Let me get this out of the way right off the bat: This is not my first RP at a forum, so fear not! I've been in countless RPs over the course of about 4 years now, so I have much experience.

With that said, I'll now explain the rules.

Basically, this is a gigantic race to the finish game, the prize being the treasure, as mentioned in the title. You are allowed to team up into infinitely large groups, and there will at least be three groups racing - I'll see to that. You can also go solo, if you see a greater advantage like that. However, I uh, predict more adventure and success for you if you side with one of my three groups . Bring in as many characters as you want, too - this RP will be all the better with more competition!
The race will take place on one island, which is full of all of those basic clich

OFF: Since no one is replying... I guess I'll reply! If this RP is just gonna have Jackson and Phantron... then so be it.

Won't let a promising RP die like that after all.

____________________________________________________________________

The golden demon... it was how people called this monster of metal that burned down every house she ran into, slaughtered any man, woman, or child she found, killed, destroyed, burned every village that stood in her path.

This thing was a disaster, a cataclysm, a plague sealed within a golden armor and waiting to happen.

Wandering near the edges of the island, the golden demon found her next victims... a peaceful village that had lived there for a long time. A village filled with peace-loving innocents that had never done anything to deserve the fate the infamous mechanical destroyer had in mind for them...

Jumping into the center of the village, the golden armored villain sets ablaze the whole town and quickly slaughter all the people she sees. Controlling the winds with her powers, the demon scatter the fire strategically, trapping the surviving villagers in a perimeter and then, walking trought the flames as if they didn't existed to her, she kills the villagers one by one, using her laser breath and let the flames finish off those that escapes.

Thus, the mechanical monster has once again put an end to the existance of yet another peaceful village, destroying all of it's monuments, killing entire families, ending the history of the region.

Just a few tiny cries for help escaped the boundaries of the village...

...

Phantron walked out of the burning village...

Phantron: "Analysis indicate that the people in this village had indeed met with some of the pirates I have been hunting for a long time... they must have gone there to obtain supplies. Still... my hunt must now continue on for the pirates are still on the run and they must have, according to my analysis, they must have entered at least 5 more villages... and for my Soul Resonance ability to remain unused... they must all be burned down..."

Phantron just realised she had tought aloud.

Phantron: "I will have to fix my speech program soon... my toughts are automatically repeated by my voice synthetiser... err... my internal dictionnary is even damaged. Maybe I should have spared the library for a few seconds in order to update my memory files... and maybe I should have obtained a few tools there... bah! The next village, which I will burn down too, will have those... and I should arrive there in about 6 hours according to my calculations..."

Phantron resumed her journey to eradicate the Basilisk air pirates and all those that ran into them and lived...

FF-FINALLY!!! A REPLY! *explodes*
Ehem. Hopefully, once the story picks up speed, people will join. I'll get all of my characters introduced now, to make things a bit easier.
-----

Jackson: FORTY MEN, ROLAND AMONG THEM?!

High in the air over the wastelands near the mine, inside one of the many rooms of the Basilisk airship, Jackson pounded his mechanical fist on a tabletop, across which stood the pirate who had just told Jackson the casualties they had suffered in the mine. Forty well-trained pirates, and Jackson's first mate, fallen at the hands of a single foe?

Jackson: How could this happen?
???: It gets worse, sir.

Skeeves, a squat man who now replaced Roland in rank, had walked into the room.

Jackson: ...Continue.
Skeeves: Ehm, it seems that we are possibly being pursued by this Phantron. When we left, an object was sighted, following us from the mine. It was only there for a minute, before it broke off and headed southwest.
Jackson: Following us? This is worse than I thought.
Skeeves: ...
Jackson: All right, I want all men to keep vigilant. If anything suspicious is sighted, I am to be made aware immediately. For now, we will try to remain unnoticed. Return to your posts.

Jackson walked out of the room, followed by a few other pirates. A minute later, as a jungle approached on the distant horizon to the airship, it disappeared entirely under a cloaking device.

