Metroid games have some moments that make you go
Crocomire also scared me, but not so much as that damned giant bug in Metroid Zero Mission. I was walking carelessly, thinking about how many eggs there were, and all of a sudden the music gets freaky and this huge insect thing comes flying right at me!!
In Metroid Prime, when you're in one of those underwater rooms in the frigate, suddenly a space pirate falls dead from avobe. I was scared to go onwards because I didn't know what the heck had killed him. I think it was in the same room, some tentacles that breaked trough a door also made me jump, because I was already hyped due to the pirate's death.

Ah, but Eternal Darkness was scarier than that... It's just that all the game was scary...

I get scared quite easily, but I like it.

I remember being at Toys R Us a couple years back and it was some Resident Evil type game out and I was watching it and you know how they have them set up and you can play it. My sister started to and the whole part of the game freaked me out. I was like and when I was younger we went to this little grocery store and they had Mortal Kombat in the back I'm not sure which one. I was about 7 or 8 and I was just looking at it and then it showed like..when you could do those finish moves and I forgot which one it was but whatever one it was it freaked me out so bad. I think I had some nightmares .

The only games that really "creeped me out" where the Silent Hill games. And even then, only number one really got to me. Other than that...

Im a little surprised on this one...The Silent Hills didnt bother me that much as neither did Resident Evil (although when Nemesis jumped through the window I had to fight back the feeling to jump)...the one game that scared the absolute living CRAP out of me was Fatal Frame...Its the only game I can honestly say I had to play with the lights on because it still scares me so much.

Funny little story...a bunch of friends and I got into a little argument with a few of our girl friends about how video games COULD be scary and they didnt believe us...so Halloween night we threw a little party complete with fog machines and stuff (just to add to the atmosphere )...got about 10 minutes into the game and the girls had to leave...they werent even the ones playing!

That will be all.

Two words, Clock Tower. This game scared the ever-loving shit out of me.

I'm glad t osee a few others in this thread mention this game. At least I know I'm not alone. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but It was bloody scary. Hell, it probably still would be, if I played it now.

Spoiler:
The game starts off with just this creepy kinda air to it, and you know that something's bound to happen. The thing is, I got the game on a whim. I'd never heard of it before, so I had no idea what to expect. But the creepy silence was a prelude to a big surprise.

I look in the tub and EREEE! Rotting corpse/screaming/that FUCKING scissor guy following you/more corpses hiding in closets and falling through windows! Constant heart attack.

Man.

I almost want to play it again...

Mweh.. when I was much younger and playing The Guardian Legend, I fought this thing. Grimgrin.

After blowing his face off, a bunch of eyeballs started swarming at me.

looking back it's really nothing, but at the time it freaked me out.

I wasn't really freaked out much, per se. Although when I was about 5, I was scared for my brother when he was playing SMB... I thought when Mario died, he would too. However, some of the enemy placement in Wolfenstein makes me jump when I'm playing it. (Mind you, I play with headphones, in the dark, so that can't help.)

Although there was this one ColecoVision game that scared the CRAP out of my brother... it was a giant alien face in a cutscene at the beginning of the game. Didn't bother me much. I forget the name, but I'll look it up.

Abraham Lincon's a scarier Fella... I mean he's old, and bearded... And, yes... that too ...

But seeing random pictures in the backdrop of games is terrifying... Especially, for example... If you're playing Unreal 2 at 3 am, and abe pops up and says hi ...

the Revenant from Doom II was pretty creepy... So was fighting off those Redeads and Gibdos from Zelda OOT... That gave me nightmares...
Oh, yeah... playing Star Fox 64, after you kill Andross and his brains and eyes appear... that freaked me out the first couple of times, but the wireframe version of him was worse.
