This demo, of my first romhack is about 3/5 completed level wise. I'm also planning on editing the music. (Screwed and Chopped) I don't really care about spoilers or ruining anything, so if you do, don't download this. This demo was out for a while, and never got here, because I never came here before.

URL for demo here.

The URL you requested is missing or unavailable at the moment. If you feel you've reached this page in error, please check the URL you typed in. If it's correct, feel free to email us and describe what happened.

Since the browser automatically inserts the proper %20 for each space, I don't think that space in the URL is the problem.

You need to replace the space in the URL to the patch with a question mark. At least that worked for me You can use this link for convenience.

All the screens look quite good, and I can just imagine what sort of things you'll be able to do with the new space pirates One thing I have to ask about is why Samus and the two enemies seem to be floating in the last screenshot. I guess you could've turned the layer for the platforms off, but I wanted to make sure

I'll take this patch home tonight and give it a try. It's looking good so far

Edit: Added a working link to the patch

Yeah, I did turn off a layer or two, because something was obstructing thier view, I only put the regular pirates in one spot so far.

Oh yeah, The "Kraid" boss will be messed up, so ignore it.

First of all, thanks, Karadur.

Second, until now the hack might have some weird layout (straight walls), but on the other hand it is pretty nice - until now.
I just cannot advance forward. Crocomire blocks the path and I have only 20 missilies.
Is this for experts only or did I miss something important in order to fight him ?

That also is fun, hence the world's title:

Just as a warning to everyone, the patch crashes the Europe version on the intro; I'm assuming it works fine on the Japan/USA version, but I'll have to check when I get on my other computer.

I did look at a decompression of the hack with Lunar Compress and I like the new maps and graphics.

In all it's a decent hack but it's too freaking hard.
I couldn't beat the acid guy w/o save state.
It's also lame how specific weapons will enemies.
How do you kill kraid?

Yeah, at first I couldn't even figure out how to move on in the large rooms after getting the bombs, seeing as all the doors are either power-bomb or super missile; I also couldn't even beat the first torizo after the bombs at first because it didn't seem to spit stuff you could shoot to recharge with. (That was before I discovered the 2nd missile pack, too; it takes exactly 10 missiles, so reloading is a moot point.)

The thing that's fun, though, is to import your quicksaves or srm's from before you patched into the game. Sometimes they crash going between rooms, but other times it's neat--because of the way the game keeps track of items collected it's possible to collect multiple Ice Beams, and I have 55 super missiles right now.

You might want to try to fix how the palettes and backgrounds get distorted when revisiting a room.

You have to shoot the blasts crocomire shoots out to refil your missiles while in battle.

To kill Kraid(which is, btw a prototype of how the fight's going to be in the final) shoot all your (super) missiles at him and finish him off with charge beam. I'm going to employ some strategy into that fight so it's not just button-mashing.

Also, the space pirates, with specific weaknesses don't suck, and aren't lame. if you see no use for them or don't like having to switch weapons through the inventory, new things will come in time, like a real-time weapon switching system. I'm trying to get Jathys to help me out on some things.

Oh, and please, tell me all about the bugs you find, I want to fix them.

I think everyone knows that, but it's still so friggin' hard!! I'm stuck at Crocomire because by the time you've recharged your missiles, he's moved further forward than you could ever push him back!!

I'm new here, and I've taken it upon myself to be a freelance hack tester. I've downloaded this hack and played through it as far as I could. This is a list of all the glitches I've found so far. However, I'm sure you're already aware of most of them.

-When standing on your ship, you sink one full block into it.

-When you first acquire the wave suit it says "Varia Suit."

-If you don't have the Morph Ball, you can get stuck beneath your own ship and unable to move. This isn't exactly a glitch, it's just poorly designed maps.

-In the lab area of Crateria, in the room where you first encounter sidehoppers. The background flashes white briefly before turning to normal. The pallet on the giant sidehopper is also glitchy.

-When you Spineshark out of the lab area of Crateria and through about five rooms (that totally kicked ass by the way) the background of crateria outside shows cave walls moving horizontally instead of clouds. This fixes itself once you move the current horizontal section of the background background offscreen by moving up one full screen, and then falling back down.

-When you're given a choice between two doors, one going to the green area just before Kraid, take the other door and the game freezes.

-Sometimes, when you're in the ice area, Samus' pallete will switch back and fourth from Varia to Wave suits. It also does that when speed boosting.

-Kraid, well, you already know about that.

-After taking the elevator down to the ice area, go right and continue along the path. Go through the door you need the high jump boots to reach and you'll be back in classic Norfair. Go through another two doors and it will warp you back to the underwater portion of crateria's lab area. This can be seen as an endless loop and prevents you from going any further in the game.

Super-Mega-Bump (But I have updates)

Old news:

Thanks Negative One, almost all the glitches are fixed, some can't be fixed, but all, with the exception of the cave wall thing everything there is fixed. I gave the guys on ZMD a new demo, and it's only fair that you get one too. The thing where you can't progress was on purpose.

New news:

This.

Reflecto hax

You can't be cheap and ball through because I put an invisible wall there. Beams pass through them. That reflecto block reflects beams where they need to go. Expect to see them used in a variety of ways.