-----

Off, far away from this remote island, across a sea and many more lands, a moderately familiar figure noticed a strange light in the sky as he limped away from a grueling battle at the Sim Battle Arena. It was Kyle, the young gravity mage, born with the inexplicable ability to manipulate gravity's effects to suit his will. Normally he stood up straight, dressed in a stunningly clean white karate robe with smug determination, but his last fight in the tournament had gotten the better of him. Not only had he nearly been owned by his latest opponent, but he had also been assaulted during the fight by some unknown assailant...though he suspected he knew who it was. A few months back he had encountered a mysterious undead figured, Ghost, who had attempted to take his soul, and since his narrow escape he had been plagued with suspicious misfortunes like the one this night. All in all, the drama had a terrible toll on his back, and he was left limping away from the arena, wishing that a healing potion could do more to null his cramp, when he spotted a strange green light in the sky.

Kyle: Wtf-? I must have taken a harder beating than I thought. Now I'm seeing strange lights! Ugh, I need some sleep.

He proceeded down the dim windowed hall, headed toward the exit, but still the green light shone through the glass. He turned the corner, went down some stairs, and found himself in a courtyard. Here, the sky was clearly visible...and the beacon as well.

Kyle: ???...So, I'm not imagining this, then.

Kyle stared at the mystifying light for a few more minutes. His curiosity now nagged at him incessantly. Clearly, he would get little sleep this night.

Kyle: Gah! I've got to see what that darn thing is!

After quickly noting the relative direction of the light beacon, he magically opened a wormhole - his newest trick - and stepped through the portal. A moment later, he arrived in the wastelands, not too far from the mine.

-----

Close to where the mage previously stood, in fact in the very same building, were three reptilian figures - Spaky, Spiky, and Speeky. They each slightly resembled a yoshi in their body structure, but their heads were shaped more like that of a T-rex. They were small, too - the tallest, Speeky, was only four feet tall. Speeky was the first of the brothers to notice the signal, as they departed the kitchen of the SBA after an embarrassing ordeal.

Speeky: Say, what do you think that thing is?

He pointed out the window to the beam of light, which had still another two minutes to live. The youngest, shortest, and red colored lizard, Spaky, responded.

Spaky: I dunno...but I think the last time I saw one of those, it was because someone was in trouble.

Spiky, the middle-sized lizard named for his tail that was covered in sharp, bony spikes, spoke last.

Spiky: You don't think anyone's in trouble now, do you?
Spaky: Maybe. We should check it out, though!
Speeky: Yes, we certainly should inspect this light, as we

ooc: OK, you'd said you wanted more characters, so...

That night, Snipes had been sitting on his front porch, relaxing and enjoying a rare night to himself. Looking up at the sound of a buzz, he saw the beam of light.

"Oh, no. What is it going to be this time?!"

Irked, Snipes got ujp and walked inside, where he grabbed his weapons and a few med-packs for if he needed them. Snipes didn't use them much, but had a feeling abou this time. Activating his repulsors, Snipes jetted off towards the beam, even as it was fading out of site, as Snipeshad logged the co-ordinates into his computerized subconcious.

"And it had to be on a clear night. perrrrrrrfecttttttttt."

As Snipes got closer to the Island, the sky clouded over, and lightning began to crackle in the distance. Just before he could land at the island, suddenly Snipes was hit by a bolt of lightning. Losing his concentration, Snipes barreled downwards towards a small set of islands a few hundred yards away from the main island where the beam had originated. upon hitting the ground, Snipes lost conciousness.

EDIT: WTF? Zerodius' post and my edit were erased just a few seconds ago. Odd...

OFF: Guess I'll reply...

Snipes is going to get a "nice" surprise...

____________________________________________________________________

Another village, another slaughter... Phantron was on fire! It was already her second village today!... or maybe these were two parts of the same village?

Anyway, as she continued her pursuit, the trails became harder and harder to follow... and then, she finally began to assume that maybe, MAYBE they had suspected that she was following them and had activated some kind of cloaking device and begun to place decoys.

As such, Phantron decided to suspend her pursuit and acquire some new powers to make her pursuit easier. After all... her Soul Resonance ability could be used by her. It just had to remain only hers and hers alone... so what wrong was there in using it on other people and then killing them afterward?

So, Phantron flied off the main island and she hadn't gone too far that a strange light attracted her attention...

