Could someone please explain to me the structure of the game's font? For instance, why do the letters A and B use the same 8x8 tile? | |||

They don't and can't use the same tile. Some of the title screen letters were used twice to use less space in the ROM imo. Come to MSN. |

Uh, the fonts are designed for Layer 3 and therefore only have 2 bpp. If you load the font's GFX file in 4 bpp mode, the two letters will appear as one, because the 2 bpp of the adjacent letters will be read out as different bitplanes for one tile. | |||
