Does anyone know how to fix my rex? I ripped the SHYGUY GFX from Yoshi's
Isle they all look normal except my rex. What did I do wrong.

I've got the biggest feeling that the original top half of the rex sprite is shifted to the left more, so maybe you could start with trying that.

You need to change a offset in a hex editor, but I lost the document where it stands in. Ask Atma X, he wrote it.

ROM bytes 0x1984C and 0x1984E both need to be changed from FC to 00. ROM bytes 0x19858 and 0x1985A both need to be changed from 04 to 00. This should take care of your problem...

Rex's head also bobs up and down (1 pixel between frames). It's very possible that you want to keep this effect, but if not ROM address 0x19864 should be changed from F1 to F0.

Ummm... I have a document by mikeyk that has the exact Rex offsets needed to change to make his head directly above him.

*taken from that file*
Rex specific tables

0x1984C / $0396B3
rex tile horizontal displacement table
(0xC entries for facing left, 0xC entries for facing right)

0x19864 / $0396BD
0xC entries (rex tile vertical displacement table)

0x19870 / $0396C3
0xC entries (rex tiles)

0x1987C / $0396CB
2 entries (rex walking left info, rex walking right info)
xyppccct format (see below)

0x19714 <- normal rex walking speed (loaded at instr $03/9564)
0x19716 <- smushed rex walking speed

xyppccct format
x: horizontal flip (upside down)
y: vertical flip (mirrored)
pp: priority, 0-3 (should remain at 3)
ccc: palette number, 0-7
t: high byte of tile number (should remain zero)


...you need to save documents when they are posted so you don't have to ask these questions.
