| Shino Shadefoot, the halfling assassin, paced anxiously in the skybox overlooking the arena reserved for him and the other two members of his DiEn team, Jarukoth and Ada Cross. There was only one problem; neither of them have shown up yet. Jarukoth always liked to warm up hours in advance. It wasn't like him not to be here before a big tournament match... Just then, Jarukoth walks in with a rather content grin on his face. Shino: "It's about time you got here! The match is about ready to begin! What kept you?" Jarukoth: "Meh...I slept in..." Shino: "You...slept in?" Jarukoth: "Mmm...yep." Shino couldn't believe what he was hearing! Jarukoth always loved high profile fights. It wasn't like him to be this laid back at a time like this. Something had to be up. Only one possibility entered Shino's perverted mind... Shino: "Alright. What did she do?" Jarukoth: "Who?" Shino: "Ada. You haven't been acting normally since the wedding! What the hell did she do to you?" Jarukoth: "...Showed me the secret of life, I suppose." Knowing Jarukoth as he did, he figured they weren't thinking of the same thing... Shino: "...Okay, I'll bite. What IS the secret to life?" Jarukoth holds up his index finger. Jarukoth: "This." Shino: "...Your finger?" Jarukoth: "One thing. Just one thing. As long as you stick to that, nothing else matters." Shino: "...And what's this one thing, now?" Jarukoth: "...That's what you need to find for yourself." Shino sighs. At least he was beginning to sound like his old, sometimes philosophical self again. ...That is, until Ada sashays into the room, and the couple begin speaking in English accents... Jarukoth: "Hello darling! I trust you slept well!" Ada: "Simply smashing! I have missed you terribly, my dear!" Shino:  Normally, Shino approved of this type of thing between couples. But this...was just obnoxious, even for newlyweds... Shino walks out the door, mumbling to himself, and slams the door behind him in frustration before the two even notice his departure... A few moments later, Jarukoth and Ada stop acting so cute, and finally get thier act together... Ada: "Hey, wasn't Shino in here a minute ago?" Jarukoth: "Yeah, here's not here now?" Ada: "Nope. No sign of him at all." Jarukoth: "Well, where would he...oh crap..." Jarukoth gets a mild sinking feeling as he looks out into the arena below... ---------------------------------------------------------- Shino runs out to the middle of the arena, and looks around for Legault, the opponent for this round... Shino: "Alright! I'm taking over for Mr. Jarukoth the Preoccupied this time. I'd say the people need to be reminded of what I can do, and I've got no problem with that!" ---------------------------------------------------------- Either Jarukoth knew there was no talking him out of it...or he just wanted to rest for a round. Not that the reason mattered much, anyway. Jarukoth just sits down next to Ada, and tries to enjoy the match. He wasn't used to watching his comrades fight, and he prepared himself for an unusual treat. Jarukoth: "I'm looking foreward to this, Shino. Good luck!" ---------------------------------------------------------- Shino: "I'm not so sure yet if I'll need it or not. What kind of fighter IS Legault, anyway?" | "I am right here." Legault taps Shino on the right shoulder and then steps back. The light of the arena hits the armor Shinobi Shozoku and sends off a glair from the black armor. Out in front Legault is holding his Blade of awe with both hands slightly raising it up in a defensive position. "Lets do this." |

| Shino raises an eyebrow at Legault, and takes a few steps back after turning to face his opponent. Shino: "Alright. let's get this over with..." Shino calmly takes off his bandanna from his head, and tosses it on the ground between the two fighters, stretching a bit. With a flick of the wrist, a trio of throwing knives drop from both sleeves of Shino's jacket, and into his hands. A second later, he tosses the knives at Legault with little hinderance... --------------------------------------------- Ada: "Oh! I haven't seen that move in some time..." Jarukoth: "Neither have I. This is looking like a good fight already..." |

| "Blade of Awe." Legault puts the sword in one hand and begins spinning it. He spins the blade so fast that it is almost invisible. And is sending of so much wind that Legault's long brownish/reddish hair flies back. "Bring on the Daggers." The daggers were now flying right at Legault and they were traveling fast. Legault moves the spinning blade in the way and blocks the daggers deflecting them in all directions away from himself. "Not bad for a first move, but what is with the bandana?" Legault stops spinning the blade and grabs it with both hands. He then puts it at his side and charges at Shino with the blade pointing at him. When Legault gets within reach of Shino the stabs the balde forward with alot of force mainly built up from the momentum of his charge. "Eeeppppeeeee!!!" After stabbing at Shino, Legault pulls the blade back and takes a few steps back. He then raises the blade above his head. Ready for his next slash. |

