This only includes games from the main series, as Final Fantasy Legend, Mystic Quest, and stuff like that aren't really Final Fantasy games.

WTF? 2 of these threads? Oh your just correcting the first lame one. Also you'll most probably find there are about 10 other threads like this one on other pages past.

I vote FF7

Alright, one of these has to be closed. The other one sucks, so leave this one open.

Final Fantasy Tactics, dammit!

Alright, alright, I guess I can't pick that one. I should give you a warning for that... *grumble*

Fine, then. FFVI.

It's just that I don't think Tactics is really Final Fantasy. I could edit the poll of course, but everyone would have to vote it again. Oh well, you're a moderator.

EDIT: No they don't. But I know you didn't vote for 6, so vote for Tactics to your heart's content!

Agh, why did you edit in FFT? I always look at FFT as a stand-alone game, seperate from the chronical series.

My vote goes for VI though, has been, and probably always will be.

I won't go into too much detail, but I just thought it had one of the best villians in it, some of the best character development, incredible gameplay, and some very awesome themes.

And my vote is fair, since I have played and pretty much beaten FFI-FFX. (cept for FF3j)

And for the record, FFIV and FFVIII ARE good, I don't know why so many people hate those two.

Edit: I believe I already know the outcome.

I can understand leaving FFAdventure out - as far as I know, that was actually in the Mana series, but renamed to sell better.

TO be entirely honest, someone's gonna ask for the FFL games and Mystic Quest to be included...

Xeo: FFIV was simply too damn linear. That's the main problem with it that I can see. FFVIII was, once you understood the Junctioning, far too easy. 126 Vit, 50-70 Str, almost 4k HP... yeah, Squall was almost stronger than Edea, alone.

Well that's not my point. I've heard too many times that "FFIV sucks" or "FFVIII just sucks". Sure IV was linear, but it was still fun. And the same goes for FFVIII even if it was one of the easiest RPG's ever it was still a "good game".

My vote: Final Fantasy VI
Reason: FF6 was one of the best SNES RPGs I played. Only Chrono Trigger is better than it (in my opinion, of course). I like the music, especially the whole opera thing. I even have some soundtracks somewhere.
The gameplay was good, and the graphics were good as well. While it is true it's "inferior" to the later FF games, it's still my favorite.

The reason why I included Tactics in the end was because even in Japan, it still had the name Final Fantasy in front. Under pressure from you, I put it in. FFA is part of the Seiken Densetsu series, FFL SaGa, and FFMQ was simply Mystic Quest in Japan, and not at all an FF game originally.

4 is my favorite...

For lots and lots and lots of reasons, but there is one main one. Out of all of them you didn't have to deal with a guy thinking "Oh, maybe she doesn't like me... maybe she does... hmm..." Cecil and Rosa's love is obvious at the begining, Kain's jealously also adds in a little more than a lot of the other ones. Really, look at all the other FFs, I don't really remember ANY of them having anyone be jealous. The battle system also seemed most fun to me and the game was never truely easy if you didn't spend a forever leveling. It is possible that I like this game so much, just because of two of the characters, Kain and Rydia, so w/e, it still gets my vote.

5, I hate buying magic first off, not that this really matters at all, but I do hate it so much.

6 had almost no developement, and most of the characters sucked. Hell, you didn't even have to get them all back if you didn't want to. Now, Kefka was badass, I won't say anything bad about him.

7, do I really need to explain it, I mean... It was good, I liked it and it was a good game, but far to easy. Sephiroth also didn't bring much to the table as a villain, just like Cloud didn't bring much as a hero.

8, it was ok... I could never bring myself to completely beating it, but it was indeed very easy. I don't like the draw system, that was its biggest draw back.

9, great game loved it probably 2nd best. Kuja was a cool boss, although I hated the end.

10... This is a hard one for me, I didn't really see it as a FF game at all, it was too... I dunno... long and boring and the sphere grid system was annoying and stupid considering that no character had anything special if you chose it.

11, why doesn't anyone really mention this one? II mean, I doubt its anyones favorite, but even though it is a MMORPG it has a story, it has cut scenes, it is actually thrilling to play and the boss battles are awesome (when you do it with people your level). This game is the most underrated Final Fantasy no matter what you really want to think. I just beat the original boss, oh I dunno, a week ago maybe? Now, that was an awesome fight, the music was great, and it was exiciting. Still, because of all the irritation/grinding/people you hate, it loses a load of points. If anyone asks, I'll break down the story of what I know so far. (Just started Rise of Zilart (1st expansion) and about to do Chains of Promathia (2nd expansion))

Dracoon: Well, if you don't wanna buy magic in FFV, you could just rely on Blue Magic and Summons... that could be an interesting challenge, going without Black, Time, and White. Just remember, no Haste for you...

beneficii: Ah, I wasn't sure about FFL and MQ. Thanks for clearing that up. Oh, and if you couldn't guess, my talk of warning you was just a joke.

Or, in FFV you could just get a lot of GP and $toss your way through the entire game.

Meh.

Dracoon: I liked what you said about FFVII, even if it was one sentence. That game truly was just way too easy, I remember being in the high 50's when I finished the first disc (my levels). And you can easily beat Jenova and Sephiroth by simply attacking, seriously.

The only challenge in that game was beating Emerald Weapon (was that the underwater one?) without having KOTR and not using the Mime Trick with Onmislash.

Oh, I still buy magic, I'm just saying that it isn't a very good idea for a magic system. You shouldn't be able to buy magic, you should have to get it while leveling or through really hard quests or something. It can make the game to easy because you can spam really powerful spells. This is one reason I like 4, you can't just get really powerful magic out of no where (Tellah doesn't count because he has like... no MP).

Well, the powerful magic (Flare, Meteo, Holy) can't be bought. The Elemental3s and Cure3 are the only really strong ones that can be bought. The *2s aren't that strong...

But the Sorcerer/Mystic Knight (blasted translations) was a little too strong...

I knew it was a joke and that a responsible mod wouldn't move against me because of that. It's just that in that, you convinced me that Tactics/Tactics Advance should be added.

Dracoon,

Neither does FuSoYa.

FuSoYa does have enough MP to cast Meteo, as well as pull off more than one Flare. Still has less MP than Cecil, but he can still pull out a few spells.

I'd have to say, though, that the hardest game was FF3j. Damn Mini caves!

Wasn't it Tellah who couldn't use Meteo and died while casting it?

Or whoever the old man was in FFV.

Final Fantasy VII, the first FF game that I ever played and got me to like the other FF games. I played it around the time it came out when I was 8 and the all I did was battling and minigames, I didn't understand the story until I was older.

I have a rather limited selection to pick from, as I've played but not beaten all of the NES and SNES versions, played Final Fantasy 7 PC and beaten it, and watched someone play Final Fantasy 8 I've also looked at Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Crystal Chronicles, and Dawn of Souls, but I haven't played any of them enough to really have to choose from them as well.

Anyways, my obvious choice would be Final Fantasy 7. I still haven't completely done it yet (I haven't even touched the chocobo raising stuff yet, and the only weapons I've beaten were part of the storyline, among other things).

The only thing I didn't like about it was that the music would periodically stop, but continue playing the last note, and the only way to fix it would be to quit the game, open the configuration program, click the "Test" button on the "Midi" page, then go back to playing. Aside from that, it was quite fun to play, and the storyline was pretty interesting

One other reason I liked it as much as I did, would be that all through the time before I got to play it, I kept reading how good it was, and such, so it was nice to finally get a go at it
