Final Fantasy IV is the first RPG I ever played and I still love it the most. I despise FF VII, the only character worth half a shit is killed off before the end of Disc One (and if that somehow spoiled your playing experience U R SHELTERED :O ).

Originally posted by Edea I liked a few of the other characters. Actually, I hated Aeris and Yuffie in my first play through the game. Now, I don't really know why. Yuffie is awesome. |

I just realized that Yuffie is THE ONE LINK BETWEEN PIRATES AND NINJAS. She is the one thing that prevents them from going to war. Born of the pirate overlord "Garr", and ninja queen "Leet", Yuffie was trained as a ninja for 13 years before learning her father was a treasure whore. Then, Yuffie became like her father, but with the skills of ninjitsu. HOLY SHIT I AM BORED. |

Tamarin, you are right but, let me tell you, I still believe that it is stupid no matter WHO cries over something that isn't real or true! It's kind of stupid to cry over something that isn't true, NOT BECAUSE CRYING IS FOR BABIES, but because there is no point! However, if the game was based on a true story, and I know it isn't, that would be a whole new thing altogether. You may think "I'm not the sharpest knife in the kitchen" but I believe that pointing that out isn't necessary on the count of you're not one to talk since you aren't either... And by the way, if I knew somebody who cried after every character in a video game died, I would want him/her to understand that crying has no purpose before that person gets really hurt either emotionally or physically. Trust me, I know sixteen-year old morons too and they would beat up someone like this in a heartbeat! (Even if they feel the same way about that character's death because they wouldn't want to look like losers in front of their friends)
Tamarin Calanis We exist. Earth exists. The universe exists. Do we really need to know why? Level: 59 Posts: 1705/1802 EXP: 1672751 For next: 377 Since: 07-12-04 From: The gas station on the corner... Since last post: 5 hours Last activity: 5 hours |

Hmm. So it's a matter of the 'point', then, is it? Shit, even my logic isn't that cold. =/ I mean, the events of a video game don't bother me much, but I can at least understand why it affects other people. And since I understand why, maybe I can help you understand why - I'm not trying to change your mind about it being a waste, though. People are human. Humans get attached to things, some real, some not. In the course of playing a video game or watching a TV series or reading a book, some people get a bit attached to the characters. This is why they cry when their favorite character dies, or why they're happy when an enemy they hate is killed. Of course, a lot of us are guilty of the last one, so why is it such a stretch to understand the first one? Now, I'd like to stick this thread back on track, so if you must continue this discussion, take it to PMs. I've played Fire Emblem and Tales of Symphonia more... ToS wins. A lot. It easily gets my vote now. |