| Shino: "What's with the bandanna? Just this..." As Legault charges, Shino snaps his fingers, and the bandanna explodes as he passes over it, releasing a large purple cloud of poisonous gas into the air around Legault. The gas also buys Shino enough time to dodge Legault's initial strike. Shino: "Feeling anything yet, Leggy?" ------------------------------------------- Ada: "Hmm. That's odd. His opponents don't normally look at Shino's traps that long before walking into them..." Jarukoth: "Of course, the ones that do never seem to suspect anything, do they?" |

| "I had a feeling it was a trap." SHINOBI SHOZOKU!!! As Legault is running past the bandana, the armor he is wearing begins to glow and grow bigger around him. His face is now covered by the black metal armor and is working magically as a filter against the miasma. "This is my true form." The only difference is that he is now wearing a helmit that is attached to the armor yet allows him to move his head freely. It looks juts like a hood and a bandana across the front yet it is black and metalic. On the forehead area is a plate that goes over his eyes and above his head. In front of his eyes is a transparent metal aloi allowing him to see through yet not get hurt as easily. As the face plate goes above his head it goes up and back about to inches above his head. "You may have dodged that but I will hit you eventually." Legault jumps up into the air and brings the sword behind his head, holding it with only his right hand. As he comes over Shino, he begins bringing it down and once it is over his head he begins to bring it down with both hands for more strength. Legault is now right on top of Shino and comes down with full force of the slash. |

| Shino quickly rolls to the side, and flips back up to his feet as the blade comes crashing down near him... Shino: "Byakugan!" His ocular skill, enabling 360 degree vision, activates, as he sizes up the situation. He seems like a primarily close range fighter. His heavy armor, weapon and wording all seemed to indicate this point. Plus, there was the unresolved issue of how fast he was... Shino: "So...time to play keep away, I suppose..." Shino reaches into his jacket, pulling out a pair of heavy iron balls. After swinging them around in his hand for a moment, the crowd can see that they are actually a pair of bolas. A second later, Shino hurls the bolas at Legault, aiming for his legs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jarukoth: "Well, I was right. | "Nice dodge but it won't happen that often, I hope." Legault sees the bolas flying at him and uses his ninja reflexes to jump over them and fly toward Shino. Once back on the ground Legault begins running, he is running so fast that all that can be seen is the shadow. "In a way this isn't really even armor in fact it is more of a protective tunic that looks like armor. Well it is a little confusing actually. It is armor but it weighs almost nothing." Once Legault is right next to Shino he jumps up into the air and does a front flip. In the middle of the front flip, Legault brings the blade of awe to above his had and holds it with both hands. As he completes the flip he brings it down right on top of Shino. With the weight of the sword the strength of Legault, and the power added by the flip this attack was fairly powerful. "This is very fun after this tournament we will have to battle again." |

| Shino: "Comeoncomeoncomeon..." Shino worries a bit after Legault escapes the bolas with a surprising amount of speed. However, his little monologing moment quickly eases his fears. Legault's speech provides more than enough time for the bolas to activate thier secondary effect; a loud noise coupled with a bright flash of light upon contact. Flashbangs concealed in bola balls, to be precise. Thanks to the flash of light, the shadows of Shino and Legault suddenly expand. However, they do not dissipate along with the light. instead, they connect with each other and expand, creating what can only be a giant shadow 'puddle' around the two, if shadows had the physical consistancy to form such things... However, that idea didn't even come close to entering Shino's mind. All that he cared about was that as Legault's sword came crashing down, Shino disappears into the shadow, and is nowhere to be seen for the moment. Suddenly, a voice comes out of nowhere, and can be heard by everyone... Shino: "Confused? Don't be. I'll make it simple for you. Just ask yourself one question: 'Do I first focus on fighting Shino, or..." Shino's torso begins to rise out of the shadow behind Legault... Shino: "...do I first find a way out of his Shadow Matrix attack?" Three more throwing knives drop from his sleeve and into his hand, and Shino hurls them with his trademark skill at his opponent... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Ada: "Hmm. A fair bit of move explanation in this fight, I'd say. " Jarukoth: "Yeah. Normally, I just rely on the commentary of other characters to further explain my skills..." Ada: "..." Jarukoth: "...What?" Suddenly, Ada feels a bit of pain in her stomach... Ada: "I...I don't feel so good..." Ada quickly dashes to the skybox bathroom with an unusual urgency, slamming the door behind her... Ada: *retching* Jarukoth: "...Honey?" |

