| Um. Guys. This is kinda old...As someone at GameFAQS found a way to get to thel ast boss with 17 stars Looooong ago...Months ago. Its just a speedrun was never done. Back when I was keeping up with SM64, I even tried it and it works. I havn't watched it, but I know prolly exactly what it does. It uses the bunny through the downstairs boss door and the slide up the stairs to the last world and the slide up the never ending stairs. All very easy. All really NOT new... | |||

| Holt shit this guy is awesome! I had no clue about the backwards long jump up stairs, but every other glitch I knew about. Question: Is it possible to backwards long jump up the foyer stairs? You know, the ones that you see when you first enter the castle? If it is, you could skip the first and second bowser, and beat the game with 0 stars  ...I would give it a try if I knew how to do that backwards long jump thing... |

| I spent one whole day playing Mario 64 to get 120 stars and beat it...all in one sitting. It was one long day...though possibly worth it. I used no glitches. So, yeah, like seven hours . |

The other stairs ended also, and he used the glitch. I may try it out if Ii feel like it/have time .Anyway, to answer Danielle's question: I can beat this game in about 3 hours. This is getting all the stars except the 100 coin stars in each level. So it includes all the regular stars in each level, and the secret stars. The level that makes me the most frustrated is that second snow level. The one that is "hidden" in the wall. I HATE that level  .I figure maby takes me 4 hours, maby 5, to complete the game 100%. I guess I could time myself someday and post the result .I also don't use any glitches to help me out. I do use lots of wall jumps to get places. In the video, the guy used wall jumps that I use that I thought no one else did ...Like the one in hazy mazy cave. |

| I switched browsers, and the movie started to work fine for me. Huh. That was really cool. Even though he made several noticable errors. the whole movie was really impressive. I don't know about you guys, but I've never been to hot with keeping Mario running and timing jumps and all. I always messed up somehow. Just watching him do that.. wow. I wonder how many practice runs he went through. |

That jump on the secret slide was SICK! I've never done it like that before! :O Also, I doubt this was done with savestates. No wonder it took so long to come out with this speed run... what would this be, 9 years? 9 years practicing this shit just so you can make a speed run. | Well, how about the rabbit glitch? I saw that he used the rabbit to pass thru a door without having the number of stars required. Could you bring the rabbit up into the foyer (it would take a while going thru 3 doors) and then use him to pass thru the key door. Then you could beat the game with 12 stars I think. I tried to do the backwards long jump thing, and kinda got it to work. I was on the foyer stairs and was attempting it for like an hour. I did hit the ground and fly backwards pretty fast, but I just hit the door and it made a dedededededededede sound. Like when you stand on an edge that you are kinda falling, but your not. It's hard to explain. As if I was stuck on the door. It showed the other side of the door too, so it MAY just be possible. Also, there is a slope overtop of the key hole door that if you land on it just right, you fall thru the ceiling, but just pop back out . I was hopeing I could get thru the door by doing this. Guess not tho. |

| Thats also a no with the rabbit glitch... The rabit glitch only works if the door connects to to the same area... The foyer and the basement are two different areas...so It is something to be look into, but MIPs only appears after 15 stars... |

| No, the foyer, basement and top floor are 3 different areas. You have to actually open the door to tell the game to warp you to the next level, otherwise you just end up in the dark room of death beyond the door. And you need 15 starts to get teh bunnay. Also, forward long jumping doesn't work because there's a maximum speed limit. There's no minimum speed limit for long jumps, though, so you can build up buttloads of speed moving backward; enough to plow right through the endless stairs' barrier before the game even realizes you've touched it. |
