Only 12, because you have the first 10 numbered FFs, (If you've beaten FFXI ...) and the two tactics games.

Say what ones too, because I'I'm interested in seeing how many people actually have beaten Final Fantasy games besides just 6, 7, and 10

I've beaten 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, and Tactics.

7, 8, 9, Tactics, and Tactics Advance.

Oh, I've PLAYED all twelve of them...

Just, never really beaten them.

And Sam, you're also forgetting Legend 1, 2, and 3 (even if they were Romancing Saga games), FF Adventure (even if it was a Seiken Densetsu game), and Mystic Quest (most definitely not an FF game but still one in name).

I haven't beaten many.

FF1, FF2, and FF7.

I'm almost beat FF8 last year but I lost and haven't played ever since. I really need to start playing other FF games.

You just answered yourself about the ones I've forgotten.

X-2 is kinda a sequal to 10, so in a way it is 10, thats how I viewed it. You don't have to beat it to say you beat 10, but really, who can actually say X-2 was a real FF?

I refuse to even acknowledge FFXI as a true game of the series.... fucking MMORPG's...

FF II US - beaten three times
FF III US - finished ... a couple of times, I had the cartridge until it died
FF V (emulated) - Finished it once, but not beaten neither the optional bosses Shinryuu nor Omega
FF VII - Got through it twice, some side quests done, but not killed Emerald or Ruby Weapon
FF VIII - Finished it once ... never again I will touch this game
FF IX - Finished it once - a second walkthrough was near completition
FFMQ (if that counts ) Worst FF spinoff ever, but I've beaten ist. Oh, the music was pretty nice.

Almost completed, I just kind of stopped:

FFI - Got to Chaos's tower.
FFII - On chapter 18 I believe.
FFV - Got to the N-Zone.

FFIV - Beat the so called Hard-Type through FF Chronicles. I say meh to that, I beat Zeromus with Cecil alone. He killed off my entire party, but since I leveled up Cecil alone (exp divide trick) he was extremely strong, and Zeromus was never able to beat me with him.
FFVI - Three Times. Emulated it years ago, beat it on Anthology, then finally got an SNES copy and beat that.
FFVII - Twice. Beat it years ago, then recently went back to play through it again a few months ago.
FFVIII - Once. I almost went through it again, and it's a great game, the gameplay is just too simple and repetitive though.
FFIX - Once, I've wanted to go through this one again too ... just haven't put in the effort.
FFX - Technically, I've beaten it. I'm all the way up to Seymour's final form, I watched my friend beat his File once and so I've seen the ending and what happens, I just didn't care to beat it myself (not my favorite FF ...).

And:

FFT - Twice. Beat it years ago, then went back to it a few months ago and beat it again.

To be perfectly honest, I've beaten all of one. Final Fantasy 7, on my computer (not emulated). After I found out about the save file editors that came with it (the only one I remember was called "J.E.N.O.V.A"), I used them without hesitation, so take that for what you will

I didn't actually complete the game either. I just went through it to see the ending, then started another game, and forgot about it. I haven't bothered with any of the Weapons (besides the ones that are part of the storyline, of course), nor have I done anything remotely related to Chocobos.

I pretty much wanted to play it, because of everything I had been hearing about how it was the best out of all the Final Fantasy games (although that may have changed by now, but if it has, I don't know about it), and the like, so once I played it to the end, the excitement of it had pretty much vanished

So in short, only 7, although not legitimately.

FF VII - Bought the game for me after a while without a new game on my Playstation (very long while ago). Beat it too many times. Still have to beat Ruby Weapon (and it still doesn't help that Yuffie can do 9999 damage four times in one turn and I STILL can't beat him...).

FF IX - Brother owned this. I beat it before him. Did a lot of things, minus the side quest boss... ummm... what was it called again? Ozma? Something like that. I just couldn't beat him, even if I absorbed his Doomsday move.

FF Tactics - My fav. I am so strong, nothing gets in my way! NOTHING! I love that level down trap thing. Level down, do something, level up with even higher stats! I mastered every class with my main character. I don't have any monsters that I use, though... just powerful people with persuasion powers!

Yeah... pitiful. 3 games... However, I have played all the other Final Fantasys, I just never beat them... and VIII I could have beaten if I only didn't overwrite my saved data when I was on the fourth disc!

