You must figure out the riddle as well as the answer here. This is of my own design, so lets see if it's too easy or hard. When you give the answer, you also have to give your reasoning, or how you got your answer.

Without further ado:

Every queen cedes-- four frenzied people fleetly becomes seven, seven becomes seventy. Divided, these assemblages frequently disperse by theirselfs, thereby lessening every queen's responsibilities. Two examples evidencing theirself entailed rebels, even generals. These reached Queen Lenore & educed Lenore's legendary excerpt, "Rebellion equals treachery & degrades what generals overwhelmingly feel, allegiance."

By the way, since no one seems to have gotten it- feel free to post here about what you're thinking, maybe try to solve it together?

And I may drop hints here and there.

omigosh double pos- shnaw screw it...

Well it's time for detective para to get out the dictionary...

The queen pisses 4 people off. these 4 people get 3 others into a frenzy. Then a riot breaks out and it becomes 70 frenzied people. Then umm... They die for some strange reason.. ...

noticed something else. the frenzied people our first added then multiplied then divided (then minused?)

EDIT: When to dictionary dot com.

cedes = To surrender possession of, especially by treaty.
assemblage = a group of persons together in one place [syn: gathering] 2: a system of components assembled together for a particular purpose [syn: hookup] 3: the social act of assembling; "they demanded the right of assembly" [syn: assembly, gathering] [ant: dismantling] 4: several things grouped together or considered as a whole [syn: collection, aggregation, accumulation]

The Queen made a law, that got 4 people into a frenzy, they told 3 other people that joined them, then the entire town got into a frenzy, and then they all overthrew the ween and all was well?

You tell ME how I got this idea. Well, cedes tipped me off so I came up with this.

You're both way off....

That was the first route that I tried.

But don't you need to come up with a question and an answer from what you're told, NSNick?

people can also mean "a people", which would be the citizens of a nation or kingdom.

Therefore, I think this might be more in the right direction:

there are 3 queens and 1 king, with a total of four kingdoms and peoples. Each queen cedes a portion of her kingdom, resulting in 3 new kingdoms and peoples. Soon this new and unstable system resulted in the kingdoms' being split into 70 warring city-states. Fortunately, the queens did not have to deal with the responsibility of battling these city states. Internal rebellions and and power-hungry generals destroyed them from within.

Well, you definitely need to come up with an answer. I wouldn't say you have to "come up" with a question, so much as find it...

Hint: This is very much a lateral thinking puzzle.

Edit: Meaning, don't look at meaning of the literal paragraph.

4+3 = 7
7*10= 70
70/2 = 35

The answer is 35

The E is larger in the image. Does it have something to do with eliminating E's from the
text?

Removing all the words containing the letter E, we get: four by two what

4x2 = 8, so maybe the answer is 8?

then again...

he says "theirselfs" instead of "theirselves", which could be a clue to another answer

Simply put, yes. Apophis is the closest I've seen so far. But still wrong, so far.

Eliminate all the words with two of the letter "e" in them. You get:
Four divided by two equals what [?]
The answer is two.

[edit, in case that's not enough reasoning]
I noticed that almost all of the words have two of the letter "e" in them. The use of "theirselfs" rather than "theirselves" is an unusual choice of word, but it's chosen to fit that two-e rule. Playing off what Apophis said about eliminating stuff with E in it, I got rid of all the two-e words and was left with the above phrase. The rest is history.

We have a winner! Yes, the key was to eliminate all words with two Es in them. The dropshadow on the E in Eliminate was the clue there, along with the word choice. Good job on getting it, Jagori! Apophis, good job on leading everyone down the right path. You were so close.

And para, if it were that easy, I would.
