How did Fusoya make those animations for the DW Smb3 style blocks without using the "Edit Extended Animations" Option. The "Edit Ext." thingy only aplies for 1 level which is exactly the opposite to the DW animated blocks with can be activated in every level. So what i want is to know how to make an animated block work on every level wihtout having to wrote those GFX numbers in "Edit Ext." over and over again.

Off-topic: Change your background. It's terribly hard just to read what you're trying to say.

Which reminds me, I have to finish rummaging through Fu's closet to find that copy

And he doesn't even need a private copy of the editor,... (he may have one, but it's usless,... except maybe to write certain information to the game faster that he can with a hex editor,.. and to display gfx that he's working with, so he can change it while looking at it the way it'll look in the game).

Btw, edit Gfx # 33 to change the animations that the game has originally. That's all you can do, unless you're a programmer,... or if someone takes their time to write a program that'll allow you to be even lazyer.

When i opened a level that had that animated brick in it, i went to the animation dialog, but i couldn't see the brick's animation on the list. i couldn't see it on any of the levels. it's like it's spread throughout the whole game somehow.

Why does that happen, and how come you'd normally have to copy and paste the tiles to every level for that to happen?

Thanks.

That's because I edited the data for one of the unused tile animations of the original game, and added a small ASM hack for making the brick act like a coin when a POW is hit. At the time I made DW, LM didn't yet have it's own animated tile list feature, so I didn't have much choice.

this is from a few months ago.