Something had been struck by a lightning bolt... and according to the heat signatures, it was a living being... maybe a potential victim?

Phantron flied down to the small island where the thing had crash-landed...

...

THUMP! THUMP!

The gigantic golden armless monster stopped in front of Snipes.

She scanned him to see if he was still alive... and altought he had been knocked unconscious, he was still alive.

Phantron had been tempted to crush the fool's head beneath her right foot... but she had obtained a few strange readings that had convainced her not to do that... within the being's body were mechanical implants...

So... he IS a potential target for the Soul Resonance!... but for it to be performed properly, she must develop some kind of emotional link with the target and for that to happen, the target must be alive.

Looks like she will let the being live after all... and looks like she'll have to gain the being's trust. Should be easy. The beings of this being seems gullible to her. In the last village she burnt down, a young mother had begged to spare her baby. Phantron had fooled the mother into separating herself from her baby. She had promised the mother that the baby would be spared... and once the mother had got away from the baby, Phantron quickly crushed the baby's head beneath her several tons-heavy left leg. Annoyed by the mother's screams and cries, she knocked her down with a swift kick and then, for some reason, an impulse appeared in her mind. Unstead of quickly crushing her pain trought a swift stomp or machine gun fire, she used the spike at the end of her right foot to slowly drill trought the screaming human, splattering herself and everything around with blood... it was a very slow and since she had a nervous breakdown before death, it must have been painful. For some reason... seeing this innocent mother suffer gave her great pleasure...

She would take great pleasure into earning this fool's trust and then into killing him in a slow and horrific way once he will have outlived his usefulness...

Yes... most definitely... and using those abilities and the informations gained, he would continuet the pursuit of the Basilisk air pirates and then finish them off... to the last! None of them would escape, ever!

ooc: Ooh, nasty! Ther's just one thing you made a mistake on- Snipes is a reploid, and has no organic parts. Completely mechanical.

Snipes woke to a heavy thumping in his head.

'Oi. What did I do to myself this time?'

Propping himself up onto his arms, all Snipes could see was phantron, but of course he didn't know that.

"Okay, So who are you?"

Snipes was met with a feeling of untrustworthyness (nice! new word.) from the creature, but since he couldn't remember a thing right then and there, Snipes figured he might as well ask the creature.

"Why are you here? All I can remember is- oh man. That lightning bolt did a number on my circuits."

Almost immediately, Snipes fainted again, the electric shock from the lightning still ravaging his body.

Phantron continued her analysis as the creature fainted... and then, she finally noticed that the creature was actually a robot. What she had confused for organic parts were actually circuits!... she hadn't espected robots to be advanced enough to be equipped with liquid circuits like biological beings.

Phantron began to slowly walk around the robot, continuing the analysis.

Phantron *thinks* Hmm... OH! What is that? Gender polarity is inverted compared to mine... heh... err... I STILL didn't supressed that within me? I'm surpised... but nevertheless, I can use that to my advantage. All I will have to do is split my personality trought the creation of a dual memory image in an unused part of my CPU. Should be very easy...

Phantron made a few steps backward and then closed her eyes as she proceeded to reprogram herself...

Phantron sealed her true, maniacal, pure evil self into an unused part of her CPU and then made a duplicate of her personality that would remove itself once Soul Resonance was achieved. The new personality was similar to her true one... but without the "maniacal" part.

Of course, the personality was programmed to exchange place with her real one in cases of emergency. She didn't trusted that a nicer version of herself would be able to make the right decisions in a life/death situation.

With the reprogram sequence finished, Phantron fell into a state of deep sleep and her duplicate awakened...

...

Phantron approached Snipes and then scanned him again, trying to locate the damaged parts.

Once this was done, Phantron did something to her left leg which caused it to open. Phantron then deconnected one of the wires with her mouth and located the damaged parts in Snipes' body.

She inserted the severed wire into the damaged part and Phantron's blood began to flow into the melted metal componements.

The blood, made of a strange red liquid alloy built with an incredibly advanced nano-technology, instantly adapted to it's new host and began to repair Snipes' damaged body.

Once Snipes' body integrity was returned to at least 85%, Phantron completely cut off the wire and closed her leg before more of her blood can flow out.

