so anyway I whanted to know if theres a way you could have message boxes and stuff without exceading the 2 per level limit

I also have ALOT of other questions that'll make me sound like the n00b of all n00bs to ASM

btw I'm using lunar magic

1.How do you import graphics

2.How do u import parrelex backrounds/backrounds or whatever

3.How do you get into the script/asm editor

4.How do you make your own ExGFX in the rite format (What program do i use)

5.what are some good sites for learning ASM

6.Is there a way to make ur own custom enemy (with like custom attacks)

7.Is it okay and non-annoying to be asking all these questions

1.How do you import graphics

-That depends. If you want to put in normal graphics, then hit the red mushroom button to make lunar magic decompress the graphics in your rom to 33 (hex) separate files, and stores them in a new folder called "graphics", in the same directory as you rom. They are *.bin files. Download yy-chr or Tile Layer Pro (I reccomend yy-chr). Then open the separate files with yy-chr, then change it to SNES viewing format, thne edit wawy! The palette will be screwed up, but it's easy to work around it or change the colors that yuor viewing in the palette. If you change the viewing palette in the graphics editing program, it won't change the colors it uses in the game, it's just for easier seeing of what colors to use. When you are done, save it to the file, then hit the green mushroom button in lunar magic to import and recompress the graphics back into the rom.If you wanna edit exgraphics, hit the blue mushroom button, then a folder called "exgraphics" will appear in the same directory as the rom you are editing. Go to your graphics folder, then select the file that you want most of the graphics based upon, the hit ctrl-c (copy), then go back to the exgraphics folder and hit ctrl-v (paste). Then rename the file to ExGFX--- (case sensitive, i think. the dashes represent any number from 80-FFF.) Now open, edit, save, then hit the yellow mushroom button in lunar magic to get the exgraphics into the rom.To acess exgraphics, hit the red poison mushroom then choose the exgraphics file you wish to use in the FG1, FG2, BG1, FG3, SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4, or the slot that allows extended tile area.

2.How do u import parrelex backrounds/backrounds or whatever

-Let's see.... If you want to know how to put backgrounds from different games into there, that's complex. Make the appropriate exgraphics file with the graphics for the background, then go to the palette editor and set up the palette for the background. (note: people get mad when you use the last 8 colors of palettes 0 and 1 because that messes up the status bar palette) Now open the 8x8 tile editor, so you can view tiles, and know their numbers. Then iopen the 16x16 tile editor. Go to page 12 or higher, then click on any of the squares there (doesn't matter which), then hit "edit 16x16 attributes". Now there will be 7 boxes. Don't worry about the last two boxes when working with background tiles. Now in each one, type in the number of the 8x8 tile you wish to use. Hover the mouse over the tile you are looking for in tyhe 8x8 editor to see it's tile number. The fifth box is the palette, assign the palette you specially reserved for the background. Hit OK. Now if a tile in the 16x16 looks flipped wrong, then click on it (in the little picture of the tile at the bottom of the screen), then flip it X or Y in the 8x8 pic at the bottom. When it looks good, right-click on the tile anywhere on that page to paste it there. Now hit F9 so you can save it, or all your changes will be lost. Now go back and do that same thing again with more tiles until you have all the tiles for your background are completed. When it is completed, open the background tile map editor. Now keep the 16x16 editor open, then select the tile you wish to paste, then right click in the editor to paste it there. Do this until your BG is complete.

3.How do you get into the script/asm editor

-There is none in lunar magic. Download a hex editor to change values all over the rom, but mind you, if you don't know ASM, you might as well not download it.

4.How do you make your own ExGFX in the rite format (What program do i use)

-Told ya already in part 1.

5.what are some good sites for learning ASM

-Zophar's domain has some good tutorials for 6502 ASM and a primer for 65816 ASM. Use google and you might find better ones.

6.Is there a way to make ur own custom enemy (with like custom attacks)

-Yes. Only uber-experienced people who know alot about ASM can do that, though.

7.Is it okay and non-annoying to be asking all these questions

-Yes, it is ok to ask these questions, becase everyone needs to learn them sometime, even if they may sound like n00by questions. Don't feel stupid asking these questions, everyone has a few like this.

Hope this helps!

Now as a tip, you put this in the wrong forum, so be careful to put it in the SMW hacking forum next time.