| "This darkness is pefect for me to." Legault begins wandering around and stopping every once in a while to see if he can here Shino breathing, but he can't. Legault turns around just as the daggers are thrown at him. "What the hell?!?" Legault tries to dodge but the attacks were to close to him to dodge well. Legault moved his feet as fast as he could so the daggers wouldn't hit his feet or legs. He did the best that he could and dodged two of them, however the third one went right into his ankle. Deflected out by the armor the dagger mearly scratched his leg. "Oww that really hurt." Legault backed into the darkness not even making a sound. (edited by Legault on 07-16-05 02:21 PM) |

| Shino: "I don't know how you intend to use this shadow. Only I can vanish into it. This shadow is a part of me..." Shino melts back into the shadow, vanishing for a moment, and reappearing beside Legault. A pair of chains, covered in knives, fire out from the sleeves of his coat, attempting to wrap themselves around Legault... Shino: "I won't let you get away...not when the crowd is getting into it..." ------------------------------------------------- Jarukoth: "Honey? You ok?" Ada steps out a moment later, not looking too good... Ada: "I've been better..." Jarukoth: "...Maybe I should take you down to the infirmary." Ada: "I'll go myself." Jarukoth: "...You sure?" Ada: "Yeah. I'll be alright." With that, Ada leaves. Jarukoth wasn't worried too much. She was strong, and she could take care of herself. ...Besides, right now his friend could use his support, even though it seemed like Shino wouldn't need it at the moment... |

| OOC: How am I supposed to do anything about your shadow? ------------------------------------ Legault backflips on the ground to dodge the chains that were thrown at him. One chain flew when he was on his hands and flew past when he pops up into the air for the back flip. He does this same tactic to dodge the other chain also. "I can't seem to do anything to you." Legault charges straight at Shino after doing the two backflips, and tries to stab at him with his sword. Hoping to get to him and attack before Shino went back into the shadows. "I will hit you sometime." Legault backflips away from Shino and crouches down with his sword straight up in the air. He begins charging one of his swords special abilities. Ready to jump straight into the air incase Shino should appear next to him. |

| OOC: There are a couple of ways, at least, of dealing with it. One method I hinted at in my last post... ----------------------------------------------------- Shino: "Take your best shot, Leg Malt!" Once again, Shino drops down through the shadow, seemingly eluding Legault's strike. However, the same moment the sword impacts the ground and shadow, Shino rockets upward on the otherside of the shadow, as if reacting to something... Shino: "GAAH! Alright, enough hide and seek..." Shino then retracts the knife covered chains a bit, wrapping them around his body... "Multi Size Skill!" Shino's body quickly inflates, turning his body into a massive ball shape... "Spiked Meat Tank!" He starts spinning his body faster and faster, before finally rolling himself like a massive spiked boulder at Legault... |

| Legault allready ready for the attack waits until the spike ball of human and spikes is right on him. He then springs up and flies over the ball and lands on the other side with his sword still straight up in the air charging. "You have one more turn." Legault crouches down again and the dark aura around him continues to grow bigger. The aura is sending of a dark lightning that is almost purple. |

| Shino quickly deflates back to his normal, halfling size upon hearing Legault's statement, the knife chains dropping down around him. Shino: "Finally kicking it up a notch, eh, Leg Vault?" Shino was so focused on attacking Legault, he didn't even notice he was about to perform a 3 Round Charge move. It was clear he would need something other than the Shadow Matrix to deal with a 3 round charger... "Shadow Clones!" Six clones of Shino appear beside him as the Shadow Matrix begins to dissipate under his feet. They stand together, all with a dagger drawn, ready to deal with whatever Legault may throw at them... Shino: "Come on...let's end the suspense already, shall we?" --------------------------------- Jarukoth: "Hmm...Shino seems to be getting a bit more courageous lately..." |

