Can this level be modified safely? Is it even a regular "level", I know level 0 looks like it but I think thats just where the game takes you if you mess up an exit or path or something, a "default" level. Also level 100. Anyways, I just want to know if I can change that Bonus Level so that you have to work for those extra one ups (jumping holes dodging goombas...) If I can modify that level how would I end it? With a regular end level tape thing? Thanks

Level 100 and Level 0 are both goaltape end levels. I can't remember how they are chosen, but I think if you are on the Main overworld, it picks level 100, and in a submap it picks level 0. I think.

Anyway, there are 2 ways that you can edit these levels:

1. If you want to keep the spinning blocks that get you 1-ups, the level has to only be 1 screen wide. Anymore than that, and the sprite replicates it self in the center of every screen and looks bad.

2. You can make the level as long as you want, but dont include the spinning 1-up block thing. Also, don't end the level with a tape or block or what ever. Make it end by side screen exit. That way if a player doesn't want to go thru the level all the time, they can quickly exit it.

If you dislike the normal bonus game, you can change it. There's some rules that you must follow, though.

1) The entire bonus level must be in the same level. Otherwise, the bonus game will restart.

If you're not using the normal bonus game sprite, then you have to follow these rules too:

2) The level must be vertical
3) It must end with a goal point sphere

I suggest that level 0 and 100 are identical copies of each other, by the way.

Edit: Damn! Keikonium beat me to it!

If your not using the spinning blocks sprite? I can make a horizontal level that ends with side screen exit and the level and all that stuff works perfectly fine for me. Also, the level can be more than one screen. Provided I don't use the goal tape, or spinning blocks sprite, everything works fine for me.

I've tried to edit the bonus games before. Another thing to watch out for is screen exits...don't put any because they won't work.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I took out the bonus blocks, added the side exit sprite, added a few palm trees, some throw pillows....it looks great and works perfectly. I havent tried getting 100 bonus stars in a submap, but Im confident it should work perfect too. No bonus lives for my game, ha! Check out my site to see my progress.
