Hey, I just installed a gentoo linux system on my computer and was wondering if anyone knew of any good GUIs for it. I'm trying to get Xorg on it right now but it doesn't seem to want to work. If anyone knows of common mistakes people make in installing it or if you know of other good GUIs then could you tell me. Thanks a bunch. | |||

Sorry I can't help you directly...I've only used Debian, and XFree86 was all packaged up nicely for me, so I just went with that. My husband has installed Gentoo, so I can ask him if he ever got X.org to work. In any case, this is more of a HW/SW forum thread, so I'm going to move it there. You can also try some extensive Googling. I've solved all manner of bizarre Linux issues after finding random posts on mailing list archives that described the same problems that I encountered. Try searching for your specific build errors or just X.org and Gentoo in general. |
