I need to hide the status bar in 1 level, and I want to know if that's possible and if it is, how can I do it?

If your using ZSNES, press 3 on your keyboard. It will make layer 3 disappear. But actually, I think that making the status bar be gone in JUST level 1 isn't very possible. It would also get rid of the end credits of the level (where it tallies your points), and get rid of any layer 3 mist/rocks/water and message boxes. Why do you want to disable layer 3 anyway? Actually, Kei, it's very possible. All you'd need was a custom block that tells all the status bar drawing functions to take a hike. It shouldn't be hard at all if you knew how. But I don't.

Oh! I had no clue that you could use blocks to do that. Well, Smallhacker has made a status bar editing program, so he probably has alot of Status Bar data. Perhaps if you ask him really nicely he may beable to post the information? Then a custom block maker could possibley create one? Just a thought. Also, Nad-Gob, why do you need this? Wouldn't it look kinda strange with no status bar... |

Well, actually, you might need to add a little code in when the status bar is drawn that says "If this variable is set, don't draw the status bar." And then you'd need to have the custom block set that variable. But for all I know something like that already exists. Like I said, I don't know too much about this. |

Such a thing exists already, look at Bowser's Battle for an example. It disables most of it somehow, it'd likely be a hop, skip, and jump to call the routine that does it.

There should just be a byte in VRAM that toggles layers on and off. Just disable layer 3. That item sprite could be a problem though. |
