I'd like to add a request to go with the Magikoopa one:
Instead of just one Magikoopa, a whole team of Magikoopas fighting against a Zeus Guy, a Banzai Bill, and 2 Fuzzies from SMW2 in a huge temple. For items, a Fire Flower for the Magikoopas and 3 veggies (SMB2) for the other team.

Oh, I forgot to add my idea for a battle.

Since the battle includes SMW now, how about Pokey, Twomp, and the SMW2 Snifit vs. Wiggler, Mega Mole, and a Shy Guy. Location? How about Pipe Lair like 7-3 in SMB3. Items? Stop Watch for Snifit team and a turtle shell that goes up in smoke when it hits something (SMB2 shell) for the Shy Guy team.

Eh, I figured I'd throw that out there.

I think I'll keep my bet with the Serpant team despite the odds against them. The idiot Cobrat could win it for them.

This is my first time betting coins. I guess I'll go ahead and bet 10 coins on Monkey Business.

Ah, rats. Good fight, though! I say... 20 coins on Monkey Business and my vote.

It would be cool to see a battle in a volcano involving a Barney Bubble and a Shark Chomp. Mwehehe...

ARGH!!
Three losses in a row!
Ah well...Such is life, I guess.

15 coins and my vote on Sphere Serpent.
As much as Monkey Business looks like it has an advantage, I think the neutral Lakitu might play an integral part in how this battle goes down.

Two additional notes:
1. A question, really...can the Lakitu be knocked out by projectiles/bob-omb blasts? I assume it could, but I would like this point clarified.
2. My suggestion for a battle...Hmmm......
Why not have a three-way battle (where there would be, say, a red team, a blue team, and a yellow team)? I think it would be even more interesting than a battle with neutral characters.
I don't have any requests for additional characters, though.

I dont want three way battles. Right now the point is that no matter what you take it's
fifty-fifty three way battles would ruin the point.

If it's a three way battle, it will be 33,3...-33,3...-33,3...
If it's a four way battle, it will be 25-25-25-25
Can we do some handicap game? (two teams vs. one, three vs. one...)

If there is one thing I've learned from 3-way battles is that they are not fair. One team hits another and incites its wrath while team 3 takes pot shots on the other two. (I'm usually #3 )

I thought of another good fighter: a Mace Guy.

Edit: Here is my Hamma Resistance Force wallpaper. Maybe I'll do Last of the Koopas soon.

Hello, all! Hey, I feel really stupid for not being able to check on the bets, and yesterday was the deadline... I can assure you I had a good reason. Guess where I was? College! That's right, I went to College! It was only for 12 days, though, but I was VERY busy. I just finished writing the battle 5 minutes ago, and 1 minute ago I checked the bets.

I am sorry to say I do not have Battle #08 ready. That is because I want to read your requests and come up with a battle based on those. So, as soon as I post this battle, I will begin with Battle #08 based on your requests. Never fear!

Also, to clarify something about the requests; It would be MUCH more helpful if you only requested an individual aspect of a fight (character, setting, items, any other monkey-in-the-wrenches) instead of doing ALL the work for me. I still intend to bring you the highest quality of Mario Battles, and to do that you'll need to leave the most difficult parts to me; putting the fights together then writing them. I can give you the highest quality battles if I only had individual data pieces to "piece together in any fashion desiriable". Besides, it makes things more interesting.

So, here goes Battle#07, and the 8th one will be coming soon. First, the Bet Results...

Sphere Serpent - 6 votes
Bets: Ice Ranger, 20C; Captain Moneybags, 30C; Neko, 20C; MarioMaster, 25C; Kamek77, 15C; Raccoon Man, 30C
Monkey Business - 7 votes
Bets: Dr. Weird, 10C; Luigi Fan, 20C; BabyBowser, 25C; Magikoopa Myster, 15C; Suzaka, 30C; High Flyin' Ryan, 10C; Peardian, 20C

Here is the Request List. Sometimes I break requests apart into a bunch of small requests, because like I said, I like to mix & match them myself... and some requests are left out entirely because they're too over the top.
1) Banzai Bill is WAY over the top. Too big and it can't stop.
2) Mario and Luigi as enemies? Naw, because they're the heroes and they always win. As Neutrals, though, they're more than perfect.
3) Ice Ranger's idea is good, but kinda too random. I like the Stopwatch idea, so I'll definitely use that, and I'll use some of the enemies he mentioned but not altogether. I try to keep each team with a theme-- this current battle doesn't really have one, but I was tired... No wonder I started taking requests!)
4) If I knew what either of those enemies were, I'd include Peardian's request. It sounds like a good idea the way he put it. Peardian, care to help me out? Also, what level does Mace Guy appear in? I need to know where to rip from if I include it.
5) NO 3-way battles. Maybe 4 way, if the circumstances are right, but yeah... you guys already said why it wouldn't work. Nice idea, though.

