I tried a trick where you can see very much GFX - more than usual, but I had to agree to the fact that my rom would be 8 megs, no prob i think, i'll just won't save but it did automatically god damnit!! My whole hack is ****ed because it's so huge zsnes can't open it anymore, I backed up, but that would mean HOURS of work to restore the damage, please, how can I restore the original filesize/undo the idiot moron trick which is stupid cuz u can't use it without screwing up your hack!!!?

Your hack is actually probably fine. ZSNES just doesn't support 8 MB games. Try it out in SNES9x and it will work fine.

You can't un-do expanding your rom sorry.

Your best bet is to save all your levels (takes about 2 minutes), all your Map16 pages (may be abit tricky), and all your ExGFX. Then just insert it all back into a new game. It should take you only about a half hour if you had a basic hack with no ASM or blocktool blocks. This happened to me one time also.

open the 8MB rom in LM, go to the overworld editor, then go back to the LM window, open your other rom, go back to the overworld editor and press save.

The palettes should save with the levels if I'm not mistaken. As for the overworld palette, there is an option in the MAIN LM window to save "shared" palettes I think it's called. This saves all the palettes in the game (level per level) and the overworld into one big file. I have had palette problems using this tho. It would mess up certain things. Mainly the levels that don't contain a custom palette.

When ever I transfer overworlds from game to game, I re-do the palettes by hand. And the complexity of my overworlds makes it a long task.

Erm well, that worked. Sort of.
The level names and the edited message boxes were copied, but the palettes weren't (overworld and mario palette)

Edit: Argh! My whole overworld again, my fingers were still sore from the last time I made it perfect... Nooo! And Mario was just perfect *sniff* I will miss perfect mario so much. Well. Guess I'll get working. Why was the easter egg included anyway? Was is FuSoYa's idea to screw up someone's work?

Wait, so was the overworld transfered or not? The palette can be copied over like I explained above. However, if I were you I would do the palette of the overworld again by hand.

And why is mario messed up? He shouldn't be...

Well, in my 8 meg rom I gave mario an extreme makeover, the changes I made to him are lost now, and the overworld switching thing, I'm going to try that now.

EDIT: Yeah! It worked, only thing lost is my edited main screen (Chelsea thing), but I can live with that! Even my perfect mario edit is back!
Thanks!
p.s. Never been on a forum where everyone's so helpful, i love this place!

That's not designed to ruin things, it's designed to make enough space for all your custom graphics. (You must be using quite a few. ) Your ROM should be fine when you do that (though programs besides LM won't think so), just ZSnes won't run it. Snes9x will.
