Cool. Can't zoom in far enough to see my house though.

I typed in tokyo and it showed a bunch of places in my town. I didn't know Japan was a town in Ontario...

Actually, they have Canada as well.. just not as well detailed. :\

As such, I couldn't really find my house. General area, yes, but not the exact street.

But it'll improve. It IS Google after all.

Well uhm yeah that was kinda my point. No one made threads for this before, but when Google does something everyone is like "OMG AWESOME NEVER SEEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE".

Maybe that's because there's actually a noticeable difference in how they work. Google Maps has a big canvas where you simply drag to do most things (move, zoom), and you can switch between Map and Satellite at any given moment. On most other sites you have this three square inch box where you click "zoom out" or try to move in any one direction and go have dinner and maybe when you get back it'll be done loading and you'll have overshot your goal by miles. It's just a lot slicker.

that, and it doesn't have "YOURMOM.COM" plastered in big letters all over it

I like it (I could find several landmarks, like our old neighbor's pool and Morell Park) but after a ways away from where I started it stopped loading.

I know it wasn't because of it being too far out (it was a major freeway leading into the main city) but it just stopped loading across this one street

I find it interesting that they blur the rooftops of the White House and surrounding buildings.

Works for me. Click-and-drag beats 'click the East button, wait 10 minutes, and see an image scrolled way too far east' by a ridiculous amount.

That white house thing is interesting though. It's not even blurred, just big chunks of the image are missing. I can see it at maximum zoom, though. Fire!

Well, the map thing is nice, but the real imagery isn't anything new. And this looks like arial photos, not satellite ones.

I've seen the Microsoft building with my own eyes. It's a nice building.

anyways, it's pretty cool--not sure how useful this is though...