Request List:
- - - - - - - - - - - -
-Desert Crackers or Live Wire comes back (Captain Moneybags)
-Underwater Fight(BabyBowser)
-Mario as a neutral (Suzaka)
-Team of Magikoopas (Magikoopa Myster) (I believe I'll make each one a different color as well.)
-Temple setting (Magikoopa Myster)
-Certain SMW enemies (I'll remember the ones) and a Stopwatch (Ice Ranger)
-Mace Guy (Peardian)
-Barney Bubble vs. Shark Chomp inside Volcano (Peardian) (Need info)

And here's the fight.

"Okay... three buttons. But which one?"
"Don't ask me, pally. Yellow."
"Yellow? Okay, here goes..."

In front of three colored push-buttons stands two Bob-Ombs, one normal and one gold, and one incredibly dull-witted Cobrat. Right after the small debate over which button to push, the normal one, Pal (or Pally in his brother's case), leaps up and stomps the yellow one in the center.

Instantly the room inside Matto Castle shakes, as a door on the far north side slowly opens... and the floor starts crumbling starting from the south, revealing spikes! All 3 characters race to the door and leap through just in time. Any later and they would have been gracefully impaled.

The three characters, the ones that form the exploration team known as Sphere Serpent, now find themselves on a long, curved balcony.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"Whaddya MEAN we're trapped?"
"Oh, uh... I mean, YOU can't move, I can't dig, and Python is trapped on an island in the middle of that pool. Other than that, we're good."

There is a pause between the conversation of Monkey Business's 3 members-- well, two actually, because the Podoboo hasn't the ability to speak. Kiki (that's the monkey's name, simply Kiki) looks thoughtful.

"I have an idea. Monty, look around for any sharp, metal objects. That may get me out of these shackles, then I can fling Python out of danger and, in turn, Python can burn down that vine door."
"'kay! Here goes!"

Monty, a Monty Mole, scurries around to look for some sharp objects. He finds one-- a shovel that seems was conviently put here. He takes it, and bashes open Kiki's shackles (accurately, so it doesn't hurt him), then Kiki leaps to the island in the middle of the nearby pool, grabs Python's tail (Python being a Podoboo Firesnake) and flings him to dry land. Python immediately tackles the vine door nearby, and a path opens to a long, curved balcony.

"Shall we?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

2 minutes later, the two teams find out that they were sharing the same balcony.

"Whazzat?"
"Who?"
"Buh!!?"

"Agh! Kiki!"
"Grr..."
"...."

Yes, surprise leads to hostility. In turn...

(Pally)"Who the hell are you?"

(Kiki)"I asked you first."

(Pally)"Oh. Well, in that case, my name is P-- HEY! No you didn't!"

(Kiki)"Then I'll ask you. Who are you and why are you here?"

(Walla)"We're on an adventure to swipe the treasure of Matto Castle."

(Kiki)"Oh no you don't... Get 'im, guys!"

Monkey Business charges forward, but Dux, the big, stupid Cobrat in back, opens his mouth and fires a heavy bullet. The bullet slams into Kiki and stuns him. "Agh! Kiki!"

"Geez, you alright? ...Python, fall back!"

Monty's advice is good, as another bullet is on it's way to Python, who barely avoids it in time by falling back to the hurt Kiki.

"They're strong. What do we do?"

"Now's our chance! Attack!!"

The two Bob-Ombs charge forward and try tackling Kiki and Monty. Kiki regains his wind just in time and cartwheels to the side, countering by throwing a
spiked ball at Pally. Walla, however, slams right into Monty for decent damage... only to be tackled himself by Python. Walla turns his body and the flames
barely nick him... lighting his fuse, literally, and sealing his fate.

"Oh God! Put it ouuuuut!!"

"Walla! What happened? OOF!"