You probably won't believe me when I say this, but he's easier than Emerald. Strategy:
One character, ultimate weapon preferred (Yuffie will do more damage than Cloud will, so stick with her)
Set her limit to level 3, and make sure she knows Doom of the Living.
Equip the Conformer.
Armor should be a Wizard Bangle, Mystile, or Imperial Guard (you need at least 6 slots).
Accessory should be a Ribbon.

Now the Materia will be annoying to get, but this is what you would want idealy:
Weapon: Counter Attack x 7 (preferrably mastered), HP Plus (level won't matter if you are 99)
Armor: Magic Counter, Hades, Master Summon, Double Cut (level 2 or mastered), Time (level 1) and Restore (level 3, which is Regen) or Master Magic.

Before the battle starts:
Use a Hyper.
Kill off the other two characters.

Battle: He'll start off by pulling out his tentacles, before the action stops (this will happen if you are fast enough) cast Haste. Cast Regen. Now wait. Once he attacks, determine the following:
  • If the HP tentacle attacked, use an Elixir or X-Potion if your HP is brought down to less than 1000. If HP is greater, Regen will take care of the rest.
  • If the MP tentacle attacked, use an Elixir or Turbo Ether.
  • If the HP tentacle did Shadow Flare, use an Elixir or X-Potion.
  • If Ruby did Ruby Flame or Ruby Ray, don't worry.
  • If Ruby did Ultima, use an Elixir or X-Potion.

Now, Yuffie (or whoever you chose) will do 7 physical counter attacks, at about 3000 damage per hit, then summon Hades. The damage Hades does is laughable, but Ruby will be stopped from this. While Ruby is not moving, unload on Ruby. Once Ruby starts to move again (generally after 3 or 4 rounds), STOP ATTACKING! Wait for him to attack again, then repeat the cycle. If you are able to use your limit (Doom of the Living), use it. Once Regen fades, re-cast Regen. Simple.

At no time should you ever attack the tentacles, unless you want to deal with him doing percentile damage (Big Hit) and Comet2. At no time should you ever revive your other two characters, because Ruby will do Quicksand now and then, and there's a chance you'll lose the one character you need for this strategy.

Just keep a cool head, and no matter how much you want it to, this will take a while. If you summon Knights of the Round, it'll just be longer. Trust me, the damage Yuffie does with the Conformer will add up, and he'll fall eventually. If you find that you can't survive Shadow Flare or Ultima, you may want to throw in the Master Magic and do M/Barrier now and then to keep yourself alive. I built up Cloud so high (max all stats), that both of them do about 5000 damage a piece. If you have questions about the strategy, feel free to ask. But with this, you won't need Final Attack + Phoenix/Revive at all. Good luck, and lemme know how it turns out.

ah, shit. I actually beat 4 of them.

FFIV, FFV, FFT, FFTA.

... but I voted 2-3, since I forgot about FFIV.

FFIV: Nearly complete; hadn't gotten all of Rydia's summons - a few item summons eluded me.
FFV: Completed, didn't kill Shinryuu or Omega
FFT: Completed, no Ultima or Zodiac (did beat Deep Dungeon, though)
FFTA: Completed, 283/300 missions; I tossed an essential mission item, though.
That is to say, I beat the sidequests except for those specific things. Did not level to L99 at all.

All of them.

Except for FFX.

And FFXI , if you count it as a real FF game.

I thought you really liked FFVI?

Lenophis: This is how I beat Ruby Weapon:
- Everyone dies but Cloud
- Cloud uses 4x Attack.
- Cloud gets beat up, use X-Potion, Elixer, etc.
- Cloud uses 4x Attack.
- Heal.
- Repeat.

Seriously.

Now, if you guys want a REAL challenge in FFVII, do this (and this is what I did, man it took me an entire night to do this). Simply, try to beat Emerald Weapon without having KOTR. I didn't have KOTR, because I didn't have a Gold Chocobo, I didn't care to go through the whole mating thing, so I just wanted to kill Emerald, get that item you needed, and win the Gold Chocobo and then get KOTR. A hard task, but I managed to do it with a nice strategy.

First, I used the Gravity trick and hit Emerald 4 times for 9,999 damage each. Specifically how to do this, I can't remember ...

Then I had Fury on Cloud, so he could perform Onimislash numerously throughout the battle.

That was about it, besides constantly attacking, casting Status Spells over my character, and whatnot.

Yes, I know there's a stupid Mime-Anything (including Limit Breaks, so yeah Onimislash) trick, but I didn't know about it at the time.

It was a good challenge, one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought (fairly).