The news thread of my hack on ZMD:
http://www.zophar.net/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=romhack&Number=268400&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&part=

Something to keep you occupied, also, you will get stuck after the gravity suit.

**This will be an image intense post**

The new demo looks alot better than the old one. I especially love the plant area. The part with the walls being poisonous to the touch was ingenious. The whole place reeks of Metroid II.

I've come up with a new list of glitches, map improvements, and general suggestions for you.
This time everything will have its own screenshot since I now know how to post images to this damn board.

With this here you see that there's a line going through Samus' ship. You still sink half a block into it, but only when you're standing on the airlock

This room right here is a prime example of lack of visual appeal. Everything is perfectly square and symmetrical, and there's no decor (plants, stalagmites/tites/ fany backgrounds and foregrounds) of any kind. When you're in a cave, it goes up and down and every which ways and narrow and wide, and it all looks very random, much unlike this room which appears to have been designed by an architect, rather than erosion.

Part of the tube is in the background, and part of it is in the foreground. That doesn't look right.

This part is annoying as hell just because getting down it takes so long. Getting back up is even worse! I suggest you do something to that place.

If you fall down this pit, it's impossible to get out. You need ledges there so you don't get stuck forever.

Sometimes, when you're running underwater like this, with your gun pointed forward after you've shot a missile, the back top block of Samus' sprite will rotate.

After beating Crocomire, the little plant ledge to get back out is a bit too short. You can't jump high enough and end up standing one block inside the door.

The problem with scrolling cave instead of scrolling clouds after spinesharking to escape the lab area is still there.

It happened again after exiting the room off the top right corner of the starting area.

It seems these doors stay green even after they''ve been opened. It's purely graphical. You can open them with an ordinary beam.

You can get permanently stuck by falling into either of these pits.

This happened after I went back into Kraid's room after getting off the elevator. The lava's still there, it's just invisible.

If you would like, I can provide some absolutely sweet backgrounds for you to paste into the rom data and then use. they're all SNES backgrounds so they'l be graphically compatable.

Negative One, you my friend, rock!
That is the most current download, and many glitches shown here are fixed, but some, alas aren't... Lemme address every one.

The ship... Fixed...
Fixed...

That room, I haven't touched in a while, but the one before the bombs was remodeled today. btw, those pipes everywhere, you can go through them.
More level stuff...

The pipe thing, thanks, just fixed it...

I'm thinking of changing the ball thing you don't like, I just got an idea, I may implement there tomorrow.

Columns: bomb at the bottom of the column to make a pathway.
Here's what to do there...

I can fix that next time I open TLP, thanks.

After the editing I did to gravity, you will be able to get up there correctly.

The scrolling crap... I just can't figure that out very well... It'l be fixed eventually.

The green doors... The green blocks (which used to be blue) and doors share the same palette, I'm putting my head together to figure a way around this. (I like the green blocks.)

The ice thing... You are supposed to go through the right hole to progress, you can't get back up, once you go down. That was purposeful. Like I said earlier, the demo ends with getting the gravity suit.

And last... The lava issue, I've never come across that before, you simply don't have to go back there after getting the suit.

The suit palette issue, Jathys made something to edit samus's palette, it only edits some parts.

Also, I won't make a new demo. Wait for the release, or you since you were so helpful, may get a secret demo soon. (For testing purposes )

OK, I beat Kraid (I didn't realize that no flashing =/= no damge) and I have the PB's, but I don't know where to go next! I found an area with a reserve tank, but I can't find anywhere else to go. Is that the end of the demo?

Remember those cool backgrounds I said I had for you? Well here's one of them

This is from Gradius 3

This background can only be used or horizontal coridoors only one screen high. But you can rotate it and use it for virtical coridoors only one screen wide.

BUMP!

Ok, there are a few things to update...

Lately I've been fixing old rooms, and planning new stuff, One thing, designed to scare people, won't be leaked to anybody.

New pics, New levels... All sorts of stuff.

Before
Before you blow up the "lockbox"

After
After you blow up the "lockbox," (Takes 4 missiles/1 Super Missile) which unlocks the room's gray doors. This is the first instance if it, later it will be hidden better.

Save rooms; all are different, some contain Energy Recharge Stations.
Save Rooms keep you going and going...
Charging...

Saving... Do not touch the memory card (8MB) in slot A
Notice three things: 1) Samus is underwater 2) New Saverooms 3) Varia Suit sprites fixed. (The standing ones and even the ones in the inventory...)

You ever heard of that glitch you can perform during the Draygoon boss fight, called Bluesuit? Well, I got some help from Kejardon, making this from a glitch, into an item! Here's some pics.

Proof of existance.

One of its many applications.
_____________________________

Edit: Update!!
_____________________________

Videos!
Created out of my competition with Drewseph, one of these depicts my reflecto blocks doing their thing, pointion your missiles where they need to go; into the lockblocks that control the doors shown. This video is 7z compressed, so make sure you have Winrar or another new compression tool. The video (After uncompressing) is an AVI compressed with DivX MP4 compression. You may need this codec, and probably will need Windows Media Player.

The other video depicts a playthrough of a portion of a morphball maze, it's actually longer, you just see a portion. This file is much bigger than the other one. (Despite the fact that it isn't much longer, that's why I'd reccomend getting the first more than this one.)