He is stopped short by Kiki's spiked ball. Meanwhile, Dux enters the fight by firing a bullet at Python, which nicks the tail. He starts to fire a barrage. A few more bullets hit Python, until he whirls his tail and launches one of his firey segments into Dux, silencing him. Python notices himself lightter than before and easier to move from now on.

Pally recovers from the spikeball, and engages Kiki, who tries throwing another spikeball at him but misses thanks to Pally's speed. Pally dives at Kiki and blows himself up, causing a (relatively small) explosion that envelops Kiki. This does good damage, and already Kiki is a little tired.

"Need another way. Wait a sec... Look up there!"

"Yeah, right! Oldest trick in the book, dope!"

"No, LOOK!!"

Kiki grabs Pally's head before he can react and faces him upwards... A Lakitu is approaching.

"What the bloody f--" the Lakitu starts, shocked at the scene, "This is-- is-- ARGH!! You intruders are messing up my Master's fortress! Prepare to be Spinied!" The invader arms a Spiny Egg and throws it right at Kiki, who leaps out of the way, along with Pally but just in time. The Spiny Egg uncurls, and the revealed Spiny charges at Kiki.

While Kiki and Pally deal with that, the Lakitu throws two more Spiny Eggs, one at Dux and one at Monty. Monty, who has been sneaking around looking for a good spot to attack Walla, is nailed on the head, then the revealed Spiny charges at Walla in some senseless battle lust. Walla crouches to decrease damage... but with a lit fuse, the collision is enough to set him off entirely. A major explosion engulfs the area, damaging EVERYone.

Kiki isn't doing so well by now, but Python is doing great. The explosion didn't hurt him very much at all. Monty is in critical condition, as he doesn't have a lot of HP to start with, nor Defense... By exploding, Walla was injured pretty good, and Pally's fuse lit thanks to the blast. Dux was injured, but because he's so stupid he barely felt any pain. Lakitu hid in his cloud to avoid damage entirely. And don't forget that there are now several small radioactive clouds floating around the area.

"Jeezus criminy, Walla! That was an A-Bomb explosion!"

"What, you didn't know? How long have we been brothers? Oh God, your fuse is lit. Try to stay away from me when you explode."

"You're a moron, Walla, you know that?"

They continue the battle. Kiki leaps at Pally, but Pally rolls forward and Kiki sails right over. He manages to throw three small bombs that he pulled out of nowhere at Pally before hitting the ground, and tumbling right into one of the radioactive clouds. The three bombs miss Pally but the blasts unnerve him, with an already lit fuse and all.

Monty grabs Python and rolls him into a wheel, then stands in the wheel and starts running like a hamster on a hamster wheel.
"Monty Python Attack!!" The wheel rolls toward Dux, and if this hits, it'll be powerful.

And now for something completely different.

Walla can't help Dux out, for if the fire hits him dead-on, there goes the battle. So he decides to do something about the Lakitu. He runs at the wall, runs right up the wall, and kicks off, flinging him at the Lakitu. The Lakitu simply arms a Spiny Egg and holds it up as a shield, and the spikes impale Walla, who sticks to the Egg like it's a cactus.

"Owwwwwweeeeeeeee!"

"Stupid move, no?"

Lakitu then throws the Bob-Omb/Spiny Egg right at Dux. Dux now has a projectile coming from above and behind, as well as a rolling wheel o' fire from the front. He wonders what to do, then moseys off to the side as the odd projectile collides with the fire wheel, and ANOTHER nuclear bomb goes off!

This explosion finishes off Monty, hurts Python a little, and brings Dux and Walla to minimal vitality. Meanwhile, Kiki tumbles out of the radiation cloud, shimmering with some kind of neon aura. In fact, Python has the aura as well, but not as much. All the radiation from the explosions must have affected them, especially Kiki, who was in one of the clouds for a while.

"I am Mega Kiki! Muhuhahaha!" the radioactive monkey says. "Perish!" He grabs Python by the tail and starts swinging him around like a whip. He whips the ground, and a green fire shockwave is launched from where Python's head struck the ground. The shockwave rips toward Dux and Walla, who dodge in opposite directions. They run away from Kiki and Python, running toward Pally for protection.

"Don't come this way! Arrrrgh!"

Too late. Pally's fuse finishes burning right as Walla and Dux get close. The explosion KO's both of Pally's comrades. As for Pally's HP, it's looking rather bleak.

