Actually it works really well. I bet you went into door editing and lose all the doors, right?

Well take it from me(I found the door data in the first place), the door data does take a bit of getting used to. Here's the deal: Each doorway is 2 bytes. Level values from 00 to 07 are for overhead levels, and 08 to 0F are for side view levels. You can change the level, and that means the doorway will appear in that level. So for example, I take a doorway in level 1 side view(08), and increase the level. This means the door will appear in level 2 and will no longer be seen in level 1. Anyway, doorways come in pairs, and both need to be set in the right spot to work. The first byte is the destination of the second byte, and vice versa. For them to work, they must be over a block with the door attribute set. You need 2 blocks in order to move the tank, one for the person.

I suggest you make backups before you attempt any serious editing. It always takes time to get used to an editor. This one does have some annoying aspects, like mouse support, but noting so bad that it can't be overcome.

Uh, it's not Google per se, it's the fact that by typing the term Blaster Master level editor into pretty much any search engine, you can find the answer to your question.

It takes much less effort to do this than posting a new thread here.

But that's what Sony tried to do with PS2; add a bunch of useless stuff like DVD playback to make it "better". When really it just adds bloat.

Yes, the tile editing is tedous. It would be cool though if there was a way that instead of the current system, there was just one giant level with small blocks. I think that each level is 16 screens long by 8 screens high, so that means there might not be enough room, but if the rom was expanded, perhaps so that each level were to load like in Fester's quest(layed block by block), it would make for better levels.

Oh, and new powerups would kickass!
