I have an idea for a game...

Everything is in black and white to start with (meaning no colors can be seen), but as you aqurire certain objects in the game, certain colors become visible.

Ok, for example... Everything is black and white, like the trees, the water, the sky... Then you aquire the Diamond of Blueness, and all of a sudden the color blue is visible. What I'm trying to get at is having only things that are supposed to be blue (eg. the sky, the water), turn blue, where as everything else remains black and white.

I am hoping this is possible, because there would probably be a way to program something enabling certain colors, or using a command in the program.

My problem is I have no idea how to do this.

Somebody please help me!

It's most likely possible, but, I can't say for sure though... You're the first I've ever seen to come up with an idea like that. Sounds good... I wish I could help you onto how to do this, but unfortunatly, I really have no idea how to do something like that.

Maybe you can use the "Tent Screen", "Fog Screen", ect, options that are included with the program. Other than that, I have no idea of how that task could be worked out...

Thanks for the support, Chris! I've tried the Tint and Fog options, but I could only successfully pull off black and white. I might have to take this project to Game Maker...

If anyone knows how to do this in RPG Maker XP or GameMaker, post your advice!

I can tell you, RPG maker XP - Make objects for each colour avaible and make a change sprite based loop selection based on the switches.. or a variable.

Game maker is easy, You just make sprites for each colour and you change it in the draw command. Very simple in game maker (I could even help you)