The two radioactive foes advance toward Pally. Pally is out of options.
"Help meeeeee!"

"Muhuhuhahaha!! Die!"

Suddenly...

"Kiki, what has gotten into you?"

"HUH!?"
"HUH!?"

Both Pally and Kiki stare at Python. It talked!

"Put me down."

Slowly, Kiki puts him down.

"I think the radiation has done something to your already magnetically altered brain and turned you evil. I believe you should take a break until it dies down. As for me, the radiation won't affect me the same way it will you, so I will be fine. And finally, stop using my body as a whip!"

".... ....Since when can you talk?"

"Simple. I simply--"

The Lakitu's latest and greatest Spiny Egg reaches it's destination, which is Python's head, finihsing him off. It's 1 on 1 now.

"Damn! Thanks to you, moron, I'll never know the secret to his speech skills!"

"Wat a sec', what did I do?"

"DIE!!"

Kiki attacks with a slide-kick, which bunts the already injured Bob-Omb off the edge of the balcony in a KO'd state. The winner of this battle is Monkey Business.

"Now to take care of Lakit--"

And a Spiny Egg finishes him off.

Bonus: The first one to catch the reference to a funny old show here in this battle gets 10 coins.

I will tally up the coins now, and post the results at the same time as I post Battle#08. In the meantime, work on the Bonus.

Thanks for all the requests, guys!

Excellent writing again, Schwa!
But another loss for me. If this keeps up I won't have any coins for the tournament!

Anyway, here are a few notes/responses to your questions, Schwa:
(All pics respectfully linked from The Mushroom Kingdom's Mariopedia.)

1. Mace Guy is the Shy Guy with the large spiked ball (he swings it in a circle) from SMW2:YI. He is usually found in the castle levels--I think 2-8 may be his first appearance, but I could be wrong...

Barney Bubble is a purple...well..."thing", for lack of a better term. Another enemy from SMW2, he spat out bubbles when Yoshi jumped on him. Yoshi could then swallow one of the bubbles to use a bubble attack himself, or the bubbles could be used to harm enemies. He was found in at least one of the World 3 jungle levels, but I'll be darned if I remember exactly which one...

Shark Chomp is a simply huge Chomp that chases Yoshi in several SMW2 levels. He would devour any soft ground behind the dinosaur, but hard stone was his weakness. When Yoshi made it onto a stone platform, the poor Chomp would chip its teeth, shed a tear, and fall into the wild blue yonder. He is found in several levels, including 6-7 and (possibly) 4-4.

2. Sorry about the three-way battle idea; I didn't think about potshots being thrown (though from SSB experience, I should have known that's what usually happens). I do have another enemy idea to throw out: Zeus Guy, from just about every World 6 level in SMW2. He may be a bit too powerful, though--I think he was one of the few enemies in that game that could not be defeated...

3. One last thing: you forgot to post the score tallies after the last battle!

Hope the info helped, and Peardian: if those enemy descriptions are wrong, feel free to correct me.

3. One last thing: you forgot to post the score tallies after the last battle!

1. Zeus Guy could be defeated actually. He was defeated by fire using a Pyro Guy or a Fire Watermelon.
2. That was actually one of my ideas to go into a battle. Nice try though.
3. He already said he would post the score tallies when he posts the next battle. Read things: It'll help.

I know that one! Isn't that from Monty Python and the Holy Grail? That's a great movie.

Barney Bubble appears only in 3-7: Monkey's Favortie Lake, I believe. Shark Chomp does appear at the start of 4-4: Marching Milde's Fort.

Great battle, by the way.

Peardian was the closest. It's from Monty Python, not necessarily the Holy Grail, though the Holy Grail IS one of the best movies in the Material Plane. That, and Big Trouble in Little China.

I finally have Battle#08 ready! Thanks to the requests of Peardian and Magikoopa Myster, I have an "explosive" situation for you guys.

Battle#08:

West Side: Arcane Pain
-Magikoopa
-White Magikoopa
-Black Magikoopa

Magikoopas heavily vary depending on their color, in attacks only, not much stat-wise. The basic Magikoopa has a high Attack, medium Defense and Speed, and above average HP. Their attacks are slow to fire, but quite powerful. They also have tons of different TYPES of attacks, from fire to ice to sleep powder to thunder and storm. White Magikoopas have the same stats, only their Attack is Medium and all they get is a Holy offensive attack. However, they can heal allies as well. Black Magikoopas have the same stats as normal ones but a lower Defense. Their only offensive attacks are Thunder and Darkness, but they can cast several kinds of special shields on allies.

