Hello. I just wandered into this forum for the first time a few days ago...and thought, meh, I might as well post up screens and info on one of the several thousand games I've been making on Game Maker. This one in particular is the most complicated/biggest one yet, so I thought it'd be a good one to show. Know that there's a chance that I wont finish it...and even then, there's less a chance that I'd put it on the web. But, you never know. So, here I go.

Super duper short summary: You control a UFO and go on a number of wacky alien missions consisting of destroying cities, abducting cows, melting things, etc. There will be a story mode with several chapters and many, many missions, with a bonus mission in each one that you complete to unlock secrets in the game. Also, there is an Arcade mode, where you can select 'Abduct' or 'Destroy' to play a classic game to get as many points as you can in the time limit. There may also be a multi-player mode, wherein you can choose to battle a friend, compete to abduct or destroy, and possibly play in co-op missions.

There's also an options menu. Bliss!

Now for the screens.

Flying over farmland in the Arcade mode.

Quick description: The green bar is HP, and the blue bar is energy.
The set of numbers counts the time, (Minutes, Seconds).
The exclaimation mark is the 'Sighting Meter'. The sighting meter flashes brighter and faster as more and more humans spot you - you can avoid this by cloaking, or abducting any humans that see you. As you are spotted more, the level becomes more prone for people to come by, to try to 'see' the ufo that's been reported. If you get spotted too many times, the military will attack you!
The pink box has text inside, that says 'Good' or 'Bad', depending on what you do. It helps you to know what gets you points and stuff, and looks cool.
The next set of numbers tracks your points.
And finally, past that is a counter for how many lives you have, displayed by miniature UFO pictures - though it only shows in Story mode, and this is the Arcade mode.

Abducting the cows, and getting points. Using the abducter beam drains energy fast, so it must be used skillfully.

Flying into the cows for chaotic fun! You don't points for this...but it's still senslessy fun!

Attacking the barn! In the abduct mode, the barns spawn cows for you to pick up...so it isn't really good to attack the barn. Oh well.

Cloaking, so the farmer doesn't spot you.

Humans that spot you report so on the telephone! You can destroy the phone so they cannot report you, but the alert repair man will come by each time, after a minute or so...so you must keep a watch over it.

Get spotted too many times, and you are attacked! The challenge usually ends around here...

Your scores in the arcade mode are entered! Simple trick, yes, but necessary for gloating.

The mission select screen in the story mode. If you think that it is a bit bare, more missions appear as you progress through the game.

The second level, taking place inside of the Mother Ship. The top of the screen is a bit glitched, as this picture was taken before I designed the status bar, so don't get on me about that.

And finally - the game has its own CG cinemats, that I design with Bryce 3d. You'll see them between chapters...this is the one in the beginning, showing a space ship flying around.

The movie's a bit long, and has the camera zoom around the ship and stuff.

The space ship again, only here are the thruster thingies.

So, there you go, you can post what you want about this. Just felt like showing it off.

It looks pretty interesting. It reminds me of Destroy All Humans, but in 2D. The only thing I noticed is that the background is the same in all the outside screenshots. It looks like it represents the night, but maybe a few others things in the background would add more to the environment. Besides that it looks very promising. The CG screenshots look a little strange, but they have a 2D feel to them which fits really well with the rest of the game.

Oh wow. Looks pretty neato! I'd be willing to play this game!

I think the CG effects could be nice if you did them in a way that they fit with a game instead of the player going "WTF?" when he sees the cutscenes. I am not judging the screenshots, merely telling you what could happen with cutscenes.
