I've finished my ???? year(s) long hack at last friends. My last hack was poorly finished (Some remember it as Super Mario World - SuperStarSaga.) Anyway, I've taken most of that and rebuilt a new one, like the title of this thread calls it. I have screens to show you all. For the love of god, don't use BMP PNG and JPG are the only picture formats anyone should ever use (Well, GIF if you want animation, but then PNG does animation too, it's just ill-supported). And JPG is no good for screenshots of stuff like this. So obviously, you should use PNG. |

USE PNGS!!! I didn't even realise these were BMPs until Kyouji mentioned it.... PNGs are your friend. Just change the save format it ZSNES. First Screen: That pipe is fuckin nice. It looks like SMB1 but better. The grass bush green needs to be changed. Everything else looks great. Second Screen: Looks really, really great. Keep up the good work. Third Screen: Looks good. It's nice to see different palettes for those boxes other than the regular orange, blue, green etc. The SMB3 plant things with the spots look bad. Mmake the palettes darker. Fourth Screen: Once again, everything looks great. The bushes look kinda odd because they are stopped by those blocks. But it still looks okay. I like the mist in the BG. How is it transparent? I remember the mist being solid white...Good job. Fifth Screen: The mini-castle is awesome. I like that, but the rest kinda sucks. The overworld is nice, but there are levels that are cut in half (I am going to assume this is the main overworld...but it looks like a submap to me), and bowsers castle thing in the top left looks bad. Also, dont stack the castles tiles . Looks bad. If you need a tall castle, use your own graphics. Way to many windows. Also the left tile on the top most castle is the wrong one. Do you see what Im talking about? And you forgot a space in the level name. Sixth Screen: Nice grass. The paths are really thick and dont look very good. 2 Yoshi's houses? And bowsers place (the map his world is on) is usually darker. So maby darken up that palette, or make it brownish. Your hack looks very nice. 1st shot: Looks okay. Nothing I can really comment on in this screen. Are the green flames animated? 2nd shot: Fix the fire flower palette. Way to mush yellow in the level. But its a sand storm, so I suspose thats okay. Maby make some layer 1 clouds for the background would be a good idea. 3rd shot: Weird green circle on the left bottom of the screen. Blue clouds. Water in sky world?? Not a good idea. The water fall right under mario looks out of place. Move it 1 tile to the left. Tthe door above that tall guys head looks odd, so does the bridge. The perspectives aren't right for what you are trying to do. What is the stuff on the ground below mario? Sand pit? 4th shot: I will edit my post with what you typed in symbols when I get home from school... Good job, I hope to see more shots or a demo sometime soon. Keep it up. EDIT: I put the alphabet and standard keyboard symbols into Wordpad, and changed the font to "symbol". Then I looked for the letters that matched what you had wrote on picture number 4. Why not just use Geocities? Sure, it doesn't allow hotlinking, but just make a little page with a link to the file, then link to that. I'm fairly sure that Geocities would allow a 1.2 meg file. If not, Winrar can probably get it under a meg. The only problem I can think of would be bandwidth, since I really have no idea how much Geocities allows you. Hope that helps. |

Maby it's just me, but this entire hack is glitched. I can load up the game and see the Lunar Magic Presents screen. Then see an entirly glitched, groundless intro level. If I press start, I can go to start a new game, but as soon as the screen goes black, it stays black. In other words, I can't load this game up because it locks up. I have patched it to 3 different sized ROMS (512kb, 1mb, and 6mb). None work. Does this game work for anyone else? |

It's glitched for me too. The blank ROM must be modified in some way. Open the blank ROM in Zsnes and look at the text in the bottom right corner. If it says "CRC32:B19ED489", then the ROM is a real, unmodified SMW ROM. | |||