East Side: Nature Power
-Wood Snifit Ostro Rider
-Wood Snifit Autobomb Rider
-Barney Bubble Labo

Wood Snifits have medium Attack, HP, and Defense, and above average Speed. They attack by firing acorn projectiles from their mouths (or masks, lol), plus they can summon the powers of nature to help them... usually not anything HUGE, however. Ostros have medium Attack and Defense, above average HP and high Speed. They obey all commands of the rider, and with no rider they go completely ballistic. (However, a Wood Snifit is better at controlling an Ostro than most riders.) The Autobomb can shoot fire at foes, but if it's attacked enough it explodes and sends the rider flying. The Barney Bubble Labo is a special Barney Bubble variation that spits chemical bubbles and is VERY combustable. Should it run out of HP, a mass explosion will occur depending on the power of the finishing attack. Barney Bubble Labos have below average Attack, VERY low Defense, high HP and medium Speed. Their attacks can be poisonous or paralysis-inducing. This team has with them a Secret Potion and a Volt Shroom, the former teleporting one ally anywhere desired at most 24 feet away, the latter casting an electric barrier over one ally that lasts for a while.

What to Keep in Mind:
The two teams meet in a volcanic territory when the two Wood Snifits, Doug and Jerry, along with their laborotory assistant Wubbles, go to an expedition to the volcano reigon to gather some data on volcanic ash and activity. The Magikoopas appear, stating that this is Lord Bowser's turf and they will now be done in. A battle ensues. If Nature Power wins, they get to continue their expedition to gather data... if Arcane Pain wins, Nature Power will most likely be either obliterated or taken prisoner. Nature Power CAN fight, and as a team they do pretty well, but they're scientists and their job isn't TO battle. Arcane Pain, on the other hand, are some of Bowser's personal soldiers, and actually get paid to beat up on intruders. In skill, they have the upper hand, but Nature Power can use some insane combos with their plant-type attacks combined with Autobomb's fire and Ostro's wind (yes, Ostro can use a few wind attacks in this case). Wubbles also is a VERY dangerous foe, for he uses bio-weapons to attack that can inflict all sorts of vile and lethal toxins or viruses on the Magikoopas. This is countered thanks to the White Magikoopa's healing magic, but if he falls early, tables may turn against them, and vice versea if Wubbles falls early as well. Point: This is gonna be a CLOSE battle!!!

Info in the Teams:
Arcane Pain consists of two old-timers and a whipersnapper. Victor, the normal Magikoopa, is 60 years old in human years, and technically he can retire at any time, but he quotes, "Woo hoo! Fightin' keeps me youthful!" He is still just as lively as any young fighter, but when he gets mad he goes into Sailor Mode and, well... yeah. Rax, the White Magikoopa, is 56 in human years, and can't stand evil... hence why he's a White Magikoopa, specializing in light magic. Disku, the Black Magikoopa, is only 15 in human years and his quick-to-speak attutude, which gets the team in trouble a lot, usually gets on the nerves of the other two. Victor is arrogant around him because he thinks "Whippersnapper's too young to sail straight!"

Nature Power is a group of scientists, Wood Snifits, studying the elements of nature. Doug and Jerry are very respected for their work, especially the project known by all as Wubbles. Wubbles is actually a science experiment created when the two Snifits combined chemicals with Barney Bubble DNA... it was one of the first successful DNA-reconstruction experiments in Mario history, and it made them rich. Wubbles helps out in the Lab constantly as he is able to expel nearly any chemical from his body that he has taken in before, in any amount.

Notices:
-Tournament is coming up. Here is what I want you to do: Start thinking of some Mario creature that you would like to represent yourself in battle. The more coins you have, the better off you are when the tourney begins. Don't tell me our ideas, just think for now. The Tourney will require a lot of you to use VERY good teamwork skills with the other posters, and use LOTS of creativity. That is all I can tell you for now.
-The coin results will be posted in a few minutes when I edit this post. Hang on...

Neat. I can't wait. My vote and 10 coins on Nature Power. Science rules!

Edit: Make it 15. I'm feeling lucky.