Phantron made a few steps backward... obviously, the operation had been painful and had weakened her a bit... but her nicer self tought it was worth it... altought she felt a feeling of frustration and disgust for a reason she couldn't grasp.

But this was just a little bit of her blood... it would regenerate quickly. What was the harm?... and the pain is minor compared to the feeling of helping a fellow robot, right? Something in her was not agreeing with that...

After a few seconds, Phantron recovered from the operation and approached Snipes.

She kicked him... but it was not a hard kick at all. In fact, it wouldn't even hurt. She was just doing that to awaken him.

Phantron: "Hey! Are you alright? Wake up!"

Kyle tumbled dizzily over the flat ground, after he was shot out of his portal. It was his first attempt at warping, but he would get better at it. The mage stood up straight and took a look at his surroundings.

It was nothing but rock and dirt for miles. However, he saw a shape in the distance, silhouetted against the dark blue sky...the sun would rise pretty soon, and would reveal what it was. Still, he hadn't warped for nothing...he wasn

Groaning, Snipes tried to prop himself up, but damage to his primary generator had lowered the output, and most of the power left was running his memory banks and repair systems. Because of this, Snipes was essentially brain-dead temporarily, completely oblivious to everything that went on around him. However, his backup reactors were online, and automated systems had transferred power to his main CPU. Opening his eyes, Snipes shook the cloudiness from his head, and looked around.

"Ugh. That was not a pleasant crash."

Completely forgetting about his earlier request about phantron, Snipes asked gain.

"Who are you? Were you the one who helped me?"

Cyberaptor observed Kyle's movements, and saw him walk into the mine. A while later, he heard the explosion of the nuclear egg. Suspicious activity was taking place, and it was Cyberaptor's job to monitor it. Cyberaptor activated his jetpack, flew to the top of the mesa, and then landed next to the hole to spy down. The human and the bird were arguing, but appeared to be all right...

The antenna that was stationed on Cyberaptor's back folded out suddenly, and pointed off in the distance. Confused, Cyberaptor looked in that direction, but saw nothing. The raptor tapped his claw against his metal helmet, activating his long-distance visor, and peered off further. He saw two machines, one bizarre gold one standing over another one, which appeared to be damaged.

Cyberaptor: Do you think that they are connected to the two below us, Computer?
Computer: It is odd that a desolate place like this is so active. It is possible that they were drawn to the signal, as well.
Cyberaptor: We should wait here and see if they approach. I don't want to leave this spot, as the human and bird are up to something.
Computer: Certainly.

Down below Cyberaptor, Kyle and Blue continued looking around the rubble for anything that might fit into the statue.

Off several miles from the coast of the island, the Lizard Bros. Spaky, Spiky, and Speeky were still flying toward the island...

Full Iron armor was not exactlythe best thing for walking through the jungle on this God forsaken Island. Atleast it was morning, a morning to a strange night, but morning wouldn't help him quiet his armor as he followed this suspicious character through the woods.

Following the obvious mage Vincent wondered if he could complete all his spells with such skill as he could teleport. He had simply appeared out of nowhere and thrown himself a good twent or thirty feet.

Crouching behind a tree Vincent watched as the unknown warrior began to make his way into the mine. Walking to the entrance of the cave he suddenly became aware of something behind him. Looking around he saw nothing. But when he closed his eyes he could hear footfalls to one side of the cave. It had a heavy metallic sound like a...

...Suddenly he was on his back. It hadn't attacked him...looking to his side he noticed an oversized boulder that the unknowing mage had apparently thrown backward out of the cave and knocked him un-conscious. Clumsy little...Suddenly there was an explosion from inside the cave and whatever had been standing nearby took off over the top of the opening. He had forgotten it was there.

Walking into the cave he looked around...dead bodies everywhere. Apparently the mage hadn't noticed them. Walking along he realized he remembered the mage from somewhere...yep...he was the one who had fought a Sith Lord. Vincent was close friends and had watched the battle unfold silently. He wondered what the Gravity Mage had gotten himself into this time. Whatever it was Vincent was in it now, and he would find the answers.

Walking down the tunnel he stopped just short of where...Kyle, that was it...was with some other blue creature. Remaining in the shadows he chose to wait and watch.

