It means that you just have to change 1A0C0009003573500035ED10 at 49DFD4 to 1A0C00090031E1D000326E40 to have LLL textures in WF

Or...

Change 1A0C00090031E1D000326E40 at 48D03C to 1A0C0009003573500035ED10 to have WF textures in LLL.

I hope it makes more sense

Edit:
Sukasa, I don't have anything that comes to mind as to a pointer that would be useful to be found in RAM I'm not saying it couldn't be useful, but really for what I'm working on right now at this moment, I can't think of anything...

Well, I got (WP? do you mean WF, Whomps Fortress?) Texture to load LLL's, although, I couldn't get vice versa. I'll post some screenies in a second.

Doh!

Well of course I meant Whomp's Phorteress

I also got the LLL textures in WF to work, but I didn't try the reverse.

I have a request fr\or anyone with the time for it- While all the other backgrounds have been ripped, why hasn't the BG from wet-dry world been pulled out of the ROM?

And here is the "public domain" Wet Dry World texture BG.

How is that so awesome? And hey RT-55J don't know if you saw this but at my First thread, the "If a Mario 64 Editor came out you would.." thread, but I'm working on a Super Luigi 64.

I'd use it to make a hack called "Super Mario Moonshine" "Luigi 64".

Well, since this is already bumped, I might as well say, Im working on Luigi 64.
/thread.php?id=15759

Anyways, I'm gonna try to get the Whomp's Fortress Textures in Lethal Lava Land.

What would be awesome (I think) would be to take the textures from the ghost house and put them all over the main castle. Make it looked haunted. And take the BG from the ghost house and make it the BG for the outside of the castle. Maby use Lethal Lava texture for the outside of the castle.

A mini java/flash based thing like VL-Tone has for the 360 views that can apply any texture to any level would be fun to use.

Read This

Now I have a few questions for everyone:

Have all the backgrounds been extracted?
And is that awesome ass flower the only beta object that has been found?
What is the most exciting thing found so far?

I think the flower is the best thing found. I think that's all the backgrounds. You'd have to ask VL-Tone, he's the one that ripped it.

There's also a yoshi egg that VL-Tone found.

That's on Page 20.

Who found? That's been in my image list for a while now.

What's this I keep hearing about RAM banks though? N64 doesn't have banks. Also why do the textures look so much better in raw form than in the game?

Which texture are you talking about? If you mean the backgrounds, it's probably because it's streched in the game. If you're talking about the flower and/or the yoshi egg, HOW DID YOU FIND IT IN THE GAME?

I never mentioned banks... I dunno why the textures are different, maybe they're streched or something to make them a little blurry, since reallt sharp textures don't always look very good.

I mean the backgrounds. It probably is just the stretching, but they look so much different...

Hey VL-Tone thanks for posting the animations of the beta flower and Yoshi egg, there is definitely no mistaking it for a 1-up mushroom. My friend will be pumped to see them and i expect a little frustrated that he didn't find them himself when he was looking 6 years ago

stag019: i checked out the texures myself using the viewer you posted, but was unable to find a suitible decompiler to see them in their proper colours. Hopefully you use the Yoshi egg and/or flower in your Super Luigi 64 hack.

I remember there being a "clone mario" code in the past that seemed to work in the way you described you could clone as many marios as you wanted until the game slowed down to a crawl. I dunno if it was just for the PAL version or if my friend found it and didn't release it, as i said it has been 6 years since i hacked AR/GS codes, but i'll check up into it.

1. How?
2. Why? This is suposed to be a Luigi hack.
Well, SM64 is one of my favorite games, but this hack is based on Luigi, not levels
(or in this case Flower/Yoshi Egg).
Of course that doesn't mean I won't do other SM64 hacks with level changes. I've already been working on some levels for some other hack (Gommba Battlefield, no level difference form Bob-omb Battlefield, but there will be a buncha goombas.
Or, again, in this case, the flower/egg.

this is my first post on this forum, and I am new to ROM hacking and emulation, so I hope I don't come across as particularly newbish. my question is: at the end of the data, why are there all those FF's? at bytes 7CC6BC throught the end. and I don't really understand decompression. is it nessesary?

EDIT: I have a big problem with HyperHacker's editor. all the objects are scattered around outside the level, and I can't select them. is it because I have normal byte order? I thought it supported normal byte order?

Welcome to the boards. Don't forget, if you want to you can post at the Newbie Forum.
The FF's at the end are free space, I'm not sure if there's a use for them. Decompression is nessesary if you want to edit anything that's compressed.
1. It's VL-Tone's editor.
2. It only supports reverse byte-order for now.
3. Clicking on them doesn't always select them. This was copied from the readme.

Alternatively, to select objects:

You can also cycle through all objects by using the spacebar or right arrow key.
The left arrow key is used to cycle back.
To select objects you can also click on the little selection bar below the level name.
