazine called "Nintendo Power".

Right, and that's a reason NOT to play it? Are you saying that if you saw the advert somewhere else you would consider buying it? Do you let advertisements control your buying choices that much? O.o''

The ironic thing of course is that he said it was advertised in Nintendo Power... Last I checked, Nintendo Power only prints third party adverts. They certainly hype the hell out of their games, but... |

i really didnt like it as much as metroid fusion, which i had until i traded it in for zero mission... the game is ok,but then when you beat it, there is nothing to do. The reason i bought this one was because i thought that it would have a shitload of features. but they had the original metroid, which i cannot play, because it is too old. and once you beat the game, there was really nothing to do, you go around the same places, no new areas open to you, or anything, so if you got 100% in items, there is no reason for you to look around again... also, one addition to the actual game? i heard it was alot longer... all in all id give it a 6/10... |

Originally posted by oniblade Yes, just like Metroid Fusion and Super Metroid and ALL THE OTHER METROID GAMES. Of course there's nothing left to find once you get 100%. Otherwise 100% wouldn't be 100%. O.o'' Besides, there's way more replay value than Fusion, because you can SKIP STUFF, YAR. Find new routes around Zebes and all that. Unlike Fusion, which is the most linear Metroid game. And you can't play Metroid because it's old? That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard... O.o'' Super Mario Bros. is old. Still a freakin' awesome game. Super Mario Bros. 3 is old and is *still* regarded by many as the best game ever. |

Fyxe, it's just that the original Metroid has aged terrifyingly poorly campared to various other games.