Phantron smiled sweetly. She regretted she didn't have arms for she would have helped the reploid to get up.

Phantron: "Yes, I'm the one who helped you. I am Phantron. I am on a journey to seal a terrible power that threaten this world. I was on this island, on my way, when I saw you crash there. Can you walk?"

Kyle crossed his arms and floated in the air in a sitting position, as if there was an invisible chair beneath him.

Kyle: I don't know why I bothered listening to you. What leads you to believe that this item that fits into the statue is still here? Or even exists at all, for that matter?

Blue paced around the room, randomly choosing a pile of rocks to dig through now and then.

Blue: Well, it's just this feeling...like you know when you wake up in the morning, thinking it's a Friday, but it's actually just a stinking Tuesday?
Kyle: Er...yeah? But what's that got to do with it?
Blue: Nothing, I was just wondering if you felt that way too sometimes.
Kyle: Oh.

Kyle suddenly looked up from Blue and turned around, toward the entrance to the chamber. He thought that he felt someone's presence...but he wasn't sure...he looked up, too, sensing someone above him, now that he was thinking about it. Kyle tried to concentrate, but Blue was making too much noise, digging through rocks and rambling about pointless things. Vincent and Cyberaptor went unnoticed.

Vincent wasn't sure whether he had really gone unnoticed or if it was just some trick. He knew that Kyle would go to all types of pains to lay out traps that often failed. Like when he hit himself in the back of the head with a fireball then pretended to be dazed...only to have that round end before he could make real use of it.

OOC: I know it's really part of your whole world you've set up for your character but from Vincent's point of view it seems like it was just some kind of trick.

Getting up, Snipes replied to phantron's question.

"Yes. I should be able to make it to that island too. I noticed some sort of beam come out of it earlier, so I had simply wanted to nkow what had caused it, and to find out why. If it's unimportant thern I guess I might just go home, but until than, if you're going that way, why don't we work together? At any rate, I heading over there now."

With that, Snipes activated his repulsors and jetted over to the island, although not quite as quickly as before.

EDIT: OK, i managed to fix this. Next time warn me Yiffy Kitten. Cripes.

Phantron: "Why not? Who knows? Maybe you have found a new friend, now?"

Phantron felt an impulse...

Phantron *thinks* Maybe you found your doom too... huh? Why did I tought that? Why would he had found his doom? Must be a crazy tought or something like that...

ooc: I'll fix this post in a sec once I've made it.

Smiling, Snipes thiught to himself

'I hope so too.'

Although, something had been... nagging at the back of his mind. He couldn't place it, but the name "phantron" sturck a chord. Snipes couldn't place it, it seemed to be a memory farther back then when he had been reactivated by the gang he had used to work for. Something about "phantron was responsible...? Snipes pushed the memory aside and decided to ask about it later. Nearing the island, Snipes set down a few meters from the mine entrance. Looking around, Snipes could see no-one.

"okay, we're at the place the beam came from, or at least at the entrance to it. any Ideas?"

Phantron: "We have... arrived..."

Slowly, Phantron's real self awakened...

When she turned to face Snipes, there was a definite "evil" look in her face... all kindness was gone... only the thirst for blood was left.

Phantron: "Wait here. Under NO circumstance must you follow me. It is dangerous inside, I know it so... stay here. I will return here soon."

Phantron went inside the mines. She had just got life readings when she got in... and this triggered her killer instincts. Whatever those three beings were, she would find them and terminate them!

As such, she quickly began to run toward Kyle and Blue...

"Oh. My. God."

Spoke Snipes to himself.

'What happened to her? She seems to be someone totally different...'

Going against what phantron had said, Snipes cloaked and followed her in, maintaining a healthy distance between them. He HAD to know why she had changed so suddenly, as well as... Protect her from herself? Snipes had felt worried about her, even though he hardly knew her. Not knowing why, Snipes shook the thought from his head and kept his eyes on Phantron.

Phantron slowed down in the middle of an intersection... she felt as if someone was following her...

But then, Phantron trusted Snipes wouldn't follow her and thus, she activated her thrusters and flied trought the dark corridors, toward her targets...