| "Well since you asked so nicely." Legault's charge was now complete. His darkness aura was so big that it was engulfing an entire area of about 9'x9'x9' . The attack was now ready. "Don't think those clones are going to help out any because this attack hits all opponents. Wether they be real or not. So no more wait." MULTI-NINJA DEATHSTRIKE!!! The entire arena went dark. Around each one of Shino clones and Shino a darkness orb appeared. It seemed that the dark orb came from within each of the clones and Shino. It was as dark as a cloudy night and nothing could be seen through it. The orbs encased each one of the clones and Shino. Once entirely encasesing them six beams shot out from each orb. One going north, one going south, one going up, one going down, one going east, and one going west. The beams shot out at least five feet each and once out they began spinning. Faster and faster they spun until they were spinning so fast even if it was bright it would be impossible for them to be seen. In the very center of the orbs a japanese symbol appeared, it was the symbol for darkness. The orbs then crashed in on the clones and Shino exploding and doing great damage if not dodged. The light cam back to the arena and the fighters could be seen once more. "How'd you like that?" --------------------------------- OOC: That entire attack was done in less then two seconds. | Seeking to defend thier true self, the clones rush to grab the real Shino, and heave him out of the explosion's path as quickly as possible. However, the explosions go off as Shino goes flying, catching him, but not fully. The other clones are vaporized instantly. Shino is caught a bit off balance, and goes rolling, portions of his coat still smoking from the blast... Shino: "Th...That..." Shino slowly rises to his feet, slightly dazed... Shino: "Now...THAT was more like it! Just don't get cocky, Leg Salt!" As he speaks, Shino's hand begins to glow red. A second later, he slams his hand onto the ground, causing a pillar of smoke to briefly rise from the ground... "Summoning!" From the smoke leaps a wolf with long, reddish fur. Its fur is bright, and almsot looks as if it were on fire as the arena's lights reflect off of it. Shino: "Katoko...burn him!" Katoko takes a deep breath, and breaths a streaming blast of fire not unlike a flamethrower at Legault... ---------------------------------------------------- Jarukoth: "...Okay, I know he did nearly just get blown up, but Leg..'Salt'? That one was just... stupid." Shino: *via ComLink* "I heard that..." Jarukoth: "Well, it's true..." Shino: *ComLink* "Tch..." | "There is plenty more were that came from. It just takes a while for it to charge." Shinobi Shozoku Legault's shirt and pants become the armor of the ninja. Slightly weakened by the amount of energy he put out the last turn, Legault rolls out of the way of the fire. But with the energy lost he was unable to roll fast enough out of the way and the heat of the fire on Legault was tremendous. He was really winded after the fire died down. "Agghhh Fire hot." Legault deactivates the armor and it returns to a shirt pants and a hood. Sweat runs down Legault's red face as he pulls a glass of water from almost nowhere and drinks it. "Sorry I don't want to dehydrate." Legault slightly rejuvenated by the glass of water, raises his sword high into the air and then charges towards the fire wolf. His sword now down and pointing straight forward, Legault charges fast into the wolf and tries to slash and kill it. "What else can you summon?" |

| Shino: "Like I would really give away my tricks to my opponent, Leg Fault..." By the time Legault focuses on Katoko, it has already started breathing a dark cloud of smoke, which quickly consumes Katoko and Shino. When Legault goes to attack, the smoke begins to fade, and is met by a a pair of Shinos, struggling to keep Legault's much larger blade at bay with thier daggers... Shino: "Gghh...Ready, Katoko?" The second Shino grunts in approval, and both Shinos dart off in opposite directions... "Shino Pinball!" The Shinos curl up into balls, and fling themselves at the walls on either side of the arena. As soon as they hit, they immediately ricochet off, and fly to a wall on an opposing side. With every ricochet, they seem to be going faster and faster, leaving cracks and craters on every surface they hit. Given the Shinos building speed and varying ricochet angles, it appears as if they will slam into Legault at any second... --------------------------------------------- Jarukoth: "Hmm. Full of old school moves today, aren't we?" Shino: *via comlink* "Yeah......and?" Jarukoth: "...The nickname was decent." Shino: *comlink* "That's better."  |
