The fire breathing things from tenchu freaked me out first time playing. I though they were good guys and then they set me on fire! I also hated the weird noise they made. But now I'm ok with it.

Resident Evil 2:
-The Licker that jumped through the window
-The hands that came out of the wall in that one hallway
-The zombies that came through the door

Silent Hill 3:
It didn't freak me out to make me jump, but it is rather eerie. I expected something to happen in the bloody toilet.
-The creatures with scythe blades that fly and make that horrible screaching sound freak me out a bit.

Duke Nukem Total Meltdown:
-The Bates Motel level freaked me out all the time.

Eternal Darkness:
-Bathtub scene
-Memory card deleting scene
-Body explodes when casting a spell
-Shooting your self in the head when you reload

Clock Tower:
-Mary (I think that was Mary) falling through the stain glass window
-Having the mirror's grab you.
-The meatlocker with the cockroaches
-Most of the places in the mansion
-Any instance where the Scissorman attacks

Zelda Ocarina of Time:
-Redeads, when trying for a 3 heart game (cause you know that you are fucked when they get you)

Zelda Majora's Mask:
-The gibdos house in Ikana Canyon
-Sharp's Melody on a 3 heart game

Super Metroid:
Crocomire did scare me when I first saw it.

Metroid Zero Mission:
The crawler that is in brinstar. That thing scared me when it showed up out of no where.

American McGee's Alice:
-The psychotic kids

Phantasy Star
-The spiders creeped me out a bit when I saw them.
-Medusa
-The caves/dungeons that had pitfalls

Horrible pixeled thing was in my face! *Shudders with fear*
Agreed. Protozoid Slimers looked naaasty, and combined with the sound... ugh.

Oh gosh, I know what you mean about that sound. Just plain... HORRIBLE. Oh well, I guess that I might get over it... soon.

Fatal Frame 1 and 2, uh, the whole games?

And the beginning of Half-Life can be eerie. With aliens jumping out of boxes and things out of nowhere. Or maybe it's just that feeling, that there's aliens around you, and you have nothing but a crowbar to protect your life?

I just though of another freaky experience in a game; Parasite Eve 2. I can't remember the name of the place but it's the dessert where you fight that big huge dude on the balcony who shoots flames at your from flamethrowers mounted on his shoulder. Anyways right before Aya (I think that was her name) goes to sleep you have to go check out whats happening in a hotel room because you hear screaming, that scream was absolutly perfect and actually gave me chills. Especially while playing at 3:30 am while it's dark outside and you're the only one home with no lights on

The entire game of Doom 64.

Jezus H. Christopher.

That thing, back in the old days, scared the shit out of me.

It still does at certain levels during this period of my life.

Resident Evil 2 freaked me out quite the bit. That was while ago when I first played it. It was pretty creepy. I don't really get freaked out by games, but many of the time I will jump a bit if something pops out of no where and trys to kill me.

I never found ReDeads 'scary', exactly. Not that scary at all, really. I mean, they're creepy, yes, but not frightening. They're just traditional zombies, after all. And if you get scared by a scream, well... You can be scared by anything, then.

I remember the first thing in a game that truely freaked me out...

The death of the infamous Crocomire. Hopefully that's enough said...

Scary... none. Freaky... the whole game Sanitarium. The chapter with the pumpkinpatch and the mutant plant brought to life by a meteor that hit the town, trying to make all kids into plants and killing all adults... that part even took my appetite away, especially after finding the last kid while playing hide and seek (had to dig the kid up and later, one of them's pulling a cart along with the kid on)
Another freaky part is a chapter where you're in a deformed version of your old house you used to live as a kid, seeing ghosts of your parents, your dying sis and yourself as you're solving a trauma. Then I'm not even mentioning you've got to burn a body in a furnace and take the glass eye at one point, or just all those loonies you meet. Damn freaky game, which I definitely got to finish sometime

Try listening to the SH1 OST in the dark. Everything minus the last 3 tracks [Other Side, UFO Ending and Bonus Bloopers], Long Not Tomorrow [Lisa Mutating], and the theme [ovbiously] is pretty damn creepy.

Couple that with the game at night ... [shudder]

I sorta didn't like a place in Resident Evil 2 where you kill off the zombies pretty early on in the game... and it's clear for most of the game.. and then like 10 hours later when you run there for the 12th time crows come out a window.

Most shocked, probably the first time i played super metroid, about six years old. I wasn't really paying attention, had the volume up really loud, and right at the begining samus ship flahes towards the screen with a loud noise, it nearly made me jump across the room i was so surprised. The residents evil games have some pretty shocking moments as well, but the cream of the crop comes from mario two on nes. I was in world eight, and there was a room with two plants, one was a magic jar, and when i picked up the other one it was a bobomb, and me and my bro, 5 and 6 both screamed IT"S A BOBOMB and a threw the control across the room in my mixture of excitment, joy, and fear.

Fyxe - I know exactly what you mean by Crocomire's death, and that scared the crap out of me, too.

A certain boss in Silent Hill disturbed me the first time I saw it.
Spoiler:
I was watching my friend Yuda play through the alternate school. He found a story about a hunter who shot an arrow into a lizard's mouth to kill it. So he eventually got to the boss, which is a large lizardlike creature, and he started shooting it with the handgun. OK, so after it's pissed off, it'll open its mouth *insert mental picture of gecko yawning*, and then he'll shoot it, right? Well, the thing SPLITS vertically down the middle like a giant clothespin, shoots out the long halves of its jaw, bites the character's head, and kills him. That thing haunted me when I tried to sleep.

Resident Evil 2. I think I shat myself like, 20 times.
Or Doom 2, when I FIRST had to fight a Baron of Hell and an arachnotron.
...Even Zelda: Links awakening when I did the screen warp code in a cave and wound up in the Nightmares room, and then the music went all funky and it froze, and I was like "woah..."
Or Super Etroid when the lights came on in Brinstar after I got the Maru Mari.

Crocmire? Omg, I jumped out of my chair when i saw his damned skeleton rise up. What else? Hmm, there's a whole bunch of GC RE crap that scared the hell outta me. Like the fricking sharks! AND the damned spiders! Oh yea, now I remember, that's the summer where I killed every spider I saw in the bathroom with Orange Glo. I even smothered one in shaving cream. Hate those little buggers. One game that scared the bejeezus outta me the most was not some sort of horror game with intense graphics and such. But Roger Rabbit for NES. Is it just me, or is it creepy to play games w/crappy sounds and freaky looking characters/animations?
