About january I started making a super metroid hack and I was pretty satisfied of what I was doing with it however I had put this joker on hold for while and I had to really concentrate on college plus I've been in extremely bad mood about alot of stuff..... but screw that for now and here is 4 questions that I really need answered

1. I would Like to change the title screen to something different, nothing horrible looking.... in YY-CHr how would I go about doing this I know YY-CHr has option to replace normal graphics with yours but I don't want to do this and have a screwed up rom afterwords how would I go about doing this ?

2. I am using smile 0.40 I would like to change crateria's color and other zone's to something different can someone please tell me how change the palette of the tiles ? part II how do I add in different graphics layers from zebes without screwing that 1 whole area up ? right before samus gets the morph ball or the bombs ?

3.In zebes there is a chozo statue holding a item for samus to grab, say like high jump boots or speed booster, but though I want a chozo god right there blocking the items..... for example, let's say you need the spazer beam in order to increase samus power but there is that chozo god blocking the way to the item how would I go about doing this without the game locking up ? also each time samus meets the chozo god I want it to be ten times harder and worser than the last meeting how would I do this without having to replace the chozo god each time I put him in a new area and I have reset his DNA ? or having the game reset each time ?

4. How do I mask blocks or items with a tile using smile ?

5. Need a name for my hack how 's this: Metroid 3: Chozo's Gods secret ?

I'm no SMILE expert, but -- forgive the harshness -- that title sounds awful! "Secret of the Chozo Gods" sounds trite... how about "Divine Chozo" or "Chozo Deities"?

A lot of what you want to do isn't currently possible in SMILE (except maybe the Chorizo thing... I'll have to test it). It's not impossible though, but it'll require a lot of work. I can help, but only if you're more specific on what exactly you want done for #s 2, 3, and 4.

And even so, prepare for a long explanation :/

Question #2 How do I change the Tile graphics palette color in smile example crateria color is navy blue, I want to change it to brown how would I do this ? also (how do I change the graphics from crateria brinstar without corrupting the original tile set in that area ?)

Question #3 how can I have the chozo god in a room protecting a item instead of the original chozo statue holding it for samus to grab and leave without a battle plus having the game lockup ? I hope I explain that better......

Question #4 How do I (mask) items using tiles from an area ? example: missle hiding an a block or powerbomb hidden in a ceiling without player seeing it directly I want them to find it on their own.

#3 Look at the DNA settings for the gold one. It could be possible to have more enemies. There are plenty of unused sprites within the game (space pirates specifically), there could quite possibly be more versions of the Chozo gods (they're not called that, but the specific name doesn't come to mind at the time). If those options don't exist, check for blank space or enemy data you could overwrite and add more Chozos (talk to jman about that).

#4 is easily possible. Take a PLM (missile, etc.) not the graphics of one, and place it where you want it to appear. Then change the PLM type to be hidden behind a block. It should look like a grey brick with the item showing in the PLM selection.

Jathys might have a help file available soon. I didn't realize it was so outdated it didn't explain PLMs. (then again, maybe I should find my "basic" help guide and upload it)
