here are some screens for the next release of SMB and SMBTLL. remember to keep checking back here for (almost) daily updates.

Update 9:

Update 8:

Update 7:

Update 6:

Update 5:

Update 4:

Update 3:

Update 2:

Update 1:

Original Shots:

brand new title screen!

Like the rain? it's ripped from the intro in SMA4. a smashed brick leaves behind a rain tile!

Mario has a different head for each walking frame

A collected coin leaves behind a rain tile, too.

I know that these are old levels. the old levels will be released as they were. these are only test levels.

some of the extra levels will use rain and snow. i'm adding a few new worlds to this game.

Please tell me what ya think!

Great job again pete! The rain looks really cool, and I can't wait to play the new worlds that you make. The status bar looks perfect also. I hope this time around you're able to add in more enemies like the hammer brothers. Nice work.

not to sound like a dick, but please, if you have a question like that, which isn't related to my hack, PM me.

Adding the wind to SMBTLL? It's very possible with movement blocks, animation, and some block that activates the animation, err if one exists...

Animation activating would require some trickery because you can't stop animation before then or else you'd kill all the other animations like rain... SMB1 didn't have a P-switch, so if you had someone get rid of it's block coining properties etc you could have the wind area be both wind and turn on p-switch effect when inside it, which would allow you to have an animation that turns on when the P-switch is active.

Or i could just take the easy way out, and use movement blocks which look like animated wind. No need for animation activation.

Or use silent on and off switches and custom animation.

Well, you could at least make the wind *look* like it's supposed to with custom animation. One of the options on the drop down list in the Edit Extended Animation Frames menu option (I believe it is the second drop down list) is On/Off Activated. The first 8 frames are animated when the switches are set to Off, and vice versa for the second 8. Making it actually activate the wind is another story, but this would be my first step.

If you used a movement block as one block, then placed in a custom-programmed block that called the movement blocks subroutine, you could probably do it reasonably well. Shouldn't be anything more complicated than

lda $7E14E0 (or whatever the correct value is, i can't remember right now)
cmp #$0
beq xxxxxx (beq long to the movement soubroutine if animations are ON)
rts

and there you go! only something like that!

Nice.

CN: He used blocks to change to the next map16 block, or tile 25.

That's perfect Joker, because the player isn't going to be on the wind before hitting the "on" block. Thanks for that.

Now you all know this hack is going to kick ass, right? This hack already kicks ass with that rain in the background. So with a touch of Googie it'll be ever so sweet. Good job so far Peter_AC.
